About how long does it take Google WMT to refresh stats on "Links to Your Site"? We're dealing with an unnatural link/anchor phrase issue and I'm curious as to the "typical" time it takes for Google to recognize the links removal or Anchor Text change.
Any refresh time ideas on OpenSiteExplorer or AHREFS as well would be a plus...
Thanks!
Dan

And for OSE, you can find the update schedule at https://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/345964-linkscape-update-schedule

For WMT, they seem to update "Links to your site" data every 4-5 days. And when they do, the data is about 10 - 14 days old.
Don't take these times as an indicator for when Google considers a link or not. It's not kept closely up to date with their index.
Ahrefs/Majestic are pretty fast in my experience. Sometimes in as little as 1-2 days for links on popular domains.
For OSE, it's once a month. The last update post says they'll be cutting that time down to weeks -- and eventually more often as they move from amazon to their own hardware.

Should I set blog category/tag pages as "noindex"? If so, how do I prevent "meta noindex" Moz crawl errors for those pages?
From what I can tell, SEO experts recommend setting blog category and tag pages (ie. "http://site.com/blog/tag/some-product") as "noindex, follow" in order to keep the page quality of indexable pages high. However, I just received a slew of critical crawl warnings from Moz for having these pages set to "noindex." Should the pages be indexed? If not, why am I receiving critical crawl warnings from Moz and how do I prevent this?

How can a site not indexed on google still have 40+ Page Authority on OpenSiteExplorer?
Hey guys, I was revisiting the backlinks to my site and found a few that were not indexed on Google anymore. I confirmed this by typing site:"SiteAddress" in google and it retuned 0 result. Yet when i searched the same site on OSE (OpenSiteExplorer) yielded me a PA of over 40. I used to research sites on OSE to see if they are worth pursuing for a backlink but i am second guessing this because of this recent finding. Can someone please shed some light on this? Thanks!

Does Google Reward Bad Links in Some Industries?
This week I've been diving into competitive research again for several clients in different industries, and unless the data in Open Site Explorer is wrong, it really does appear that Google continues to reward sites with unnatural links in certain industries, especially industries that are less tech-savvy (agriculture, finance, manual labor). I've combed through all the links carefully, to ensure there aren't some secret high-quality links lurking, and for some of these sites that are showing up in the top ten for search they do not even one real, high-quality link. Also, their onsite optimization is often way over the top and the user experience is nothing less than nauseating. Could it be a MozScape issue, or does Google continue to reward terrible sites and link structures in certain industries? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Open Site Explorer results vs. Google Webmaster Tools results
I've been comparing the links to my domain that OSE and GWT show and GWT shows many more links than OSE. Can anyone explain the difference? Does Google report no follow links that OSE does not?

Reg. internal followed links
Our site is new. So far we have a 534 pages. Our competitors have around 5000. I'm working on building more, but that's a lot of catching up. The report says we have only 174 internal followed links. Why is that? I have all links set in the site to be nofollow links, but not the inside links. I also have lots of landing pages, which are not added to the main menu, obviously. But the the main menu shows up on all landing pages. Just wondering if either the nofollow has anything to do with it or the landing pages set up, or the numbers are accurate. Any ideas? Thanks!
