All in One SEO weirdness
-
For some reason, I'm getting extra words in my title tags.
For example, I wrote "Washing Machine Widgets | Acme Widgets, Inc. | Acme Widgets Inc.
Anyone have any idea why I'm getting the extra " | Acme Widgets Inc."?
Thanks!

It might be the plugin. But google is doing this to some of my pages and they are in hand-coded html. Google is also doing this to my adsense.
Google has taken to monkeying with our title tags.
They are stinking up my message and changing my carefully considered marketing.

Its the plug in. Check the automated settings for the format. You might want to add another sub-keyword that provides some value so it isnt a duplicate of what is already posted on the URL.
Hope this helps.

Check the plugin settings, you may have specified to add that to the end of each title.
If it's a post check <a title="Click for Help!">Post Title Format:</a>
If it's a page check <a title="Click for Help!">Page Title Format:</a>
The default setting is usually %post_title% | %blog_title%
So if you blog title (in Settings > General) is Acme Widgets Inc. it will be added to the end of your post title.
Let me know if that helps.

SEO traffic to the homepage is down across sites
Week over week, I've noticed that organic traffic (and oftentimes revenue) for the homepage are down across most of our sites compared to last year. Brand search interest is down for a number of the brands, but in a lot of these cases, it's not down so much that it would make sense for how much the homepage is down (for example: brand search interest was down 4% last week compared to last year, but the homepage traffic was down 32% in visits). What I've done is generate entry page reports (this year vs. last year) and then bucket the pages by homepage, category pages, and product pages. In most cases, category pages are up year over year for traffic and revenue. I'm concerned that the homepage being down is more than a brand heat issue, but I haven't come across anything out of the ordinary in Google Search Console and keywords are pretty consistent in performance for the most part. Branded keywords continue to rank at #1, too. Any thoughts as to what else I can look into?

Changing URLs for SEO
Hi, Currently we have a page, /business, but we have shifted our strategy to optimize for this page for the keyword "enterprise" instead of "business". The page authority of this page is 18 and our domain authority is 35. I've already updated content and title tags to more of an enterprise focus. Would it be wise to move the page to /enterprise and create a 301 redirect from /business to /enterprise? Or is this too risky from an SEO standpoint? Thanks!

SEO problems from moving from several pages to one accordian
Ive read other posts that say using accordion is not detrimental to SEO, and for conversion optimization we want to take several of our existing pages and make them into one accordion. But what will this do to seo and duplicate content as I redirect the old pages to anchors in the accordion? I would think this would be a dup content problem as www.oldinfo1 www.oldinfo2 will now have their content on the same page but I will be redirecting them to www.newpage#oldinfo1 www.newpage#oldinfo2 Is there a way around duplicate content problems?

What is the best way to upload an image for SEO
I have a site that is largely based on images. It runs on Wordpress. Each page has about 10 images. What is the best way to upload images? As a WP gallery. As another gallery (with a gallery plugin) As seperate images uploaded via WP (it shows a thumbnail which is links to the larger image). That way each image can have a title. As seperate images uploaded via FTP in which case I would then make a thumbnail which will link to the larger image. This option would only be good if WP does not optomize the thumbnail images that it creates. As a text title which links to the image. Since most of my content is based on images and mostly comes from Google images I was wondering what the best method to use is.
