I checked some of the results with OSE that ranked top on Goolge SERPS that have high Domain Authority,Page Authority 1 and content on the website's particular page is thin.
How come they rank high when PA is very low?
-
DA is above 80 and not blog sites and the content on the page is duplicated on other sites.I don't know whether the content originated from them or not. Since the URL has the keyword I can't post it here.
-
It depends on a number of factors. PA is just one of them...
How competitive is the keyword?
Do they have any social interaction?
What is the DA? (Domain Authority)
Is their content amazing?
Maybe Google just likes them...
Or maybe your logged onto your Google account when searching
Or maybe your browser has saved settings and you need to clear your browsing history in order to see real results.
In any case there are many factors so it is simply very hard to tell. Especially without a URL and keyword you are observing.

If we could have a couple of examples it'd be helpful. I'm going to guess that it's something like a blog on a wordpress.com or blogger.com domain, so it has a high domain authority yet the page authority is low. It could be a really long tail query that there's not much competition for, it could be that it's a real new page that's getting a temporary boost in Google, or it could be that there's been a lot more page authority gained since our last crawl and the PA will be higher with the next release.

Fresh Web Explorer: Will frequent posting of relevant links to own content in comments of blogs and articles hurt rankings?
Fresh Web Explorer finds daily about 10 articles/blog posts where I could post in comment section a relevant link to content on my own website, which I really belief may be of interest to many readers of the articles. I would like to do this for the traffic that these links are generating to my site (intention is not ranking improvement).

Would I need to be concerned that it could affect negatively my ranking if I post so many times links to my own site in the comment sections and also considering that I would always link to the same about 5 landing pages on my site? To give some context. The site for wich I want to build links for is long established PageRank 6 site with legit links from about 1000 different root domains. I would only post to articles published within last 48h. Would I need to be concerned about the frequency of the posting and if so, any ideas what may be a reasonable frequency to post my links?0 -
One of my sites got hit with the exact match domain algo change in google.
one of my sites got hit with the exact match domain algo change in google. I was wondering if it would be trouble or beneficial to add about 10 directory links in the the highest page rank directories in the seomoz directory list. It looks like i only have about 17 root domains linking to my site so far that are natural links and not directory links. i have no directory links as of yet. Will this help or does it spell trouble getting this many directory links in a few months? Thanks mozzers! Ron

SEOMOZ Crawling Our Site
Hi there, We get a report from SEOMOZ every week which shows our performance within search. I noticed for our website www.unifor.com.au that it looks through over 10,000 pages, however our website sells less than 500 products so not sure why or how so many pages are trawled? If someone could let me know that would be great. It uses up a lot of bandwidth doing each of these searches so if the amount of pages being trawled reduced it would definitely assist. Thanks, Geoff

What's Happened To OSE's External Links For My Site?
Hi, I'm just taking my first steps with Open Site Explorer. I've hit a problem that I'd be really grateful for some help with. I'm running a website (that I didn't create) and want to get a clear picture of the inbound links. When I enter the URL into the OSE search bar, there are no external domains listed under the 'Inbound Links' and 'Linking Domains' tabs. Only internal site links are registered. Setting the filters, "only external" + "pages on this root domain", under the Inbound Links tab, does bring up a list of external sites. But I haven't had to enter filters just to see a list of inbound links with any other sites. Also, the breakdown under the Linking Domains tab remains the same - only links within my site are shown. Does this ring a bell? Any ideas what I might be doing wrong, or what might be wrong with my site to cause this problem? Cheers for helping, Josh

Why do some sites have a higher Page Authority than Domain Authority in OSE??
Hi, I have noticed when using OSE and enter a domain you very often see a higher Page Authority than Domain Authority. If someone could explain why this would happen then I would be very grateful - its my current understanding that page authority would ALWAYS be LESS THAN Domain Authority but that is not always the case (I have seen cases where PA is more than 10 higher then DA) Here's an example where PA > DA http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/links.html?site=www.primelocation.com Thanks

Is anybody else having great difficulty in finding good link opportunities on Open Site Explorer?
I've been using OSE for a while now, and I'm struggling to see any value in it. When I search my competitors link profiles, I find just hundreds and hundreds of crappy reciprocal links, splogs or the like. I have to go through days and days (thousands of links) before I find anything worth using. Is anybody having this sort of problem? Thanks

SEOMoz SERP Overlay Vs. Opensite Explorer
This may be a simple answer, but when I search for a term and see a website on the SERP, the SEOMoz tool bar shows link data beneath the link. For this site in particular, it shows 300+ links for the root domain and for the page, it shows 8 links. When I put that website in opensite explorer, it shows the same data for the "Page" stats (8 links from 3 root domains), but nowhere can I find where the 315 links from 4 domains comes from. So my questions is why do those links show in the SERP overlay, but not in OSE? il5y9.png

Domain authority decrease after open site explorer update. Reasons?
Hi! I just noticed a decrease on our domain authority and also the page authority of several of our pages on the SeoMoz toolbar. For instance, DA went from 34 to 29. I was scared and confused, so I went to check it on the opensite explorer and saw that it had been updated. I want to ask you guys if the same happened with your metrics or is it just us. Because the strange thing about it is that we have been doing some good optimization work lately and also some linkbuilding, and actually our SERP’s have been improving in general, and some specific ones have been performing great. Our website is http://www.inmonova.com as a reference. Can anyone cast some light into this?
