Link Building the Right Way?
-
There are still a few things that I need clarifications for link building. I have joined many forums and I am following some big website (Seomoz / search engine watch / search engine land) and such for ideas about link building.
There are various different suggestions among them for example about Create a blog, Profile links, Article directories,Web 2.0 submission,Press release submission, Infographic submissions,Company directory submissions,Video submissions,Niche specific directories,Logo/Graphic/Web design directories,Free web directories,Non-English directories,RSS directories,Guest posting,Games Submission's and social bookmarking, Blog commenting, Forum posting.Q&A,Wiki Links,Local listings,Getting trackbacks. one would say to use it the other would say not to, can you please guide as to what is the right way to follow these suggestions.
Also nofollow backlinks have any effect on the SERP?
Thanks.

KLLC,
As always great content is the way to go when it comes to link building. My suggestion is create great content, and then repurpose it for other mediums. Once you've created a killer video for example feel free to submit it, over a series of days, to all of the video sites such as VIMEO and YouTube. Then write about your award winning video, do a press release about it that you can submit to a PR Web and maybe even offer a guest post on another website talking about your video.
That's just one example of how you can link build using all of the strategies that you mentioned. In the end even as Parvesh mentioned it shouldn't be about getting links, but about getting links on sites that are relevant to your niche.

Nofollow links do not have any direct effect on the SERPs, but it certainly helps in diversifying your link portfolio and and earn some value in the eyes of Google ( As Google wants a natural link portfolio. So, they want to see a site having both do follow and no follow links).
Also, don't try associate links only with search engine ranking. If your links are placed on some good blog/sites on prominent areas, those links shall be treated as a positive vote and would also increase your referral traffic.
Besides, you cannot do all the things in just one go, but you'll have to select a few activities to start with and gradually can increase the no of activities.
You can start with Guest Blogging, Q & A, Community Participation and Web 2.0 Submissions. This way you get a chance to showcase your expertise and build credibility among your customer/ potential customers.

Uk link building
Hello mozzers, I have a UK website that I have slowly been building high quality links to from highly trusted websites, traffic is slowly but steadily rising. So far all the links i've built are on UK websites. I've discovered there are many opportunities to get links from loosely related US websites. Would links from highly trusted US domains help my UK rankings? Would they help, but not as much as UK links? I'd be very grateful to hear anyones thoughts on this. Thank you so much!

How to make a wrong link profile right
Hello Moz, I want to do SEO a website that is 2 years old and in a different language from English. That website has a very wrong link profile. It has totally about 1500 inbound links and 90% of these inbound links are to home page. Also somewhat of these inbound links are from low quality web sites that have less than 80 inbound links. I think that I can follow 2 strategies to solve this link building problem. First strategy is only link building to internal pages till inbound links to internal pages reach about 80% of total inbound links. Second strategy is disavowing low quality inbound links to homepage and link building to internal pages till again same condition occurs. I think if I only implement link building, I have to produce a large number of content. But if I disavow many inbound links, will I encounter a sharply lose in rankings? If you have a different idea to solve this problem, I will be glad to hear. Also I wonder that if I follow these strategies, how fast I have to implement these? Thanks in advance for your interest.

Content Marketing and Link Building Strategy in Industrial B2B
We struggle link building because engineering sector has few blogs and is much more traditional than many industries. I've just had a new idea on how to do this and wanted to bounce it off people to help refine it and improve it. Search LinkedIn for "content marketing" or similar Refine by Industry etc Ask people on resulting list to guest post on our blog - which is focused on engineers in our sector Then..... For us it boosts our blog content with high quality posts that are interesting for our audience and maybe some traffic benefit. For them it provides SEO benefits and possibly some market exposure. How can I parlay this into getting a link back as well? What else can I do to make it more effective? Cheers Denis

Appropriate way to do the "Link to us" stuff.
We have just developed a nice web app, and we are excited how quickly its getting popular (based on facebook likes, shares etc). Everybody just loves it! Now, majority of the traffic to our website comes from Google Adwords, and the website is quite new. I was just wondering if I place a snippet about "Link to us" with a HTML code. What are your thoughts? If 200 people link to us, they will be using the same anchor text, isn't this unsafe? I would really appreciate some expert advice on the above. Thanks!

Article submissions for link building- what sites do you still use?
Hey Everyone, Long-time SEO'er first time poster here. I've been doing SEO for around 5 years but since starting my company The Search Ninjas last year I've been so bogged down with client work that I feel like I'm starting to fall behind on what's still effective from a link building perspective since all of my clients are local businesses and since we've been focusing so much attention on Google Places. My question is- are there any general article sites that you still use for SEO since the Panda update last year (that you firmly believe still offer "juice"), or do you mainly focus on niche sites and guest-blogging? I'm looking for ideas regarding how to find content submission opportunities for clients for link building purposes. I'm familiar with Ontolo and the Whitespark Link Prospecting Tool in terms of ways to find opportunities (and of course cherrypicking competitors' links using OSE and SEOSpyglass), any other recommendations? Best, George ps clients are in legal niche for the most part if that helps you out, but this is mainly me looking for everyone's general opinion.

Any Tips for Link Building for Boring Topics/Businesses?
I have a number of clients that own businesses in 'boring' sectors, such as: Toxic Waste Removal Steel Erecting Household Plumbing (Boilers, etc...) Link building for these sites is quite difficult. Creating compelling content and 'link bait' is particularly tricky. I found a good post from Michael Gray on the subject, but I don't think food (or McDonalds in this case)is a particularly difficult subject to write about. Any more tips on how to approach this would be appreciated. Thanks
