Have my SERP listings been hacked?
-
When you Google my site the organic search results look normal. The preview site images even display my actual site when you roll over the results. However, when you click a result you are directed to various Spam pages, not my website. How is this possible?
This only happens when you click through from search engines. If you type the URL directly in your browser, you are not redirected to a spam site.
the site: funeralhomeoptions.com
Have any of you seen or experienced this before?

Hi Emily
Just making sure you're all set. I can't seem to replicate the issue any more and I see you have the latest version of WordPress installed now.
If you need any further reference on securing WordPress this is a nice guide on their site - Hardening WordPress
The rest of the advise here looks great, thanks so much Majid and Nakul for helping out!

That would be ok if you use these plugin as well :

Interesting link Majid. It does detect the malware on Emily's website.

Clearly, it's the code injection we have been talking. I hope you are able to find the malicious code and remove it.

This is a code injection kind of spam that you have been hit with. I suggest you go ahead and upgrade your wordpress to the latest version as well as the plugins and themes.
The code injection is either placed within mySQL database in the wp_options table or inside your header files.

It could be your site is hacked and malware added on your site code. I had the similar attack before. It takes away your search engine traffic to another site (it doesn't redirect you if you are logged in so sometime people never notice it).

You should check index.php file or header.php and ... in your template folder and .htaccess files as well.

I've heard of this before with Wordpress being hacked. I'm having one of our associates who is an expert at WP come over and comment and help walk you through a fix.

Recovery After A Hack - No Manual Action Notice
Hi Guys, I am helping out an agency who have had a couple of site hacked on their server. I can confirm by correlating increase in not found errors and drop in rankings, that the drop was definitely hack based although the site had no manual action notice from Google. The site looks to have been fixed i.e all not found pages look to have been sorted. Obviously there are some dodgy backlinks to now non existant pages but it looks like two months on no sign of a recovery. Is this normal?, Could the site still be hacked and the web designer is claming it has been cleaned up? I am used to dealing with hacked sites when there has been a manual action listed and then it's quite easy to complete the clean up work, submit a reconsideration and then get the manual action revoked but when you don't receieve a manual notification and the site doesn't recover, what do you do? Kind Regards Neil

Yahoo Local SERPs Index Issue
I recently updated all my website page Titles and was checking to see how many have been crawled so far. On Yahoo/Bing I noticed something very strange when entering site:bandpages.ie in the search field. Selection Buttons (top of SERPs): 'Web' search shows all my pages indexed 'UK' has has most pages 'Only In Ireland' has just 1 page indexed - which is the site RSS Feed and nothing else! The site has been live for 2 years now. Considering we don't trade with the UK and our main focus is here in Ireland - what is going wrong? Why doesn't Yahoo/Bing index list the site pages in the Ireland index? Any insights or solutions appreciated...

Why aren't review score metadata appearing on the SERP for this page?
The page in question is: http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/sony-rx100/sony-rx100A.HTM Review metadata checks out in google's rich metadata tester, but doesn't get displayed on the SERP for "Sony RX100" (see second page).
