About link from .edu website

If you have a website on designs is it worth getting a link from an .edu site
-
Thank for always helping me Nakul cheers....in b/w am also planning to do sponsoring on other blogs in India but I dont know how many sponsoring (specific number) I can do in one month...

Is it a natural link ? It really depends how you are getting it and what the context of the link is. Let's say you designed a professor or a departments' website hosted on a .edu, yes, it makes sense to have a Designed by link. If the professor has a list of web design resources and mentions your website, that's also a great link. But if it's a comment link or on a forum or something else...that would probably mean there are a lot of other unrelated links as well and therefore not a good link.
I hope this helps Shashank.

Inbound link is follow link but we put no follow link back - is it beneficial for rankings?
Dear Moz Community, We are operating in a niche market, where there are not so many content marketing options. What we are left with are link exchanging with relevant sites that are on the same topic but to not directly compete with us. Now we know that if we link back to site A and site a links back to us - for google this is not a very good link. But, some of the sites we are exchanging links with, do not know the term follow vs no follow links. My question - if your link is to site A is a no follow link but they give us a follow link - does it mean thats a better option than a follow vs follow. Thanks for help!

Old links
I am looking to remove some old directory links that now look spammy. Some years ago the site was redesigned. The links are all to the old pages url, which is 301 redirected to the new. If we remove the 301 and let the page 404, will that suffice in Googles eyes?

Are .edu links really better?
Getting .edu links seems to be the Holy Grail for many SEOs and link builder. I understand how difficult it can be to get a link from a .edu domain that happens to cover topics in your industry. What I am wondering is, has there been any studies/tests to determine if .edu links are more powerful that a link from a trusted/relavant .com? All things being equal (DA, PA, etc.), is the .edu better? What if the .com has slightly better metrics, is the .edu still better for SEO? I haven't been able to find any expert blog posts about the added value.

Are 36 links from one site to nested pages better than one link to the root domain?
I have a Driving School website www.1stclassdriving.co.uk. The site is structured geographically with 36 area pages, one

page per area post code and one page per Driving Instructor. I am trying to develop links and have found a site (da91 pa

wish. Is it best to just create one link to the root page or
should I create 36 individual links to each area page? - which is most valuable?0 -
Different Link Titles Linking to the same page
So I'm doing a lot of link building but my question is how do search engines treat different link titles to the same page. For example, my main page is www.musillawfirm.com If I have 20 links from 20 sites linking to it as Melbourne FL DUI Lawyer and 20 more linking as Melbourne FL immigration Lawyer and More linking as Cocoa FL DUI lawyer etc... what happens? Do the search engines just rank me higher for all the terms or would it be better to always just link to separate landing pages? Thanks in advance
