Is a no-follow link/sponsored link a good editorial link?
-
Ok maybe this is a dumb question. I really need some better, more quality backlinks pointing to my site.
There is a site that has domain authority of 72, page rank 5 that is offering me a sponsored blog post.
Do sponsored posts count as a good editorial link? Also what if they are no-follow (and how would I find out ahead of time), does that still give me link juice?
-
It won't give you link juice. It might give you traffic, but probably not a lot. There are probably other opportunities that your time/money are better spent on.
-
Yes they disclose that it is sponsored.

Nofollow links do not pass link juice - Google may still crawl them for informational purposes, but they won't count toward your overall domain profile quality. I would only pursue sponsored posts/editorial links if you're confident that the blog's audience is a good match for you - i.e. treat it like an ad, not like link building.
I would be extremely cautious about buying sponsored links. If the person doesn't disclose that they've been compensated for a blog post, they could be in violation of FTC guidelines. A reputable sponsored post SHOULD nofollow their links, otherwise you would be in violation of Google's paid links policy: http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=66736

Thanks for your reply. Is it better to have 2 good quality backlinks (editorial) vs one excellent one?
For example:
domain1 has a domain authority of 52 with a page rank of 4
domain2 has a domain authority of 72 with a page rank of 5
Both fit well into my niche, but the offbeatbride bride post is $475 more and wasn't sure if the higher domain authority and page rank is worth it in terms of getting a boost from Google.

Hi there,
Actually the sponsored posts is still good way of getting a good rankings for your keyword. Just make sure that this website has theme relevant to yours and the post itself will be unique not copied.
If the following link will be no-follow then it is depend on how much you are going to pay for it. I can't really say that no-follow links are not carrying any value for SEO, especially after many updated done by Google.
To find out if the link is no-follow you can use http://www.seomoz.org/seo-toolbar
Hope it help

Can you get "link juice" from an outside company's/organization's intranet?
Will you get the same "link juice benefits" from a University, Government Org, or public company's intranet that are linked to your webpages – vs the benefits that you would get from links from their public webpages? Assume that the external webpages have very high Domain Authority, MozRank/Trust etc.

What are the pros and cons of using a link builder? Can link building be outsourced?
Hi, I have great content on my website which I would like to build external links to from other websites. I am told this will increase my domain authority and ultimately help search engine ranking positions. I have very limited time in my hands and now thinking of outsourcing the link building component to a specialist. Is this a good way of doing it? Could you recommend professional link builders?

Links from Real Estate Websites Link Page, Do or Don't?
It seems that real estate sites have at times been under heavier scrutiny from the search engines. But real estate agents get networking, which makes acquiring those links a little bit easier. Plus with localization of search, I think real estate sites may give off a good GEO scent. Should SEO's go for links from real estate websites? Does a reciprocal link devalue said links?

Link building
I have two separate websites on different servers and was wondering that since reciprocal links effectively eliminate each other, I'm curious if this link strategy will keep the links counting. Here's the strategy: I will have someone link to my site A and if i link to their site from my site B in a three way link strategy, will the links count even though both my site A and B have me listed as the Whois so Google knows that both sites are owned by me? Or will the links be discounted as reciprocal? Thanks in advance for your feedback! Take care, Ron

Twitter followers and link campaigns
Hi All, This may be a silly question but I like to ask the obvious 🙂 If i had acround 3,000 twitter followers and wanted to embark on a link campaign, would it be wise to simply tweet out to all and essentially say, please link to my site XXXX or would it be better to select individual followers and email them directly? I was wondering if its just a 'win win' with tweeting followers or whether poor links from some users might cause more harm than good. Thanks all
