Calculating page visit duration for bounced visits?
-
IS there any way on Google Analytics to calculate page visit duration for bounced visits? if so, what would need to be done?
-
The definition of a bounce does not change. Any user that enters your site and leaves without interacting with the site again is a bounce.
The key phrase there is "interacting with the site". An interaction might be another pageview or an event.
The code listed above fires an event after 3 minutes, so those users are no longer classified as bouncers. They interacted again.

thanks. does adding the timeout method change the definition of a bounce on GA?
meaning, if someone bounces, i still want it to show as a bounce - but I also want to see the time they were on the page.

Completely inaccurate.
The Google search ranking algorithm is completely separate from that of Google Analytics. The search algorithm's definition of a bounce is based on when a user comes back to the SERPs after visiting your page. That metric wouldn't change no matter what you do to your Google Analytics (unless you somehow muck up the GA snippet so much that it causes page load delays and actually affects user behavior).

thanks, I was reading somewhere that it affects the actual bounce rate, making it lower than it is and at some point google would take notice and lower rank.
how accurate is that?

You need to add setTimeout() method in your Google Analytics Tracking code something like this:
_setTimeout(“_gaq.push(['trackEvent','Profitable Engagement','time on page more than 3 minutes'])”,180000);

How do I create a segment that shows me all pages using a certain keyword? But nothing that doesn't have that keyword?
There must be an easy answer to this, but I can't seem to find it. All I want to do is create a segment in Google Analytics that shows all pages and search strings with "orthopaedics" in the title, with pageviews, uniques etc. If I simply navigate to "All Pages" in Google Analytics and then click Advanced Filters and do an Include Page Contains "orthopaedics" it works just fine. (See attached Screen Shot) But when I try to recreate this as a segment, it pulls in all other pages the users visited before arriving on the orthopaedics page I want to include, which I don't want. I can manually exclude each URL I don't want, but this is tedious and I feel there must be a simpler method I'm just missing. At the end of the day, I'm trying to create a list of every page and dynamically created query string that includes the word "orthopaedics" to say doctor X, your orthopaedics section generated X views, and here's a list of the pages. Any idea why this page is an absolute magnet for bots?
This page on our client's website seems to be an absolute magnet for bots, and it's skewing our Google Analytics stats: https://cbisonline.com/us/catholic-socially-responsible-esg-investing/proxy-voting/ We already filter out lots of bots in GA, primarily through a segment we created several years ago and continue to build upon, but plenty of spam traffic still manages to slip through – mostly to the page above. Last quarter, almost all of it came from two random cities in Europe, so we're going to filter out traffic from those places. (At least for now – not an ideal solution, I know.) But I'm really wondering what drives so many bots to that page in particular. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Bounce Rate Extremely Low
Bounce rate for one of my client's website has drastically reduced. Its below 5%. Have ensured that GA code is placed only once. Any help or tips in identifying the root cause is much appreciated. Shall be happy to share the URL if required.

Less than 7% bounce rate
I've just taken on a new client and on first look at their Google Analytics they are getting a bounce rate between 7% and 0%. Frankly I'm amazed if this is correct as between 1 April 2017 and 21 June 2017 they've driven 6403 session to the site from a range of referrers as well as AdWords (which has a 0% bounce rate), so traffic is pretty good. I've never seen such a low bounce rate which is making me suspicious, what can I do to check it's all recording properly? Any other ideas or have I found a near perfect site in terms of bounce? Does analytics track an order two times by refresh on the confirmation-page?
Hi there,
Reporting & Analytics | | Webdannmark
I have a quick question. Does Google analytics track an order two times, if the user buys a product, see the confirmation page and then click refresh/click or back and forward again?
The order/tracking data must be the same, but i guess the tracking code runs for every refresh and therefore tracks the order two times in Analytics or does analytics know that it is the same order? Someone that can clearify this? Thanks! Regards

Previously performing page no longer ranking
The best performing page on my website www.danielalexandra.com/personal-training/ has suddenly completely fallen off the google radar and all of my ranking results for keywords have dropped significantly as a result. My domain is only 4/5 months old but was already becoming relatively competitive and generating some interest until this? Any ideas as to why this may have happened?

Increase in 'Googlebot-Image' visits in analytics
Hi, I noticed a substantial increase in 'Googlebot-Image' visits data under Technology>Browser & OS in Google analytics for a few clients. Is this a bug? Are there any known fixes apart from just adding a filter to exclude the data? Regards Niladri

Is there any web analytics tool that let us track number of outgoing clicks (and visits) ?
I just wonder if we can measure outgoing visits from a specific URL with an online tool or not?
