Should I use bolded keywords for keywords in the content throughout the page?
-
If I'm trying to optimize for a specific keyword, should I bold all of the keywords that appear in the content of the page or just one or two? or none at all?
-
Use if it truly is a point of emphasis in the context of the copy. Another reason not to do it has been mentioned in several recent posts.....It gives away the keywords you are trying to optimize to your competitors if you are too obvious.
-
if anything it could get you in trouble for over-optimisation, the only reason why I would ever bold keywords is if I honestly thought it could somehow improve the readability of the content or benefit the readers
-
It shouldn't be penalised provided you don't go over the top with it. Making certain words bold can be used for visitor purposes to make parts of the content easier to find. Don't go over the top and certainly don't do it for SEO purposes but as long as you go over the top you should be fine. On a side note, the benefit it adds (arguably) is very minimal anyway so it isn't something to spend much time doing, if at all.

I have 4 keywords bolded on my homepage all with the same term in them.
Would panda penalise this? i recently saw that one keyword drop in rankings.

Mostly agree with Geoff.
If you are trying to make a point or draw a user's eyes, it's ok to use. Just don't do it for "SEO" value, do it for user value.
-
Probably none of them. Don't do anything that has no benefit to your actual visitors.

What's better for SEO a page per review or a page with all reviews?
Was wondering what's better for SEO. We have a platform where consumers can read and write reviews. But the question is: is it better to give one page per company with all the reviews on it? Or should we have different pages for the specific company? Example: Itunes has a company page with all reviews on the page, but not the whole review. You have to click further to view the whole review (new page), at the moment this the current situation. What if we place the whole reviews on the company page, so you don't have specific pages for the reviews? Hopefully can someone help us out. Contact me if it's not clear or you want more extended information. Kind regards

Home page or landing page?
Hello, I want to ask a question related to that - Should we put keywords in the home page title if we wish to position another landing page better for particular keywords? I have read in one website about SEO that it's good the main keywords of your website to be positioned in homepage title also. f.e. Let's say we have website about web-design and our company is named Company Ltd. The title of the home page is "Company Ltd. - Web design, SEO, etc" We have also another inner page named "Web design | Company Ltd.". So should we leave the first page name only "Company Ltd." and the landing page's name "Web design | Company Ltd." . I don't know if they both have the same keyword in their title they won't compete with each other.

"City page" links in footer of home page: Spammy?
Is listing a bunch of links to city pages in the footer of a home page considered "spammy" to Google? (ie- Chicago Alarms, Illinois Alarms, Naperville Alarms, etc.) What are the negative affects this might have on ranking, if any?

Should I use bold for the first few sentences of a text?
I would like to know if anyone knew if the relevance of a page changes if I bold the first few sentences. Our journalist wants to bold the first few sentences in every article to make it easier to read, how does that affect SEO?

2 URLs, same content, 1 with keywords. Does this hurt me?
I'm in the process of adding some new features to our site and have a question about our URLs. Most of our URLs consist of either sitename.com/contentname or sitename.com/content/contentid I'm in the process of building a directory to those pages. The directory has a number of filters which will ultimately point to the destination page. sitename.com/filter1/filter2/contentid or sitename.com/filter1/filter2/contentname The destinations will have references. From an SEO perspective, I would think I want the filter1/filter2 version of the link indexed since this will add keywords that someone might search for. However, since the filters are dynamic, if someone just searches for contentname I would want to have sitename.com/contentname returned in the search results. Do I get any SEO benefit out of building those filter links as described if they are not the canonical links?
