Backlink density & disavow tool
-
I am cleaning up my backlink profile for www.devoted2vintage.co.uk but before I start removing links I wanted some advice on the following:
I currently have over 2000 backlinks from about 200 domains. Is this a healthy ratio or should I prune this?
Is there a recommended max number of backlings per domain?
Should I delete links to all or some of the spun PR articles (some of the article web pages have over 40 articles with links back to us)
-
Ok do a thing. First figure it out what type of links they are - directories, social book mark, article submission sites, RP sites ..
_Once you are done, you need to sort them via PR and look at the anchor texts. If they are exact matched keywords, you need to get rid of them, do not do anything with natural anchor texts like click here, website name etc. _
_Look at the quality of the sites from where the links are coming.. check their moz rank, check the quality of the content of the website... if they score bad in all these fronts, just get them removed and you will just be fine .. _

THanks, I have created a spreadsheet of all the backlinks. How should I determine if they are causing harm?
-
Hi,
_Do not delete all the links. You need to figure it out which links are causing harm to your website and which links are rather adding some value. Sometimes, you just to make changes in the anchor texts, no need to remove the links completely. So have an excel file, and get all the links there. Check them manually whether they are detrimental to the visibility of the website or not. So, do not press the panic button; analyze the links first before you remove them all. _

I just visited www.devoted2vintage.co.uk and the MOZ Bar said your home page has 4.992 links from 228 root domains.
There is no recommended max number of links per domain that I know of. If those sites are linking to you in a natural way, then there isn't a problem. If a lot of them have your site's link site wide, then I'd look into doing something about that.
I would delete links from anything spun, but beyond that, if you don't yet have a Google penalty, don't go too overboard. Some times people get overly paranoid and delete links that aren't hurting them.

Crawl Attempt Errors & Homepage Not Ranking
Hi all, I have scanned the community forum thoroughly to find a solution to this issue and noticed some detailed and informed responses, but I am not sure which apply to the issue we are currently having. We are receiving a lot of 803 Crawl Attempt Errors on a weekly basis for our site www.mangofurniture.co.uk and also our homepage isn't ranking and I can't help but think that the two are linked. We have some rankings for the internal pages and have a couple of other sites that use the same template as www.mangofurniture.co.uk that are doing well with no crawl attempt errors and strong homepage rankings. There are a lot of great resources out there on the Moz forum and elsewhere but I am little unsure what applies to our problem or whether to two are linked at all. We have tried rewriting the homepage and developing the internal linking system but to no success as yet. Also, because the site is fairly new so the link profile is quite small at present. Any advice regarding this would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

Existing content & 301 redirects
Hi All, I will try to keep this to the point. One of our websites was hit by penguin for unnatural linking. We are building a new site (same business, different domain), but we would like to take some of the pages/content off the old website and use it on our new site. Is it just a case of copying each page onto our new site and 301 redirect the old URL? Or should I just be completely rewording/recreating the old content so it is unique? Any help on this would be great, but I am also open to alternate methods too. Thanks Lewis

How to Remove a website from your Bing Webmaster Tools account
I have a site in Bing Webmaster Tools that I no longer work on. I can't seem to find where to delete this website from my webmaster tools account. Anyone know how (there doesn't seem to be anything obvious under Bing Help or on a Google Search).

Should I Use the Disavow Tool to for a Spammy Site/Landing Page?
Here's the situation... There's a site that is linking to about 6 articles of mine from about 225 pages of theirs (according to info in GWT). These pages are sales landing pages looking to sell their product. The pages are pretty much identical but have different urls. (I actually have a few sites doing this to me.) Here's where I think it's real bad -- when they are linking to me you don't see the link on the page, you have to view the page source and search for my site's url. I'm thinking having a hidden url, and it being my article that's hidden, has got to be bad. That on top of it being a sales page for a product I've seen traffic to my site dropping but I don't have a warning in GWT. These aren't links that I've placed or asked for in any way. I don't see how they could be good for me and I've already done what I could to email the site to remove the links (I didn't think it would work but thought I'd at least try). I totally understand that the site linking to me may not have any affect on my current traffic. So should I use the Disavow tool to make sure this site isn't counting against me?

Google Webmaster tools vs SeoMOZ Crawl Diagnostics
Hi Guys I was just looking over my weekly report and crawl diagnostics. What I've noticed is that the data gathered on SeoMoz is different from Google Webmaster diagnostics. The number of errors, in particular duplicate page titles, content and pages not found is much higher that what google webmaster tools is represents. I'm a bit confused and don't know which data is more accurate. Please Help

Google Webmaster tools error?
So I am trying to set the URL preference in google webmaster tools for my site. However when I try to save it it tells me to verify that I own the site. I have already done this so where can I go to verify I own the site exactly? Maybe I am wrong and I have not done this already but even on the homepage of webmaster tools I don't see an option to "verify".
