Easy way to import metadata into Drupal 7?
-
We have to update the metadata for a drupal 7 website. We've already written them all out, and know exactly what URL they should go to. But I don't want to waste the client's money by spending any more time than is necessary on uploading the information to the site.
Is there a way to upload the information that isn't manual?

Thanks for the reply.
We ended up doing it manually, as we only had a few hundred pages to update. But I am going to keep this in my back pocket in case we run into the same issue with another client. Thanks again!

The only way that I am aware of would be to create a spreadsheet that matches the format of the metatag table in your database then creating a pattern using concatenation. The result would be an output to your data field that looked like - a:1:{s:11:"description";a:1:{s:5:"value";s:53:"This is a change for testing purpose in the database.";}}
I sure would not attempt this on a live site and if you dont have a sandbox set up for it already it might not be worth your time.
Another danger in uploading it would be how the cache_metatag table would be influenced.
Overall, unless you have thousands and thousands of entities I would do it the manual way.

More important SEO
Hello, I was wondering where my time is most valuable. I have a linking tree as follows: Main Site > Product > Specific Product Is the Product page more important to add SEO or is the end deep linked page "specific product" more important? I'm ready to hear the answers of whatever gives a better customer experience and both... Thanks!

No metadata rendering
For some reason, my spiders can't see a client's metadata even though I can see it in the source code. Any reason why that would happen?

Is there a way to tell Google a site has duplicated content?
Hello, We are joining 4 of our sites, into 1 big portal, and the content from each site gonna be inside this portal and sold as a package. We don't wanna kill these sites we are joining at this moment, we just wanna import their content into the new site and in a few months we will be killing them. Is there a way to tell Google to not consider the content on these small sites, so the new site don't get penalised? Thanks,

Best Way to Use Date in Title
Hi, I do most of the current copy for our blog which you can find here http://appointedd.com/blog/ I believe having a regular blog structure with a mix of irregular ad hoc posts to go in around these. So, for this blog, I write an article on "Beauty Industry News" every week. Now, I don't want to use the same title for each post, so I've peen butting in the date after each one i.e. "Beauty Industry News - 24/04/13". Is this best practice or is there a better way of naming regular posts? Thanks in advance!

Important keywords in product names
Hi! among other we sell motorcycle clothing, which you can buy as a set (both jacket and pants) or single piece. Currently we name the products with the labeling in the beginning, e.g: Motorcycle pants R2000, Motorcycle jacket R2000, Motorcycle kit R2000 Motorcycle pants R4000, Motorcycle jacket R4000, Motorcycle kit R4000 This is causing keyword stuffing and cannibalization in the category pages as all the product names include important keywords. On the other hand it would be beneficial to keep the labeling in the name for search queries for the exact product. What be your recommendations? I tend to take the labeling away.

How important is it to include the target keyword phrase in the page URL?
If I want to target a keyword phrase to a particular phrase, but do not want to change the URL of that page, will that negatively impact my rankings? I am also wondering if I can get around it by creating a new, short URL that 301 redirects to the original URL. Would that be as effective as including the keyword in the original URL?

How do I do a 301 Redirect in IIS 7 from http://www.freightmonster.com/index.html to http://freightmonster.com/index.html when I don't have a physical page to redirect?
I'm trying to get rid of my Rel Canonical links and use the 301 Redirect instead.

What's the Best Way to Hide Redirects from Search Engines?
Hey everybody, I like to use php redirects for affiliate links so they look better. I keep them all in the same directory. I read recently that these may hurt SEO. A couple quick questions: Is this the best way to redirect affiliate links? Should I simply block the directory in robots.txt? Any other suggestions from you SEO guyses and galz? Thanks! Jared
