Domain Name Acquisition

Hi
Anyone know how to get contact details for a domain owner beyond those provided by the likes of whois, archive etc etc ?
Cheers
Dan

The only action I can think of is sending a letter to the po box. If the domain owner has an email address, they are not required to respond.

Nice 1 ! Many thanks Ryan
It is a .com with no website, no contact details on whois apart from email address (not replied after weeks) and a p.o. box address. Techincal and admin contacts details are there but these are who are not replying emails
All Best

The rules vary for each domain type. For example, .com rules differ from .us rules.
In any case, when a domain is purchased, some details regarding the domain owner need to be shared with the registrar. Those details are mostly or entirely entered into the WHOIS registry for the domain.
If a domain lacks the legally required details, you can contact the entity which oversees the domain. In the case of a .com domain, you can make a complaint here: http://wdprs.internic.net/
The domain registrar is then contacted. They either need to provide the missing details or the domain is recalled.
Otherwise your options to obtain additional information are:
-
ask the domain registrar. They are highly unlikely to cooperate, but they may have additional info
-
examine the website, if any, on the domain. It may offer contact info
-
Google the domain owner's name and you may locate other contact information

Ooooh not sure, is there a website on the domain?

301 Redirect back to original domain
We have a site, domainA.com and we split part of the site off into it's own site a couple of years ago as domainB.com. All urls from DomainA were 301 redirected to DomainB, but with a different folder structure. For business reasons, we now shuttering domainB and rolling it back into domainA. For the 301 redirects for urls that were on the original domainA, should I overwrite them to the new folder structure directly from the original urls? In other words: 301 redirect domainA.com/oldstructure to domainA.com/newstructure rather than: Existing 301 redirect domainA.com/oldstructure to domainB.com/newstructuretopic with a new 301 redirect to domainA.com/newstructuretopictopic

Hey all -- ever seen a client with URLs that keep repeating the domain? Something like: client.com/client.com/client.com/subfolder-name. Any idea what glitch could cause that?

Redirect typo domains
Hi, What's the "correct" way of redirecting typo domains? DNS A record goes to the same ip address as the correct domain name Then 301 redirects for each typo domain in the .htaccess Subdomains on typo urls still redirect to www or should they redirect to the subdomain on the correct url in case the subdomain exists?

PR 6 Redirect to a brand new domain name
Hello all, I checked a lot fo blog posts about 301 redirects but wanted to double check with you all. I got an email from a potential client who want to do a re-brand of his business and decided to buy a new domain name.

His old domain name is PR 6 and his new domain obviously PR 0. I tried to check his old web site but it is too late as he has redirected everything to the new one. What it seems he has done though is redirect everything from his old domain (whether it is a sub category link, a blog link or a specific product) to the new domain index page. So for example if someone linked to his old product page www.xxxxxx.com/product/product_1 or his blog post www.xxxxxx.com/blog/11-21-2013/xxxxxxxxx.com in both cases it will take em to the new domain index page www.xxxxxx.com as he has not created product pages, blogs or anything than just a 4 page web site. I know that ideally he should have created same folders/subfolders, get his blog posts up and set up proper re-directs to the new pages but as I was not in charge of this process nor know if he has kept the old web site yet I wanted to know how bad is this for SEO and if his old PR 6 will pass value to his new domain. Change of domain name?
Hello, We are currently developing a new site for an existing online clothing retailer. The existing site is on a .co.uk domain, however we are targeting a global market and wondered whether we could/should launch the new site under a .com address and whether this would be beneficial? Most of our back links come from Affiliate blogs and we could quite easily change these to the new URL. Thanks Bilal

Duplicate content domains ranking successfully
I have a project with 8 domains and each domain is showing the same content (including site structure) and still all sites do rank. When I search for a specific word-string in google it lists me all 8 domains. Do you have an explanation, why Google doesn't filter those URLs to just one URL instead of 8 with the same content?
