Are there benifits to aquiring domain names with keywords of a niche site and redirecting them to the niche site?
-
I f i purchased a domain with keyword another one of my sites targeted and redirected it to that site are there benefits in doing so? & as long as the domain contained the keywords would it matter if the domain name contained another word?.
also would it be better to put just a few articles on the site and then point keywords in the article to the niche site?.

I do not think i explained my self very well there so i can understand your reply totally, in truth and without explaining in depth the process, the idea is simple good quality content linking to a domain with keywords in the URL pointed to a site which is also relevant.

Okay, I'm on my phone so no idea if this will format properly... 1. "from say unique wiki based articles, and built like a pyramid so good quality" - that sentence implies poor or, at best, indifferent quality. 2. Different C classes, names, servers, etc... Really? That's easier and of more benefit than just doing (shock, horror) real marketing? 3. No we're not just trying to beat the algorithm. SEO 'pros' are building traffic, brand recognition, and trying to do things in a way that works long term. What you're talking about is a short term scam that could easily end with your main domain getting kicked out of the SERPs. If it's your own site, go for it... If it's for a client then stop and think - you might just end up putting them out of business. I'm with the Oracle: buy beer

I guess this is an answer to seo5 & mat below which both of you have conflicting answers, first off the links would be from say unique wiki based articles, and built like a pyramid so good quality & mat the domains are not an exact match for the money site they are only geared towards keywords or phrases, also note i would purchase them in another name so no connection to the money site, also use a different class c to each domain, removing any connection apart from a link from a niche perspective, lets get it right here the idea of every seo pro is to beat the algerythem and think out side the box to do so.

Hey,
I would strongly advise you to be very careful when deciding whether or not to try these kinds of tactics. There are few things that could happen here, all of them bad:
- Nothing. Buying an exact match domain and adding a 301 in itself won't make a blind bit of difference to the target site.
- You build a load of spammy links into the domain that you're 301 redirecting to your main site. This ends up with an algorithmic penalty, which disappears when you remove the 301.
- As above but you get a manual penalty. Removing the 301 does nothing. You're screwed until the penalty expires (if it does).
- You build good links into the domain that you're 301 redirecting which helps the target site... but not as much as it would if you just built the links straight into it.
Exact match domains are on their way out so using this as a tactic to get better rankings just isn't going to work in the long term. Having said that, we all know that there are still instances where they rank very well when they possibly shouldn't, so if you really have to do something like this, create a separate site with some great relevant content and build good links into it. For now it might increase the chances you rank well, and will still be within guidelines as you're providing a good experience for your users.
Honestly... You'd be far better off spending your time, effort and money creating a video, building a really cool interactive resource, or making friends with some niche influencers. It'll be cheaper and give you more benefit in the long run.

Are there benifits to aquiring domain names with keywords of a niche site and redirecting them to the niche site?
I can't think of any benefits....
I think that this money would be better spent on beer.
-
yes as long as they are links from credible sources and not bad neighborhoods.
-
So In theory if i added back links to the domain even though it would be redirected they would benefit the other site in this way.
I could ad more links than usual reducing the possibility of being punished for adding to many to the money site so to speak?. in affect splitting the qty of links added on a daily basis between domains.

If the domain that you acquire has backlinks associated with it, then the 301 would help with SEO . After a while, those backlinks will be associated with your main domain and you can derive SEO benefit associated with it. If the domain has no backlinks then there isn't any SEO advantage to it. You can benefit from any direct traffic that domain gets because once you 301 it to your niche site, any direct traffic associated with that domain will now go to your nice site.

Keyword variation.
Hello dear community, I'm just starting to really understand how seo and in-page optimization works that to SEOMoz. I have done alot of seo for my other pages in the bad way expecting great results which acually hurt me more than help 😞 So right now I'm working on application which takes screenshots of your desktop and upload small files on the portals you select. I have done the website (template and most of the content) but I would like to know when I'm going to start and build some links, what are some of the best keywords I should choose? I do understand already than this is not an exact math, but any kind of help would be awesome! I would like to focus more around "screenshot" keyword and not that much on file upload. I know I may ask kind of much, but anything is better. With great respect, Akhlis

Exact Domain Match URL
Hello I have a few competitors ranking VERY well for exact keyword match URL. They have a single hosted page, when a customer clicks to buy inventory ir re-directs to there main url. Will google eventually catch on to this? Excellent position, very little backlink/seo work. Is this something that I should also look into for my own site? Thank you!

How do I best leverage second EMD domain with same keyword as an important page on my other site?
(Fictional domain names and keywords follow) Let's say I have an Adense site called Diets.com And on that site I've got 10 pages for the ten most popular diets, and each of those pages is optimized for the diet name. Let's imagine one of these pages is called, "The low-carb diet." Then I went out and purchased the domain name LowCarbDiet.com. How do I best use this new domain name? My options seem to be: 1. Build an adsense site on LowCarbDiet.com. But isn't it a problem when the the same owner of LowCardDiet.com and Diets.com are trying to rank for the same keyword? The new site would be trying to rank for "low carb diet" and so would the appropriate page on Diets.com. I think Google doesn't like this. True? 2. Make a one-page introductory informational site with no ads on the new LowCarbDiet.com. Have a prominent link from that site to the appropriate page on Diets.com for the reader to get "further information." This link with the proper anchor text should help boost the page in Diets.com in the SERPs. IF Google doesn't dislike that. SO...is one idea better than the other? Are neither a good idea? Is there a better way to utilize this new domain? It's important because this second domain name's keyword is about to get a huge amount of search traffic. The new, parked domain name is currently registered in the same name as the existing site's name. I could change the registration or privacy it, but I assume Google maintains records of all past registered owners, and if so, I can't really hide ownership.

Open Site Explorer - Finding 404s from my competitor's external linking Root Domains
I want to find websites that have linked 404s to my competitors. My goal is to contact webmasters who have linked to my competitors with 404s, but I cannot figure out how to get Open Site Explorer to give me that data. I can easily see this in GWT for my own site, but I need this for my competition instead. Does anybody know a quick way to get this information?
