Which one should I use Schema.org or Microformats.org
-
Hi,
I would like to know which one is better to use Schema.org or Microformats.org
My CMS doesn't support Schema.org attributes, I can only use Microformats.org documentation, but I wanted to knwo if Schema.org is better one, so I will change my CMS and use another one.

No problem friend. If you remember the same happened with XML sitemaps standard. In the beginning there would be little resistance but going forward, the standards will be accepted and respected!!
Best regards,
Devanur Rafi.

Thnx again Rafi, I will need at first to use only microformats.org markup till I change my CMS to support Schema.org attributes, better to have one microdata than none.
Best regards

You are most welcome my friend. Your point is true to some extent as they want to bring in an uniformity in this case and they may tend to be biased towards the new standard a little bit so as to push it hard towards being widely accepted. So if you can, please switch over to the markup by schema.org or if lot of work has already been put in to this, you can just leave it as it is. Personally, I would switch over to the new standard by all possible means if there were a chance.
Good luck.
Best regards,
Devanur Rafi.

Thanks Rafi, I was just reading it, I found that Google Support some markup of both of them, however google is giving more value to Schema markup.
Thanks

Hi there,
There is nothing that you will be losing if you use the markup by microformats.org. However, to the possible extent, try to use schema.org as it is the standard that the 3 biggies in Search Engine landscape (Google, Microsoft and Yahoo) have come-up with. For more,

Correct use of schema for online store and physical stores
I have been getting conflicting advice on the best way to implement schema for the following scenario. There is a central e-commerce store that is registered to it's own unique address which is "head office". There are a few physical shops each of which has their own location and address. Each shop has its own landing page within /our-stores/. So each page on the website has the Organisation schema for the central 'organisation', something like: Then on each physical store landing page is something like the following as well as the Organisation schema: Is this correct? If it is should I extend LocalBusiness with store URL and sameAs for GMB listing and maybe Companies House registration? It's also been suggested that we should use LocalBusiness for the head office of the company, then Departmentwith the typeStore. But i'm not sure on that?

What is the optimum schema for a Website and how important is it really is for SEO?
Hey everyone,
Technical SEO | | artdivision
As you all probably has seen Google has changed their structure testing tool and alongside that has also changed what is considered as valid and not valid. I have been struggling with this question for quite a while now where opinions are really split. **1. How important is Schema for SEO? **
2. How far should you go Schema'ing your website pages? From the one hand i can see how it can be easier for a BOT to read a code that has proper "road signs" (our schemas markups), on the other hands, Google is already extremely clever is working out what is the header, sidebar or footer as well as review and or a blog posts (especially for those of us who use Wordpress. Would love to know if someone has seen a "Like to Like" show case with schemas and/or have some factual information regarding what should or shouldn't be done when it comes ot Schema. Dan. x1aw0 -
Wildly different topics on one domain? (hobby blogger)
Hello Mozzers, Let's say I have a lot of knowledge about a range of different subjects, for example: bicycle maintenance wildlife photography tennis racket re-stringing brewing beer windsurfing holidays I would like to share all of my knowledge in blog format with lots of good content, instructions, videos etc. What is the best way to set up my blogging empire?!... a) Use separate domains for each subject: www.BRANDbicyclemaintenance.com, www.BRANDbrewingbeer.com b) Use one brand domain with sub directories: www.BRAND.com/bicycle-maintenance/, www.BRAND.com/brewing-beer/ b) Use sub-domains: bicyclemaintenance.BRAND.com, brewingbeer.BRAND.com (I would like to achieve good rankings & traffic in order to generate a small income from these sites)

Multiple site in one? Recommendations?
I have 2 companies that essential do the same thing. They have different names and different domain names. One is a USA company and the other is a South American Company. My intnent was to create a single site with both english and spanish content and then create a english home page and a spanish homepage. I was hoping to direct the spanish domain name to the spanish homepage and the english to the english homepage. This way I will only have one site to maintain - one ecommerce site to maintain and can direct teh links to a single site - although they will essentially be kinda different. My question is... what are the pluses and minuses of doing this? Would I better creating 2 separate sites? is there going to be an issue with google maybe seeing duplicate content although the pages are seperate for each language? Any other considerations that I just wasnt smart enough to think of?

Switch domain from one account to another at domain registrar
We need to move our domain from one account to another at our domain registrar (which is Moniker). Both the "from" account and "to" account will be at Moniker. The "from" account currently has privacy settings enabled and we'd also put these in place for the "to" account. Has anyone done this and see any impact on SEO? Is there any big or common mistakes that I should be aware of? Thanks all!
