Attaining quality links from sites of a different language.
-
Working on a campaign for a Bed & Breakfast within non-english market.
The possibilities of establishing quality links is very limited. However, as it is most of the time, there are plenty of english sites we can target. What is the latest news on achieving link presence on a site that does not match your own site's language?
Given this campaign relates to travel; there shouldn't be an issue in achieving links on foreign sites, is there? Does the PR flow through just the same?
-
In short, get all the links.
For B&Bs, even if your site is in another language, you're still going to want listings on English travel sites like TripAdvisor, etc.
Ideally the links from English sites would link to the English version of your site, and non-English links would point to the appropriate language version of your site. This option will produce the best conversions from each regional market of potential guests.
-
Personally I think if the pages are related, the ranking factors pass without problems.

Do links from such sites as TripAdvisor give any weight or support for SEO
And what about other sites like quora or other niche forums/blogs where one might leave answers, with a link to their profile, which has a link back to the owner's website? _Cindy

I have links coming from spammy sites that DO NOT exist anymore... Disavow or not?
Hi There !!! I´m cleaning the link profile of one of our sites and making the typical analysis I have found the following scenario: All SEO tools that helped me to gather the data (WMT, opensite, majestic) are showing me that I have links coming from spammy sites that actually are not online any more. In other words, the spammy site where the link is coming is not alive (when I try to check the page itself I´m having a 404 or domain expired). My main question is… Should I disavow these domains links? or should I simply ignore them? We got an unnatural penalty and we are doing the whole proccess (checking sites, contacting, etc….). Many Thanks for your help

Unable to view link from Apprentices gov.uk site
Hi, I've noticed that when some companies are advertising for apprentices on the https://apprenticeshipvacancymatchingservice.lsc.gov.uk website they gain a followed link from the site. When I then use opensiteexplorer the link doesn't show. Does anyone know the reason for Moz not picking this up? Am I not giving it long enough to show? Your help would be very much appreciated.

Links from non existant sites?
Hi! I'm new at all this 🙂 I've taken a look at the backlink profile for one of my sites as it's seems its been hit by this last Penguin update. I'm finding links to my homepage from sites that no longer exist, like this one: http://mikimoto-pearls.org - does this hurt my backlink? I mean, I would figure it does since there's nothing there? If so, how do I get the link removed? Do I even need to? Disavow tool maybe? Thank you!

How to handle bad DoFollow links to pages on my site that no longer exist
I briefly had a forum on one of my sites, but after getting inundated with spam I decided to remove it for the time being. During the brief time it was up, most of the spammers were stopped from registering, but a few managed to get through and posted tons of links to their prescription drug sites. These posts were deleted almost instantly, but the spammers also created DoFollow backlinks on high authority community sites like ning. The forum posts they linked to were deleted immediately, so the links never went anywhere and the forum has been deleted entirely for a few months now. When clicked, the spam backlinks now bring someone to a "Sorry, that page doesn’t exist" page on my site. My site suffered a bit in the last Panda update and it made me look through my backlink profile, finding lots of these links - even though the pages on my site are long gone, could these links be hurting my site? Can a DoFollow link to a site help or hurt the main domain, even if the actual page it's linking to is deleted?

Advisable to pay for a link from a highly reputed site in same domain?
Is it okay to pay for a link if the site is a very highly reputed (PR4) one in the same domain as your site? Thanks

Is there a software to help me check whether the sites that i give link to, also place my link on their site (reciprocal link)?
When i exchange links with others, i usually put their link on my site hoping that they'll do the same. Since it's impossible to check all sites whose link i have placed on my page to see if they have put a link back to me, i was wondering whether there is a kind of software to help me do that!
