Has anyone noticed that there are no local results in their keyword rankings?
-
Is anyone else having this issue? The universal rankings are not populating in my keyword rankings tool for any of my clients. Is this something that SEOmoz changedrecently?

Glad to help!

Thanks Chiaryn!!! Great service and support!

Hi There,
William is correct. We recently had an issue with our rankings and our back up solution made it difficult for us to provide universal rankings for a time. A fix for the universal results was released on Thursday, January 3rd. I looked into your account and all of your campaigns that updated on Thursday or later are showing universal results now.
Please take a look and let me know if you still have any questions.

I opened a support ticket for this last week and they replied saying that it's a known issue and that the next time your campaign updates it will be functional again.

Keyword Research: Page Authority and Keyword Difficulty
A speaker at a conference suggested using your Page Authority (of home page) number as a benchmark in keyword research to compare against keyword difficulty number. So if you had a Page Authority score of 60, you would look for keywords with a difficulty of under 60 (using the MOZ metrics for keyword difficulty). Has anyone used these metrics in this way? Any success?

Rankings go up and down, up and down, up and down
Almost every week we have more than a two dozen keywords that will all suddenly increase in rank only to then decrease in rank right back to where they were the previous week. This happens constantly despite the fact that we are doing very little SEO-wise on a week-to-week basis. What might be causing these constant shifts?

Rankings w/ Geographic Bias
I'm looking for a way to see the right rankings with geographic bias in mind. As an example, is there a way to indicate to SEOMoz to pull Google Rankings for San Francisco. The most narrow I can get is by country which won't work for several clients. I know Linkdex does this but would love to know if SEOMoz has a similar capability? If not, does anyone know of another company besides Linkdex?

Local Rankings Drop?
G'morning! I got a disturbing report this morning that showed seven of our big keywords drop from high on the first page to not in the top 50. After further research I have found that we are now in Google's local cluster, but no longer on the traditional organic results. My question is this, has Google changed something that doesn't allow results in the local cluster AND in the traditional organic listings? I'm assuming that this is the case because we're doing smart SEO and have built these rankings up nicely over time, but then just fell off the face of the earth. I have attached a snapshot of Moz's Ranking History for a few of the keywords, as I assume this will help explain the story. (We're in green). Any insight would be much appreciated. Why does Rel Canonical show up as a notice?
In the crawl diagnostics screen "Rel Canonical" shows up as a notice for every page that has a rel="canonical" meta tag in it. Why is this the case? Shouldn't every page have a canonical tag on it to show the absolute URL to the content? Wouldn't a better notice be to display pages that do not have a canonical tag instead? I could be wrong but that would make more sense to me. (In fact.. let's be honest here.. I probably am wrong.. but I'd like someone to explain it if they could.) Thanks

Freaked out over domain authority ranking drop.
Should I be freaked out that website's domain authority dropped 4 points? Is it normal for websites to fluctuate a couple of points or have I really screwed something up?

Local search block seems to mess up ranking calculations!
Time and time again i see SEO moz come out with a new rankings report and tell me that I've gone up or down in the rankings by 9 and I get really excited. Then i go look at the search and once agian we are in the exact same position! What it seems like is sometimes SEO Moz decides to count the local search block, and other times it decides not too. Is there any way to fix this? To make it always count the local search block would be preferred.
