Has anyone heard of or worked with artificialintelligenceseo.com? Are they legit?

A client just brought them to my attention, seem to be making some ridiculous promises...

Interesting read, lets hope people see that before handing money over.

Two parts of their pdf at http://artificialintelligenceseo.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/AI-Product-overview-2.pdf raised my eyebrows.
For example - if 70% of your customer base is predominately Spanish speaking, Artificial Intelligence SEO will learn and understand that your potential customers looking for Mexican Restaurante are actually looking for Mexican Restaurant, and return to the search engine Mexican Restaurante making it an ideal match and creating a potential customer.
In order to better serve our customers and allow them to maintain their relationships with their long standing web designers, Artificial Intelligence SEO has developed the ability to “clone” a site which creates an aesthetic copy of the home page design and then automatically redirects the customer to the original site. This allows us to serve virtually every customer with no security risk to them, and allows us to protect our software by keeping it centrally located strictly within our server.
A more technical person can add better comments, but looks like they're making a copy of your website and changing things at will and presenting that to the search engine. It raises warning bells in my mind, and I look forward to someone being able to add more specific comments about why this is likely a bad idea.

Lots of testimonials but no company names, or job titles to go with the names.
Can't see anything showing any evidence of actual success on there... why can't they publish a case study or a client name, if the testimonials are that great then the clients wouldn't mind being quoted with their company names.
Seems like another load of old b****ks to me.

Penguin 2.0 Update - Just Hit - Google Messes up again, can anyone on SEOMOZ please tell me why or how some of these websites are ranking?
I am getting a bit tired now writing all of this so please excuse grammar and spelling mistakes, I wanted to post this up quickly tonight so I could possibly get some feedback by morning. So I feel I figured out some of the new update that just hit and I am sure the update will continue to keep coming and rankings will most likely change for a while, but I do have a few questions in the mean time if they stay. Please look below, why would some of those sites be ranking? Some sites utilize no onpage SEO, some no backlinks, one of the sites is a single page site and every page is a broken link even the contact us page and it's rank 1..... I am not 100% sure that Google got this one right. I see many instances below where other sites are much higher quality and have more authority. It's as if Google took terrible sites and said here is a site for you, now deal with it and I hope it works out at the top. I do see several sites that belong on the first page, but I see others that are very questionable. This is how the following is written below. Before the url is the anchor text density % for the site. This indicates the percentage of the amount of times the anchor text was backlined versus other anchor texts they used. Issues with the sites. Most of these sites don't utilize onpage SEO and it's clearly not a factor for onpage density purposes, there is a site with 37% keyword density on it. Some sites even have broken links. Please note: I already know that there is a lot of data that is analyzed to determine rankings more than this, but PA/DA is suppose to be a major factor according to everyone that believes in SEOMOZ.org. So I am taking in account for many of those factors being calculated due to this. These are just some random keywords I picked, because I know you need to analyze other SEO firms after and update to figure out what lasted and what didn't. All of my sites lasted due to ethical tactics, but I had some rankings move down and others go up, very odd. The onpage SEO is sloppy and the writing looks forced. Why is this even ranking? The site also looks low quality. The density is higher than SEOMOZ even and it has less words. In this case DA + words carried this site up, not the anchor ratio being low. 6.17% http://www.cheapseo-services.com cheap seo Page Authority DA 28 -- PA 38 276 Words No onpage, 35 duplicate pages, free template, etc.. etc.. 10% www.seomoz.org/blog/how-to-do-seo-cheap DA 94 --- PA 56 only 5 anchor texts used on this page. 8651 Words I am willing to bet if you diversified this with about 5 more anchor texts this could be number 1 easy. Build a site, do SEO work on it and sell it?
Does anybody do this? With success? I keep finding industries right here in my local area (concrete work, home security, painting) that have 4-5 local companies that are competing and NONE of them are doing even the most BASIC items to seo their site or capitalize on ANYTHING online. I could pick 7-8 of these industries and have somebody who works for me spend a couple hours a week on each building links and writing a half way interesting blog post, etc. and once they rank higher than most of the competition sell em for 2-3 grand I bet, especially since I can prove how much traffic they are getting. Thoughts? Thanks for weighing in. Matthew

Is anyone else looking into ARIA Roles vs HTML5 Markup and Schema.org
Hi im investigating the pros/cons of the Aria Roles, HTML5 Semantic Markup and Schema.org. For those not in the loop: HTML5 Semantic Markup = Semantic Structure Layout. (i.e. Header, Footer, aside (sidebar) Nav) Aria Roles (WAL-Aria)- Defined for Screen Readers Schema.org - Microdata I went gung-ho with some dev costs accounted for to push the new marekup schema. My devs being really good pushed back and in doing further research I have found that there is indeed some underlying complexities surrounding how we structure and markup these pages. A lot of the HTML5 Semantic Stucture code seems to lack adequate purpose, like it was recommended in 2004 (oh wait it was). Schema.org makes sense in the larger realm given in SEO land we love the search engines, although Schema.org vs. Facebook Open Graph. The ARIA attributes look great and work for screen readers (so I am supportive of pursuing) but do they offer and SEO benefit. I would love to get the communities thoughts in general and or thoughts on ignoring HTML5 Semantic markup and just putting in Schema.org tags. Is anyone else going through the same issues? Regards, Phil

Scammer or Legit?
Okay so I keep on seeing stuff like this, I know it's been going on for ages but it seems to be increasing in intensity. Anyway, thanks to Facebook knowing I click on their ads to do with SEO it shows me pretty much just those ad types now. I'll get to the point. I saw an ad for the "Search Marketing Business Academy", or "SMBA" so I was curious and clicked. There's a chap who professes 12 years experience in internet marketing and has a bunch of companies and blah, blah, blah. Anyway, he's offering himself up as basically an expert of experts, one that can show other search marketers how to make it. www.searchmarketingbusinessacademy.com/ There's a few things that look fishy though. The testimonials have common names and no business names There's no mention of what these companies he runs are There's no work to see in the form of case studies or a portfolio Under "Meet Lee Gilbert" it states that they've been supporting other SEM companies since 2004, yet a quick Google of the company and the name shows little to support this. Googling the chaps name just gets you his own website www.leegilbert.co.uk which professes more of the same and just a bunch of products Of just a few pieces of advice given for how to rank on Google it includes keyword density The chap seems to still place a lot of importance on Page Rank (As in the old PR that we all know means nothing now, and his blog about this is only a month old) From searching, it doesn't seem that there is any history at all, let alone this history of mass success There doesn't appear to be any social presence for the company or the man, except that ad. It seems just like an average SEO (albeit one that's a bit behind on the times) who knows an average amount, trying to say he can tell other SEO's how to master the arts. He's not even a member on SEOmoz, that's the biggest give away haha. So, could I be wrong? Am I being too harsh?
