What is a good average cost to acquire a link?
-
If you use a link building tactic for long enough, you can estimate the average cost for each link that is acquired through that tactic.
For instance if you typically get 10 links from an infographic that costs $1,000 to create and promote, your average cost per link is about $100.
What range do you target for your average cost per link? What average cost would you take all day long if you could scale it?

Do you know what is the effect on a site that uses another site's infographic in a story or post,
The answer depends upon the quality of the story or the post.
what is the effect on the site producing and storing the graphic?
If the site that uses the infographic is a stronger site then it will probably outrank the source of the infographic if they are optimized for the same keyword.
If the site that uses the infographic has 1000x as many visitors it will probably attract 1000x as many likes, links, tweets, etc... and thus outrank the site that produced the infographic.
No wonder little sites complain about the big brands beating them all of the time... they give away all of their content and wonder WTF happened.

I think that you will find that some infographics are better at attracting links than others and predicting which will succeed is really tough... that means you could spend a lot of money and get zero results. (Its really easy to spend a lot on content and get puny results.)
And, you will find that very few things can be done all day long every day before you hit market saturation.
Another consideration is... Google does not like infographic syndication as much as they used to... so the value of a link is a bit squishy and getting worse.

Effects of a bad link linking to a image
i am getting a lot of links from wallpapers sites.. One person has created 1000's of similar sites that are linking back to my images. My guess is images do not pass link value positive or negative. But I am not sure what the potential effects would be. Does anyone know who linking to images might effect SEO especially when there coming from horribly low quality auto generated sites.

I am looking for a software to keep track of the back links or link building
Hi Guys, I am very new hear. I just joined. I have a few websites that I need to manage. I am looking for a software that will allow me to manually add the links that I have been able to acquire. It would also be a bonus if it could search for the links to my site and to see if its still active. Because I have a freelancer working a few hours a week on link building and I need to keep track of the links. I am looking for something simple and good. Any suggestions? By the way, I used Raven Tools many years ago, and it had this feature. But since joining Moz, I don't want to be paying for 2 subscriptions. And I don't know if Raven still has this feature. Your suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you. Ryan

Is building a Link Network from scratch a good idea?
My SEO agency are suggesting that they will build a Link network from scratch by buying domains and building blog sites on them. All sites that link to my site would in theory be 'clean' and as we build up their authority we increase the value of the links to my site. One of the upsides is taht we would have complete control of all the links. This does sound a bit spammy but in theory could it work?

Link Relevance vs Link Authority ?
Hi guys, I have a quick question regarding some low quality links my site is getting. From the information in Open Site Explorer, the website Im talking about has a page authority of 16 while the domain authority is 11\. These are very low quality scores in my oppinion and Im thinking of removing them with Google Disavow Tool. The thing is that, although the domain is low quality, the links have relevance as they're in the same business sector as us. More exactly, the name of the domain is taxisavona and the company I work for is also a taxi company. So, now I`m thinking, should I disavow the link because of it's low scores or should I leave it because it is relevant to our business ? Thank you in advance! Best regards, Tiberiu Iavorenciuc

Reciprocol Links
Am I correct in stating that linking to every article about your company is a bad idea. I see a lot of sites with followed links to the articles that link to them. Is this not devaluing the link? I've been recommending removing the links or no indexing the page and no following the links. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

How many good links does it take to improve the rank
Just wondering how many good links (PR 3-5) it generally takes to improve the site in a competitive space. That is assuming the links will be procured (earned) from the sites in the same domain.

Is Buying Links a good idea???
Hello Everyone, I want to know, what is the search engine's preference when it comes to links that have been bought. I observed that quite a few the good local directory listings (with good mozrank and moz trust etc) offer one to be listed for a yearly or lifetime price. Does Google frown upon these type of links too? regards, Talha

Do image links with no alt tags pass link value?
"... an image link with no alt tag is useless to search engines..." according to a Nov 2007 seomoz blog post. Is this still the case in 2011? I ask because I'm about to obtain a banner link on a high-traffic site (chiefly for the clickthrough value) but I notice the site uses neither "title" nor "alt" tags.
