Canonicalization Issue?
-
Good day! I am not sure if my company has a Canonicalization issue?
When typing in www.cushingco.com the site redirects to http://www.cushingco.com/index.shtml
A visitor can also type in http://cushingco.com/index.shtml into a web browser and land on our homepage (and the url will be http://www.cushingco.com/index.shtml)
A majority of websites that link to our company point to:
http://www.cushingco.com/index.shtml
We are in the process of cleaning up citations and pulling together a content marketing strategy/editorial calendar.
I want to be sure folks interested in linking to us have the right url.
Please ask me any questions to help narrow down what we might be doing incorrectly.
Thanks in advance!!
Jon

Hi Jon,
It looks like you have most of the canonicalization bases covered. However, you still need to add a 301 HTTP redirect for cushingco.com that points to www.cushingco.com.
Right now, the site is serving duplicate content for most www/non-www requests. A request for cushingco.com will redirect correctly to www.cushingco.com/index.shtml; however, a request for cushingco.com/index.shtml will not (and the same result occurs for the other pages on the site).
You'll want something like this:
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^cushingco.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.cushingco.com/$1 [R=301]

Sudden issue: no google cache for any product detail pages and offer schema missing from SERPS
Absolutely no idea what is going on. All of our category / subcategory and other support pages are indexed and cached as normal, but suddenly none of our product pages are cached, and all of the product / offer schema snippets have been dropped from the serps as well (price, review count, average rating etc). When I inspect a product detail page url in GSC, I am either getting errors or it is returned as a soft 404. There have been no recent changes to our website that are obvious culprits. When I request indexing, it works fine for non-product pages, but generates the "Something went wrong

If the issue persists, try again in a few hours" message for any product page submitted. We are not SEO novices. This is an Angular 7 site with a Universal version launched back in October (new site, same domain), and until this strange issue cropped up we'd enjoyed steady improvement of rankings and GSC technical issues. Has anyone seen anything like this? We are seeing rapid deterioration in rankings overnight for all product detail pages due to this issue. A term / page combination that ranked for over a decade in the top 10 lost 10 places overnight... There's just no obvious culprit. Using chrome dev tools to view as googlebot, everything is kosher. No weird redirects, no errors, returns 200 and page loads. Thank You0 -
Internal Links issue in webmaster
we implemented our website on the basis of WordPress, then we migrate our website to PHP (YII Framework). after a while, we found out an issue around internal links which they were increasing severely. when we check our landing pages in webmaster (for example Price list), in contains 300 internal links but the reality is that there are no href tags on this page. it seems that webmaster calculate most of our links with the links of a single page and show them to us. is it natural or a mis configuration has been happened? 301 and 200 Status Issues
Hi, Moz has highlighted that we have duplicate page content on our site, displaying the following: http://bmiresearch.com/press 200 status code and http://www.bmiresearch.com/press 200 status code We have setup a 301 redirect rule on http://bmiresearch.com/press to permanently redirect to http://www.bmiresearch.com/press and on Google inspect element network it shows this http://bmiresearch.com/press 301 status code which mean redirect to this URL permanently http://www.bmiresearch.com/press 200 status code Does anyone know why this might be occuring? Is it possible that because Google has index both URL http://www.bmiresearch.com/press and http://bmiresearch.com/press with 200 status code? If so how would we correct this? Thanks

Domain Mapping - International Config - WP Multisite - Problems/issues experienced ?
Hi My new clients devs are setting up new client according to below domain mapping type config Is anyone aware of any probs this could cause ? or other way should be setting up ? Also will setting up an MA campaign for the root domain 'catch all' given the domain mapping aspect etc ? Cheers Dan Set up now using WP Multisite. The root domain for the network of websites we are going to roll out, is set up as "network.domain.com. This is a "parent" domain from which all languages variants will be children of this root domain name. so: "network.domain.com/uk/" - English Language
Technical SEO | | Dan-Lawrence
"network.domain.com/tr/" - Turkish Langauge
"network.domain.com/za/" - South African
etc I then will domain map domain names to each of these children, once I get DNS control of each language's settings. I have already mapped "www.domain.com" to "network.domain.com/uk/", so the english website is set up (and launched - as you know). I fully expect that "www.domain.tr" will be mapped to "network.domain.com/tr/" and so on, but depending on domain availability at the time of purchase. Any domain name can be mapped to each of these children, and the system doesn't care, or mind! I can also map one (or more) domain names to each child, and make ONE of them the primary domain name.0 -

SEO Issues with Avactis Shopping Cart Please Help(Resolved)
I am seeking advise or help with several issues I am having with Avactis. First is Title Duplicates or adds the same on every CMS page Seal It Green Sealants - Non-Toxic Organic Sealant Products so for instance it say Contact Us-Seal It Green Sealants - Non-Toxic Organic Sealant Products or Whats the Difference Seal It or Xtreme -Seal It Green Sealants - Non-Toxic Organic Sealant Products every cms page it adds Seal It Green Sealants - Non-Toxic Organic Sealant Products to the title description. which in turn makes my Title Descriptions TOO LONG! Second is the very lengthy urls. I came into this project after the site was developed and there are more issues than I ever imagined. Duplicated Pages, Titles etc all over the place. Trying to work on one issue at a time. ( I think re-building the site using something else would of been a quicker solution) But Client didn't want to do that. Any advise or tips to get through this process with this platform would be extremely appreciated.

301 redirect issues
Hi all, I'm hoping someone will be able to help me with an extermley frustrating problem with 301 redirects in .htaccess. Basically I'm trying to redirect some old pages (from our old website) that stil rank to the new equivilent. For example - old url = www.domain.com/frames/news/company-news/news-reader.php?newsStoryID=395 New www.domain.com/news/article-title I've tried the simple redirect 301 /frames/news/company-news/news-reader.php?newsStoryID=395 http://www.domain.com/news/article-title But this doesnt work. I've also tried - RewriteEngine on
Technical SEO | | EclipseLegal
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^newsStoryID=395$
RewriteRule ^/news-reader.php$ http://www.domain.com/news/article-title/? [L,R=301] Could anyone help? I've followed lots of tutorials that all match the above but it just doesn't work! The only other thing within the htaccess file is from wordpress for pretty permalinks - BEGIN WordPress <ifmodule mod_rewrite.c="">RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]</ifmodule> END WordPress Many thanks in advance!0 -
