Adding Disavowed Domains to Open Site Explorer?
-
Hi,
Is there a way to add to the OSE a list of disavowed domains?
Also, how often is it refreshed?
I know that the GWMT shows us links on sites that are down for months now. Thanks

Thanks for the assistance with a workaround Marie! This sounds like it'd be something good to write up for our feature request forum at https://seomoz.zendesk.com/forums/293194-SEOmoz-PRO-Feature-Requests, too.

Thanks Marie and Tom,
Marie, this is what I meant. Now that people are disavowing more and more domains and links, the OSE picture is plain wrong (unfortunately I disavowed a lot).
I will work with the excel for now.
Thank you both

That's the sort of excel macro love that I was hoping for. Thanks, Marie!
Also, uploading the .txt - that's not a bad or totally unrealistic idea, is it?
-
I agree with Tom, but I do see what you are saying. I think you are saying that you would like an option where you can upload your disavow.txt file to SEOMoz and then get a list of your backlinks minus the disavowed files. It's not a bad idea for a feature!
But until then, Tom's plan to do it manually in excel would work. Another way this could work in Excel is to add your disavowed domains in column A and have your OSE domains in column B then in column C use this forumula:
=if(B1=A1,"duplicate","")
This will flag all of the domains that are in your OSE list and also in your disavow list. You can then filter them out.

There's no way (that I can think of) for the OSE to know which domains you'd disavowed, so it would have to be manually done. The way I'd do this would be to export the backlink report into a .CSV file, lift the domains that you have disavowed and then, in Excel, remove any domains from the OSE list that are on your disavow list. You should be able to do this fairly quickly with the find+replace function. Alternatively, you could colour the cells of those domains in red, which again you could do quite quickly en masse.
Next index update is pencilled in for March 12th - you can find the information here. It usually takes a month, but what you'll no doubt notice on that page is that the index updates have been coming quicker and quicker; the last 2 updates have come only 14-15 days after the last one.

Big drop in Domain Authority score
Hi I am managing a website, that in May was indexed at 67 i DA - then we installed SSL and we dropped to 26 and we're still there - I do not now, how I can change my site, so that I can regain some of the DA. It is a wordpress site and we used a free SSL certificate and I have detected no problem with the 301 redirects. Do you have any insights or tips?

Fresh Web Explorer explorer doesnt seem to work properly
How do I get Fresh Web Explorer explorer to work properly. The feedback I’m getting shows that my brand, Health 2000 had over 4000 mentions on Monday the 13th of January. However when I check out the links that supposedly mention our brand, they bring up general terms related to Health and make no reference to our brand. How can I refine this?

Does Open Site Explorer purposefully not crawl some sites?
I use both SEOmoz's Open Site Explorer and Web Master Tools to find backlinks when conducting link audits. WMT always finds more links than OSE; I understand Google's database is bigger. But what is interesting to me is that it seems that a large percentage of the links WMT finds that OSE does not are real crappy links that I don't want. That makes me wonder if SEOmoz decides not to crawl certain, low quality, sites? Just curious.

I have a client with a bit over 100 inbound links but Open Site Explorer shows total links on Subdomain as over 66,000, how can this be?
I have a client www.woodard247.com that shows only a bit over 100 inbound links. using the Open Site Explorer, they are a well trafficed local site and are not doing any grey hat or black hat techniques. However the rankings for their main keywords have suffered recently and we cannot identify any duplicate content or keyword stuffing issues. We have never purchased links or used link building software. Now for the main question: When we run Open Site Explorer it shows only a bit over 100 inbound links on the page and the domain, but the subdomain shows over 66,000 total links! How can this be possible? Could this be a problem? How can I find out what these links are since Open Site Explorer and Seo Spyglass both show only a hundred or so?

Open site Explorer CSV output mixed up
If I download a CSV output of the external links and the characteristics of them, the output is mixed up. When I put the data in Columns, some columns are disordered. Do more people experience these problems? Is there some preference I have to adapt? Thanks! SFCTf

Open Site Explorer only exporting 120 rows!
Has this happened to anyone else? I keep running reports in OSE and then exporting them, but I only get 120 rows exported to the csv when it should be several thousand. Thought I'd ask around before raising it to the Moz team!

How best to gain Followed Linking Root Domains?
Hi All, Sorry if this question has been asked before. I've had a look through the Q&A sections and I couldn't really see anyone who'd asked the question as direct as this? Basically, I'm using the SEOMoz competitive domain analysis to compare some of our domains and our competitors domains and see where we're falling down. At the minute, we seem to be only scoring around '31', whereas our two closest competitors as 32 and 33 on the overall score. This still seems pretty low to me (maybe it's not) so I'm assuming we can make some good headway. At the minute, the analysis shows that we're beating our competitors hands down with the number of links to our site, these are all relatively good quality and they haven't just been spammed out there to gain links. We are however struggling to get followed linking root domains. As I understand it, these are basically just links from domains not on the same IP that are followed? Since I've seen this, I've looked through the open site explorer and gone through all of our competitors sites to get backlinks from URL's linking to them. I've had fairly good success with this but they only seem to have gone up by 1 - 2 links. Does this only get updated once a month? In addition to this, does anyone have any tips on how to build up followed linking domains? Kind Regards
