Why would my site return an error when using Open Site Explorer to crawl it?
-
I have built several new sites over the last few months for others, but recently built a new one for myself. I have gone through most of the checklists from this site to address on-page SEO, and now I am looking at link building.
When using Open Site Explorer, I receive an error saying that no information about the URL is available, even when I add competitor sites.
Wondering if this is a common issue and if there is a convenient remedy?
thanks!

You can actually check back in a day or two. A little bird told me we have an index update coming out very soon (keep an eye on the blog, we always post there).

Thanks. My URL is only about 30 days old and I don't yet have any back links, though I will shortly. I'll just keep at it and focus on this and check again in a few weeks.

How new is your website ? Do you have any sites linking to you currently ? You might want to check under Google Webmaster Console or Majestic SEO to see if they are reporting any backlinks (if at all they exist). If not, I would just concentrate on building links and eventually OSE will find you.

The site is yet to be crawled by OSE. It is updated every month or so.
Please check the calendar for more details on next update.

How do you solve this issue? Pages coming up as [No Title] in Open Site Explorer
I see this when researching top pages. I know for a fact that the pages have title tags that appear to be fine on google and our site, so I'm not sure what the [No Titlle] means or why it's appearing in Open Site Explorer. Thanks!

Why Is SEOMOZ No Longer crawling All Of My Site
Hi all, I joined Seomoz over a month ago and Roger has been crawling all of the pages on the site approx 20 pages. Through out the last few weeks I have been working on the errors and notices identified by Roger. However, this week Roger has only re-crawled 1 page and is not picking up all the other pages. Has any one come across this problem. can you recommend any thing to resolve it? Many thanks in advance....

OPen Site Explorer listing criteria?
Checking link data for a potential client who has given me access to their websmaster tools account, I've noticed that Google list over 150,000 "Links to Your Site" but yet OSE only reports a tiny fraction of this number.
Moz Pro | | G-DC
I have manually verified that there are in fact direct links from the sites that are listed in Webmaster Tools but not in OSE. Does OSE discard some links? Is there a reporting lag? Does anyone know why there would be such a large discrepancy?0 -
Any SEO moz users notice a HUGE change in OSE (Open Site Explorer) link data numbers?
Hi All, I am having some serious concern with OSE data recently for numerous clients, one client I want to talk about today has the following data from OSE for the month of August 2011 compared with July 2011: Total links to the domain: (decrease of around 100,000+)
Moz Pro | | ColumbusAustralia
External Followed links: (decrease by around 5,000)
**Linking Root domains: (decrease of over 60) ** The crazy thing is that the domain authority has actually gone up by around 5 points for this client even though every thing has suddenly gone down? Also funny thing is we have been link building quite strong for this client over the last 12 months using only high quality sources from out niche. I am worried that their is serious issues with the data, I realise we saw some updates to OSE recently yet I am suprised it can be this drastic. Kind Regards. PSV1
