Different website is shown when searched for content
-
Hello,
Have any body experienced this situation, When i take a content from http://www.creativethemes.net e.g. from home page and search it on google, search results shows FMEextensions with that content. FME had never ever used that data, it can not be found in sources files either, also this data was never written and placed on FME site but it is shown with FME
How can this happen and what do you suggest to resolve it?
-
Have a look at the top of the cached page for all the info you need. However, it won't tell you when they added content.
-
Yes i can see that, but wondering when was it placed on that page so that Google cached it.
-
OK, do exactly this:
Search for "Find Free Themes for Magento and other platforms"
On the FME page, roll over to see the cached version of the page and then click on "Cached". You then want to click on "Text Only Version" and scroll to the bottom. You will see the following:

It has never been used on FME,
-
If you click on the cached version of the page and then click on "Text Only Version", scroll to the bottom and you will see where it has been used.
it was there, but looks like it has been changed and I suspect Google will catch up with this at some point.

Hello Andy,
I meant the text on home page, just like below, search it on Google please and you will find FME.
"Find Free Themes for Magento and other platforms which are mostly reviewed and rated by customers and can increase clients' conversion rates for you beyond your expectations. All eCommerce templates come with free support, upgrades and complete documentation. Enjoy Christmas discounted website themes right now!"

I am a little confused what you are actually searching for. You said that "When i take a content from http://www.creativethemes.net", can you give me an example of what you are taking from the homepage?
If I search for Magento Templates or Magento Themes, I don't see this "FME" site come up.
-
Hello Andy, i mentioned above,
URL http://www.creativethemes.net
Keywords are Magento Themes, Magento Templates
-
Can you give us the URLs and search terms please? Need to have a look to fully understand what is going on.
Andy

Same URL-Structure & the same number of URLs indexed on two different websites - can it lead to a Google penalty?
Hey guys. I've got a question about the url structure on two different websites with a similar topic (bith are job search websites). Although we are going to publish different content (texts) on these two websites and they will differ visually, the url structure (except for the domain name) remains exactly the same, as does the number of indexed landingpages on both pages. For example, www.yyy.com/jobs/mobile-developer & www.zzz.com/jobs/mobile-developer. In your opinion, can this lead to a Google penalty? Thanks in advance!

Website homepage must be first link from every page of sub folders which are related in content?
Hi, I have seen number of websites where they keep their website homepage as first link from every page of sub folders and even from sub domain pages some times. For example, giving website homepage as top navigational menu from every page in their blog. Will this helps in boosting the ranking of homepage if we link from sub folder or sub domain pages where they employ related content like blogs or help guides. Thanks

Showing Different Content To Members & Non-Members/Google and Cloaking Risk
How do we safely show logged-in members/Google one type of content on a page and logged out/non-members another kind of content without getting slammed for cloaking? Right now we do this thing where we show Google everything on the page, but new visitors partial forum comments with the pitch to sign up and see full comments. So far, we have not gotten into trouble for this. The new idea is to show non-members a lot of marketing messages and one kind of navigation and then once they sign up and are logged in, show different or no marketing messages and a different kind of navigation. How do we stay out of trouble with this? Where is the cloaking line drawn? It's got me kinda nervous. Thanks... Darcy

Duplicate content - how to diagnose duplicate content from another domain before publishing pages?
Hi, 🙂 My company is having new distributor contract, and we are starting to sell products on our own webshop. Bio-technology is an industry in question and over 1.000 products. Writing product description from scratch would take many hours. The plan is to re-write it. With permission from our contractors we will import their 'product description' on our webshop. But, I am concerned being penalies from Google for duplicate content. If we re-write it we should be fine i guess. But, how can we be sure? Is there any good tool for comparing only text (because i don't want to publish the pages to compare URLs)? What else should we be aware off beside checking 'product description' for duplicate content? Duplicate content is big issue for all of us, i hope this answers will be helpful for many of us. Keep it hard work and thank you very much for your answers, Cheers, Dusan

Duplicate content within sections of a page but not full page duplicate content
Hi, I am working on a website redesign and the client offers several services and within those services some elements of the services crossover with one another. For example, they offer a service called Modelling and when you click onto that page several elements that build up that service are featured, so in this case 'mentoring'. Now mentoring is common to other services therefore will feature on other service pages. The page will feature a mixture of unique content to that service and small sections of duplicate content and I'm not sure how to treat this. One thing we have come up with is take the user through to a unique page to host all the content however some features do not warrant a page being created for this. Another idea is to have the feature pop up with inline content. Any thoughts/experience on this would be much appreciated.

Best practice for duplicate website content: same root domain name but different extension
Hi there I have a new client who has two websites: http://www.bayofislandsteambuilding.co.nz
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | turnbullholdingsltd
http://www.bayofislandsteambuilding.org.nz They are the same in every regard apart from the domain extension (.co.nz & .org.nz) which is likely to be causing them issues with Google ranking given the huge amount of duplicate content. What is the best practice approach to fixing this? Normally, if I was starting from scratch, I would set one of the extensions as an alias which redirects to the main domain. Thanks in advance. Changing website providers
After increasing suffering down time from my current website provider, I am seriously considering finding a new one. My only concern is the effect on SERP. Does anyone have any experience with this and what to do and avoid?
