On-Page Report Card Questions
-
First post here, a couple questions as I work through some of the SEOMOZ tool reporting, specifically the On-page Report Card. I've just received the report results yesterday, so working through the data now.
There are two issues categorized as critical by the tool:
(1) The grader is stating I don't have any instances of the target keyword in my page title, yet it's there. (The page title is too long, but I'm in the process of hacking the blog software to fix this, it's auto-generated by the CMS.)
(2) It's also saying under "Broad Keyword Usage in Document" that I have zero instances of the keyword in the body text, and while I certainly don't have enough, there is at least one instance at the bottom of the blog post. All the text is contained with
tags.
(3) Related to #2, what's the difference between "Appropriate Keyword Usage in Document" under "High Importance Factors" and "Broad Keyword Usage in Document" under "Critical Factors"

Hi George -
I ended-up working with support to address this issue. Turns out Rogerbot doesn't crawl html that's generated by javascript, which is the situation for the website in question. Just the way our CMS works.
I tried to delete the post but couldn't see an option for that. Thanks for the response though!

webranger, I can help but would need to see the site and run the grader for myself to see the result. Feel free to PM me a summary of the sites.

ERROR: Too Many on-page links!
User wise, my product menu @LEDSupply.com is user friendly, but I'm concerned that it might be seen by crawlers as bad because of the TOO MANY ON-PAGE LINKS error I am getting in my moz crawl report. Is it really counting all the links in every drop-down menu? If so, is there are resource on how to fix it????

A 301 redirect to a page with a rel canonical to a page with a 301 question...
MOZ registers thousands of DC and Duplicate titles on a Drupal site which has a little strange setup. Example: www.1234.com/en-us 301 redirects to www.realsite.com/en-us which has a rel canonical to www.1234.com which 301 redirects to www.realsite.com. If you're still with me I thank you.

My question is since MOZ registers errors, if indeed the rel canonical isn't recognized due to a 301 redirect?0 -
How do I disallow a subdirectory in my reports?
My seomoz reports include thousands of pages from a "localmarket" subdirectory licensed to an ad packager that I am soon turning off. How do I remove this subdirectory from seomoz reports now?

Why would the SEOMoz Page analysis pick up exact keywords used in page title and text?
Hi, I am trying to optimise this URL : www.adaptiveconsultancy.com/ecommerce/features/advanced-ecommerce with the keyword being 'advanced ecommerce' With the 'On-Page Report Card' from SEOMoz that the exact keyword isn't featured in the page title or text, but it is in there. Why would this not be picked up? Thank you in advance,

Page and Domain Authority and other bits
Hi, I am in the process of finding blogs to have a few articles published with a couple of links in each. Articles will all be unique and relevant to the link I drop in and relevant in someway to the reader However I have a few questions. My site is a designer menswear site, so I have picked fashion and sports sites first and foremost to have the articles published. Now, I have a guy who owns about 30 different websites. 2 of them are sports based and about 10 are fashion based. Around $10-$15 an article. I have ran them all through the Open Site Explorer Tool and picked out the best ranked ones. Now my problem is, how do I know if its a good site to not only list an article on, but to pay for it as well. The sites page ranks are around the 30-45 range, the domains are around the 35-45 range. What is a good range to have? I know the higher the better but is 30-45 good enough to pay for? (I don't mind paying the $10 each (£7 my money) for each one) Also as he is quoted me in dollars, I assume there all USA based, so majority of users are USA based. Well I am UK based and only ship to the UK. Will this matter as much if I am trying to gain backlinks? Obviously a UK based site, would be ideal, but is it a case of getting more external links on the web for Google to find, as long as they are relevant to the user? Any help would be great. Thanks Will

On Page Optimization Reports - Huh?
I've been working hard to use this EXCELLENT tool for optimize some of what I consider my most important pages . . . But the automatic tool that pulls pages and grades them (the "summary" of the "on page" report) . . . I don't get it. It only graded three of my pages, and I don't understand how it chose what keywords to grade it for? I'm just very confused. I don't understand how it chose the pages to grade, not the words it chose to grade it against. 😞

Only Crawling 1 page?
Hi Guys, Any advice much appreciated on this! Recently set up a new campaign on my dashboard with just 5 keywords. The domain is brammer.co.uk and a quick Google site:brammer.co.uk shows a good amount of indexed pages. However - first seomoz tool crawl has only crawled 1 url!! "Last Crawl Completed: Apr. 12th, 2011 Next Crawl Starts: Apr. 17th, 2011" Any ideas what's stopping the tool crawl anymore of the site?? Cheers in advance.. J
