Dmoz - No response
-
Hi,
I sent our website URL to http://www.dmoz.org/,
I followed all the rules, i even checked some competitors that are already listed in this directory project, to make sure i define good category for our website.
i did that long time ago and still i didn't get response and i don't see my website listed.
I also don't see any option to contact them.
Any advice?

You can always apply to become an editor yourself. That way, you can add your link yourself.

SEOMoz has a list of directories you could try here: http://www.seomoz.org/directories
Good luck!

Welcome to the club!
I have been waiting for over a year to have my website (PR5) listed with DMOZ and with no success as yet. The Editors work at their own pace and will list your site if a) there is an Editor for your submitted category b) if they feel like it.
You just have to wait - word of warning though. If you re-submit your site, your original submission will be deleted and you will go to the bottom of the queue again. My advice is to forget about it and move on with your other SEO activities.

DMOZ gone!! The king is dead. Long live the king.
So it appears AOL have pulled the plug on DMOZ. The reason why? - I suspect a financial decision somewhere along the road but personally I think it still had something to offer. I realise there are mirrored versions of it online still (for how long - and for what reason - not much link juice in that) but to pull the plug on one of the oldest and most trusted directories is, well, rather final. Amongst the rubble that litters the web - the endless paid entry directories and the self proclaimed ultimate listing portals I at least felt there was someone else out there (human) validating my submissions - even if it took some time to find my newest sites online. We all know that links need to be adequately sourced but it was a resource I always began with on the quest in achieving ranking greatness. Which begs the question - was it still as popular in the last couple of years or have I been chasing my own tail?

Will it be replaced? Or have even human edited directories had their day? I'd be interested to hear what others think. RIP DMOZ0 -

Google Reconsideration Response Time
Hi all, 3 of my websites have received a massive hit from Penguin/Panda due to exact phrase links. I have had all the links changed so that they are completely different, and submitted a reconsideration request to Google. Would anyone be able to tell me roughly how long it takes to get a response from a Google reconsideration request? Thanks, Anthony

Getting into DMOZ for my coaching site
Hello, Before I submit to DMOZ, I'm wondering if my site is one that would get indexed: www.bobweikel.com Also, if you have any hints beyond what I can read at DMOZ I'd really appreciate it. I don't want to submit and then after several months get rejected.

How can I get listed in DMOZ.org
I was listed in DMOZ for over 10 years. Then suddenly my listing dropped out (I suspect a competitor is an editor and bumped us) and my rankings have dropped a bit. I have resubmitted my site repeatedly, but with no luck. Do you have any idea how I can get relisted? Lisa Rioni http://www.wholesalecentral.com
