How use Rel="canonical" for our Website
-
How is the best way to use Rel="canonical" for our website www.ofertasdeemail.com.br, for we can say goodbye for duplicated pages?
I appreciate for every help. I also hope to contribute to the SEOmoz community.
Sincerely,

Yeah, I'm with Mike - these are prone to cause you some real trouble. Given how many there probably are and how often they change/rotate, I'd strongly suggest using rel=canonical or some not indexing the alternate offers somehow.
They may be necessary for users, but these pages aren't all necessary to have in your index. By trying to rank for every single one, you risk harming your more important rankings. Honestly, as Mike said, Google can't even really tell these are different, except for the URLs, so even the long-tail ranking benefits are nearly zero, I suspect.

All offers of our website open through ajax.
How is the best use of canonical in this case?
-
Ah... Googlebot can't see those changes on the page from when you click the different offers so each page looks almost exactly the same and like thin content. In which case I'd suggest something along the lines of adding more written content to pages like http://www.ofertasdeemail.com.br/desconto/submarino/ so they look different than page like http://www.ofertasdeemail.com.br/desconto/submarino/so-o-cartao-submarino-indica-as-melhores-ofertas-para-voce-10733.html and then adding a canonical tag to show that the offers are a subset of http://www.ofertasdeemail.com.br/desconto/submarino/
They only problem with this solution is that the individual offers won't really rank for anything in the SERPs and will likely be replaced by the primary page in the index (assuming Google follows your canonical signal). So that may not be a perfectly solution for your needs but it could alleviate problems associated with duplicate & thin content.

Thanks Mike,
All pages, and the offers pages need to existe.
When I enter in the store's offers page, show a list with last offers of store (so users will can use the offers selector on left side of website, so after click, the offers will appears on the right side of website).
For example, the Submarino Store:
http://www.ofertasdeemail.com.br/desconto/submarinoPlease do a test, and help us.
Thanks

First, determine if those duplicate content pages need to exist or if your users would be better served by another page. If that page doesn't need to exist then you may want to consider a 301 redirect to the better page. If a page is an exact replica of another page then you need to ask yourself "Why do we have it?" If its only a duplicate because of thin content then you might want to consider adding more, relevant content to the individual pages to better differentiate them.
If the duplicate page needs to stay for whatever reason then you can consider adding a canonical tag pointing to the primary page. Some cases in which canonicals have worked best on the sites I work on have been relating to parameters. E.G. example.com/product and example.com/product?model=4 are basically the same page but they each serve a purpose. In this case, example/com/product?model=4 is a subset of the one without a parameter and was given a canonical tag pointing to the primary page.
Canonical tags are a signal, not a directive though... which means that the search engines may choose to listen to it or ignore it as they see fit.
I apologize if any of that seems confusing. Here's a link to the SeoMoz guide on canonicals: http://www.seomoz.org/learn-seo/canonicalization and a blog post on the subject: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/canonical-url-tag-the-most-important-advancement-in-seo-practices-since-sitemaps

Google cache from my website give another website
Hello, Some time ago, I already asked a question here because my homepage disappeared from Google for our main keyword. One of the problems that we showing up was the Google cache. If you look to the cache of the website www.conseilfleursdebach.fr, you see that it show the content of www.lesfleursdebach.be. It's both our website, but one is focus on France and the other one on Belgium. http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache%3Awww.conseilfleursdebach.fr&oq=cach&aqs=chrome.0.69i59j69i57j0j69i60j0l2.1374j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 Before, there were flags on the page to go to the other country, but in the meantime I removed all links from the .fr to the .be and opposite. This is ongoing since January. Who has an idea of what can cause this and most of all, what do do? Kind regards, Tine

Hreflang Tags & Canonicals Being Used
We have a site on which both hreflang tags and canonicals are being used. There are multiple languages, but for this I'll explain our problem using two. There are a ton of dupe page titles coming up in GSC, and we're not sure if we have an issue or not. First, the hreflang tags are implement properly. UK page pointing there, US page pointing there. Further down the page, there are canonical tags - except the UK canonical tag points to the UK page, and the US version points to the US page. I'm not sure if this will cause an issue in terms of SEO or indexing. Has anyone experienced this before or does anything have any insight into this? Thanks much! Matt

Nofollow "print" URLs?
Hi there, Apols for the basic question but is it considered good practice to nofollow one of one's own URLs? Basically our 'print page' command produces an identical URL in the same window but with .../?print=1 at the end. As far as I've been reading, the nofollow html attribute is, broadly speaking, only for links to external websites you don't want to vouch for or internal links to login/register pages that together with noindex, you're asking Google not to waste crawl budget on. (The print page is already noindexed so we're good there) Can anyone confirm the above from their own experience? Thanks so much!

Website.com/blog/post vs website.com/post
I have clients with Wordpress sites and clients with just a Wordpress blog on the back of website. The clients with entire Wordpress sites seem to be ranking better. Do you think the URL structure could have anything to do with it? Does having that extra /blog folder decrease any SEO effectiveness? Setting up a few new blogs now...

Is it ok to add rel=CANONICAL into the desktop version on top of the rel="alternate" Tag (Mobile vs Desktop version)
Hi mozzers, We launched a mobile site a couples months ago following the parallel mobile structure with a URL:m.example.com The week later my moz crawl detected thousands of dups which I resolved by implementing canonical tags on the mobile version and rel=alternate onto the desktop version. The problem here is that I still also got Dups from that got generated by the CMS. ?device=mobile ?device=desktop One of the options to resolve those is to add canonicals on the desktop versions as well on top of the rel=alternate tag we just implemented. So my question here: is it dangerous to add rel=canonical and rel=alternate tags on the desktop version of the site or not? will it disrupt the rel=canonical on mobile? Thanks

Could large number of "not selected" pages cause a penalty?
My site was penalized for specific pages in the UK On July 28 (corresponding with a Panda update). I cleaned up my website and wrote to Google and they responded that "no manual spam actions had been taken". The only other thing I can think of is that we suffered an automatic penalty. I am having problems with my sitemap and it is indexing many error pages, empty pages, etc... According to our index status we have 2,679,794 not selected pages and 36,168 total indexed. Could this have been what caused the error? (If you have any articles to back up your answers that would be greatly appreciate) Thanks!

How to remove "Results 1 - 20 of 47" from Google SERP Snippet
We are trying to optimise our SERP snippet in Google to increase CTR, but we have this horrid "Results 1 - 20 of 47" in the description. We feel this gets in the way of the message and so wish to remove it, but how?? Any ideas apart from removing the paging from the page?
