Pageing page and seo meta tag questions
-
Hi
if i am using paging in my website
there is lots of product in my website
now in paging total paging is 1000 pages
now what title tag i need to add for every paging page
or is there any good way we can tell search engine all page or same ?
-
If I'm understanding you properly that is not a good idea. Google will potentially not be able to crawl your content that way. Regardless of the pagination you still want to be able to surface your content for search. You might consider using push state and pop state to give crawl paths and maintain the quick loading user experience. Be sure to make it gracefully degrade for lesser browsers.

is i use java script code for paging like when user click on page no 2 or page no 3 then url will be not change is this good idea?

You'll want to canonical all the paginated pages to the first page or a page that lists all the products, then include rel=next/prev in the header. Here is an article that has a good breakdown of what you need to do:

Hi,
Sonds like the issue you are describing is one of Pagination. There are several ways you can remedy this with Meta tags.
If all your pages are very similar and you only want one version of these pages to rank then you can use the Rel=Cannonical meta tag to signal to search engines that these pages are the same as your root page and to attribute all SEO benifit to this page.
So if you have www.mypage.co.uk/producta/page=2, /page=3, /page=4 etc you can place the following meta tag within the Head section of the Pages HTML
<link rel="<a class="attribute-value">canonical</a>" href="www.mypage.co.uk/producta/"/>
Users however will still see the paginated version. More information on this tag can be found here and here.
An alternate would be to let Search engines know that pages are part of the same list by using the rel=next and rel=previous meta tags. These are slightly more complicated to put in place but signify that from /producta the 'rel=next' page is /producta/page=2. And on that page you would state the next page is /page=3 and 'rel=previous' is /producta/ etc. This only really works for lists though and if you have many sorting options can get messy, in which case i would use cannonical. Again more information on this meta tag can be found here.
Hope this helps you out.

Question on Pagination - /blog/ vs /blog/?page=1
Question on Pagination Because we could have /blog/ or /blog/?page=1 as page one would this be the correct way to markup the difference between these two URL? The first page of a sequence could start with either one of these URLs. Clarity around what to do on this first page would be helpful. Example… Would this be the correct way to do this as these two URLs would have the exact content? Internal links would likely link to /blog/ so signal could be muddy. URL: https://www.somedomain.com/blog/

<link rel="canonical" href="https://www.somedomain.com/blog/?page=1"> URL: https://www.somedomain.com/blog/?page=1
<link rel="canonical" href="https://www.somedomain.com/blog/?page=1"> Google is now saying to just use the canonical to the correct paginated URL with page number. You can read that here:
https://developers.google.com/search/docs/advanced/ecommerce/pagination-and-incremental-page-loading But they do not clarify what to do on /blog/?page=1 vs /blog/ as they are the exact same thing. Thanks for your help.0 -

Canonical Page Question
Hi, I have a question relation to Canonical pages That i need clearing up. I am not sure that my bigcommere website is correctly configured and just wanted clarification from someone in the know. Take this page for example https://www.fishingtackleshop.com.au/barra-lures/ Canonical link is https://www.fishingtackleshop.com.au/barra-lures/ The Rel="next" link is https://www.fishingtackleshop.com.au/barra-lures/?sort=bestselling&page=2 and this page has a canonical tag as rel='canonical' href='https://www.fishingtackleshop.com.au/barra-lures/?page=2' /> Is this correct as above and working as it should or should the canonical tag for the second (pagination page) https://www.fishingtackleshop.com.au/barra-lures/?page=2 in our source code be saying rel='canonical' href='https://www.fishingtackleshop.com.au/barra-lures/' />

Why Google ranks a page with Meta Robots: NO INDEX, NO FOLLOW?
Hi guys, I was playing with the new OSE when I found out a weird thing: if you Google "performing arts school london" you will see w w w . mountview . org. uk at the 3rd position. The point is that page has "Meta Robots: NO INDEX, NO FOLLOW", why Google indexed it? Here you can see the robots.txt allows Google to index the URL but not the content, in article they also say the meta robots tag will properly avoid Google from indexing the URL either. Apparently, in my case that page is the only one has the tag "NO INDEX, NO FOLLOW", but it's the home page. so I said to myself: OK, perhaps they have just changed that tag therefore Google needs time to re-crawl that page and de-index following the no index tag. How long do you think it will take to don't see that page indexed? Do you think it will effect the whole website, as I suppose if you have that tag on your home page (the root domain) you will lose a lot of links' juice - it's totally unnatural a backlinks profile without links to a root domain? Cheers, Pierpaolo

Meta description and Meta Keywords
Hi, We are new to SEO and have some meta Q's Should Meta descriptions and meta keywords be different on every page? Is it bad to have the same meta data repeated on the site? If it has to be different does it have to be totally different per page of just slightly different? Should the description contain keywords is there an advantage to that? Thanks Andrew

Tags causing Duplicate page content?
I was looking through the 'Duplicate Page Content' and Too Many On-Page Link' errors and they all seem to be linked to the 'Tags' on my blog pages. Is this really a problem and if so how should I be using tags properly to get the best SEO rewards?

What's the difference between a category page and a content page
Hello, Little confused on this matter. From a website architectural and content stand point, what is the difference between a category page and a content page? So lets say I was going to build a website around tea. My home page would be about tea. My category pages would be: White Tea, Black Tea, Oolong Team and British Tea correct? ( I Would write content for each of these topics on their respective category pages correct?) Then suppose I wrote articles on organic white tea, white tea recipes, how to brew white team etc...( Are these content pages?) Do I think link FROM my category page ( White Tea) to my ( Content pages ie; Organic White Tea, white tea receipes etc) or do I link from my content page to my category page? I hope this makes sense. Thanks, Bill
