How much does exact match or almost exact match affect the difficulty score?
-
If a keyword get 50% difficulty on the keyword tool what would it be if it was an exact match domain.
Would it go down to 30%
What if it was just one character off an exact match or one word?
Thank you in advance!

Lately I saw severall sites ranked 1st with half of the links of the 2nd site even in competitive keywords.
As an example , the keyword "jogos" ( games in portuguese) is one of the most searched in Brazil. The 2nd in the rank is www.jogos.com and the 3rd is www.ojogos.com.br. The later have a lot more links and authority but still, no domain match, no better spot on the rank.
PS.: The first on the rank is a subdomain from a huge and old brand in Brazil (www.uol.com.br) so it almost impossible to outrank the first.

What if it was just one character off an exact match or one word?
I have some exact match domains and have found that there is a significant difference for only one letter.
As a generic example... widget.com would not rank as well for the query "widgets" even if the competition was less.
If a keyword get 50% difficulty on the keyword too.....
From what I have seen, exact match domains give the greatest advantage in low competition SERPs. The more brute force is needed to compete in a SERP the more important links become.

Ahrefs Much Higher Than Competitors But Competitors Doing Significantly More Traffic?
Hey guys, I'm baffled by checking my Ahrefs ratings lately. It looks like our rating just went up considerably... from over 1 million to now around 500k. One of my main competitors, however, has a much lower Ahrefs rank (over 3 million) but he does a considerable more amount of traffic than we do... how is this? My domain rating is higher than his by a lot. Very curious how this works.

How much should I analyze my competitors?
Hi, Recently I've started a competitor research (aka competitive analysis). A few hours after I began, I've started to feel that maybe I'm doing too much unnecessary work. What I've been doing so far is analyzing the competitor's links (using the Dr Pete's Link Profiling excel and some other things), and their site optimization. The on-site optimization analysis has been very light, just to see if the competitors are doing something really well, or not. But still, I think that maybe I'm doing too much work. So, I'd like to see your thoughs: How much work is necessary when doing competitor analysis? What things do you analyse? And how much do you report to the clients? Thank you all in advance! Ivan

Question About Keyword Difficulty Report
If I am trying to assess the difficulty of ranking for a longtail keyword phrase that is 3 or more words long, should I put that phrase in quotes when I enter into the Keyword Analysis Tool or not? For example, let's say I want to see how hard it would be to rank for the phrase "best educational resources for teachers". Should I enter into the keywords analysis tool as "best educational resources for teachers" or just as best educational resources for teachers? Which one would give me the most accurate difficulty assessment for that phrase?

Does InAnchor count partial match links?
Here is what Google says about the InAnchor operator. I am curious to know if this will show results with exact match or partial match anchor text. Does anybody know?

Our site being outranked by competitors with lower "moz" scores - due to on-page SEO?
Howdy, Our SEO efforts are doing well, but for a few keywords it seems we cannot budge one of the competitors sitting in spot #1. Through some competitive analysis I've noticed that our website has a much higher mozRank with regards to both page and domain compared to the current #1 spot. My question is what kind of factors could be the issue as to why we are still being outranked. Is it simply a case of poor on-page SEO at this point or should I be taking the mozRanks with a grain of salt.

What % is a GO when using the Keyword difficulty tool?
Hi, A lot of keywords I have looked into say 'moderately competitive' at around 35% - 45%. But what else would you look at in the table to decide whether or not the keyword term is achievable and how do you decide this maybe its the root domain backlinks and maybe you would only touch it if it had less then 30. Basically what other elements do you look at when deciding whether to pursue? This might also include some research in Google itself (although most the data you would want is in the tool, well I think anyway! Cheers

Does anyone know of a keyword difficulty API?
Hi Mozzers, I've made a script that uses the Google Adwords API to insert big lists of keywords ideas and their monthly search volume into our database. It would be awesome to be able to also automatically get a difficulty score for those keywords from a tool like the SEOmoz Keyword Difficulty Tool. Sadly this tool doesn't seem to be in the SEOmoz API. Google does provide a competition score in the AdWords API, but that's only based on the competitiveness of the AdWords auction for that keyword. So my question is: does anyone know another keyword difficulty tool, that does have an API? Thanks! Daan
