No PageRank but good Moz stats?
-
Hi,
Why would a website with good Moz stats such as DA/PA 45, mR/mT 5.0+ have 0 PageRank?
Have these sites done something? I have seen some sites with similar Moz stats have PR3/4 and when I have checked a year later the PR has dropped to 0.
Does that indicate Google has hit those sites and removed their PageRank?
Thanks.

There's a good chance of that - a drop like that would normally mean its PageRank has been penalised.
If you can verify this with some suspicious looking backlinks via Open Site Explorer, then I would steer clear.

Cheers Tom, helpful.
What happens if the domain has been around for years and did have a PR3 which dropped to PR0.
I'm guessing they have been hit and any outbounds won't pass PR anymore.

They possibly may have been penalised, or they could just be new-ish sites where the majority of their good links have come in the recent weeks/months.
Google's toolbar PageRank only updates every 3-4 months, so it's possible that during this time the page in question could have acquired all of those links to give it a healthy Moz score.
You can check this by popping the URL into the wayback machine and see when it was last archived, checking the whois data of the site and see when it was registered and also by checking the recency of its backlinks with Ahrefs - the free version will give you a link graph of when the links have been acquired.
Anything after February 11th or something around that mark is when the PR toolbar updated, so if you can see a lot of links to that page after that date, the page and domain should be fine, it just hasn't had the chance to have its PR updated.
Hope this helps.

http://www.domain.com/content Question: would telling search console to treat one of them as the primary site also stop Moz from seeing this as duplicate content? Thanks in advance, Best, Paul. http0 -
Is there a good tool for finding co-occurance words/terms?
It would be great if there was a tool that helped find words/terms frequently used with other terms. For example, a search in this theoretical tool for "mobile app development" could bring up "iPhone app development" and "mobile app design" as examples of frequently co-occuring words. Any ideas or tools for this kinda thing?

Focusing on Multiple Niches for one site: good or bad?
Is it wise to focus on multiple niches for one site, rather than zoning in one or two different niches? On one hand, you can target many more topics and go after tons of keywords, but on the other hand doesn't google get confused of what your site is really about? Won't google just focus on one of the niches that you provide more than all others? Any input would be great!

How important is a good "follow" / "no-follow" link ratio for SEO?
Is it very important to make sure most of the links pointing at your site are "follow" links? Is it problematic to post legitimate comments on blogs that include a link back to relevant content or posts on your site?

Updating existing content - good or bad?
Hi All, There are many situations where I encounter the need (or the wish) to update existing content. Here are few reasons: Some update turned up on the subject that does not justify a new posy / article but rather just adding two lines. The article was simply poorly written yet the page has PR as it is a good subject and is online for quite some time (alternatively I can create a new and improved article and 301 the old one to the new). Improving titles and sub titles of old existing articles. I would love to hear your thoughts on each of the reasons... Thanks

MOZ crawl report says category pages blocked by meta robots but theyr'e not?
I've just run a SEOMOZ crawl report and it tells me that the category pages on my site such as http://www.top-10-dating-reviews.com/category/online-dating/ are blocked by meta robots and have the meta robots tag noindex, follow. This was the case a couple of days ago as I run wordpress and am using the SEO Category updater plugin. By default it appears it makes categories noindex, follow. Therefore I edited the plugin so that the default was index, follow as I want google to index the category pages so that I can build links to them. When I open the page in a browser and view source the tags show as index, follow which adds up. Why then is the SEOMOZ report telling me they are still noindex, follow? Presumably the crawl is in real time and should pick up the new follow tag or is it perhaps because its using data from an old crawl? As yet these pages aren't indexed by google. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks Sam.

Does anybody know of a good Spanish-speaking SEO?
This would be really helpful. I need to do some SEO in Mexico and am looking to work with a good Spanish-speaking SEO but have found the pickings slim. Any recommendations and observations would go far. Thank you.
