Is this URL Structure SPAMMY
-
Hey guys/gals
I have tried asking this very specific question 3-4 times already and some how my specific question seems to be getting side tracked and my very specif question pertaining to my URL structure keeps getting bypassed and overlooked.
I am wondering about if this URL structure would become a possible issue in the somewhat near future with GOOGLE considering what I have seen go down in the SEO world the past 2 years.
Does this URL Structure look SPAMMY?
http://www.pcmedicsoncall.com/computer-repair/laptop-repair/
www.pcmedicsoncall.com/computer-repair/laptop-repair/laptop-screen-repair/
Below is a Screen shot of the Site which I designed where I have created a SILO Site Architecture. .....PLEASE... Look at the Picture
Thank you
Marshall

I know the feeling and concerns, Marshall. Glad I found the question here!

God bless you for answering my question! LOL.. it's been a bit of an ordeal getting a basic assessment from a different set of eyes on this question. Thank you. : D
Sure, I do my keyword research and have been very detailed on my previous postings about my skill set and abilities to the sum of 300+ words but that had proven to yield an unsatisfactory result getting a straight answer on this particular question on two separate Threads that I started so I figured that I would just act like a layman and see if it would work out better instead explaining with so much detail this go around.
I Guess, I am too long in the tooth?

Thank you for the extra set of eyes on this question Alan as the search landscape has changed so much and I am doing a Company re-branding and need to get this right without the possibility of google slapping me later down the road despite the fact that I do nothing but quality white hat SEO and always have.
Just don't need the aggravation Ya know?
Sincerely,
Marshall Thompson

Marshall,
Yes, this is moving into the "too much" realm. So for example, I would suggest that the URLs and Breadcrumb navigation be refined like this:
http://www.pcmedicsoncall.com/computer-repair/
http://www.pcmedicsoncall.com/computer-repair/laptop/
http://www.pcmedicsoncall.com/computer-repair/laptop/screen/
Then in the Page titles, I might go with
Computer Repair | PC Medics On Call
Laptop Repair | Laptop Computer Repair | PC Medics On Call
Laptop Screen Repair | PC Medics On Call
Or depending on keyword research alternately:
Computer Repair Services | PC Medics On Call
(this one above covers "Computer Repair", "Computer Repair Services" and to a lesser degree "PC Repair", "PC Repair Services" and even "PC Computer Repair Services")
Laptop Repair Services | PC Medics On Call
Laptop Screen Repair Services | PC Medics On Call
(of course your actual seeding should be based on keyword research and your particular goals)...

Domain name in URL
Hi we are targeting local cities across the UK with landing pages for our website. We have built up a few links for https://www.caffeienmarketing.co.uk/bristol/ and recently advised that I should change the URL to https://www.caffeienmarketing.co.uk/marketing-agency-bristol/ and 301 directing the old one 2 questions really: 1. is there any benefit in doing this these days in that this is the main keyword target we have for this page? 2. Do I get 100% benefit for all the links built up on the old page

Going from 302 redirect to 301 redirect weeks after changing URL structure
I made a small change on an ecommerce site that had big impacts I didn't consider... About six weeks ago in an effort to clean up one of many SEO-related problems on an ecommerce site, I had a developer rewrite the URLs to replace underscores with hyphens and redirect all pages throughout the site to that page with the new URL structure. We didn't immediately update our sitemap to reflect the changes (bad!) and I just discovered all the redirects are 302s... Since these changes, most of the pages have a page authority of 1 and we have dropped several spots in organic search. If we were to setup 301 redirects for the pages that we changed the URL structure would there be any changes in organic search placement and page authority or is it too late?

New Site Structure and 301s
We're moving towards a new site with new site structure. The old site has numerous backlinks to past events that won't be published on the new site. The new site will have about 60 future events that are currently active on the old site as well. I was wondering the best way to move forward with the 301 redirect plan. I was considering redirecting the old site structure to an "archive.ourdomain.co.uk" subdomain and redirecting the 60 or so active events to their equivalents on the new site. Would this be a sensible plan? Also for the active events, is there any difference between: _redirecting the old page to the archive page and then forwarding to the equivalent on the new page _ and redirecting the old page directly to the new page

Does having a trailing slash make a url different than the same url without the trailing slash?
Does having a trailing slash make a url different than the same url without the trailing slash? www.example.com/services Or www.example.com/services**/** Does Google consider these to be the same link or does Google treat them as different links?

Quick URL structure question
Say you've got 5,000 articles. Each of these are from 2-3 generations of taxonomy. For example: example.com/motherboard/pc/asus39450 example.com/soundcard/pc/hp39 example.com/ethernet/software/freeware/stuffit294 None of the articles were SUPER popular as is, but they still bring in a bit of residual traffic combined. Few thousand or so a day. You're switching to a brand new platform. Awesome new structure, taxonomy, etc. The real deal. But, historically, you don't have the old taxonomy functions. The articles above, if created today, file under example.com/hardware/ This is the way it is from here on out. But what to do with the historical files? keep the original URL structure, in the new system. Readers might be confused if they try to reach example.com/motherboard, but at least you retain all SEO weight and these articles are all older anyways. Who cares? Grab some lunch. change the urls to /hardware/, and redirect everything the right way. Lose some rank maybe, but its a smooth operation, nice and neat. Grab some dinner. change the urls to /hardware/ DONT redirect, surprise Google with 5k articles about old computer hardware. Magical traffic splurge, go skydiving. Panic, cry into your pillow. Here are my target keywords: CMMS, CMMS Software, EAM Software, Maintenance Management Software Do you think using exact keywords terms are most effective? For example: Title tag: CMMS, CMMS Software, EAM Software, Maintenance Management Software Or: Title tag: CMMS Software, EAM Maintenance Management Software Same goes for keyword use for content and H1 tags. Your thoughts? Thanks, John
