Emails from Moz makes my Outlook unresponsive
-
Did anybody else notice this? It started a few weeks ago, every time that I receive an email from Moz regarding a Q&.A update and I try to open it, my Outlook becomes unresponsive and I have to restart it.
-
Hi guys,
Thanks for the responses so far
I am sorry for the inconvenience this is causing you folks, this is an issue we are aware of and looking at currently. The challenge for this issue is that we can't just simply turn off avatar retrieval since there is no detection for the email client that our customers use, this is an issue that snuck up on us since we simply did not forsee Microsoft Outlook's data retrieval techniques for their recent versions
With that said, our engineers are working hard to come up with a fix for this issue by looking possibly changing how we retrieval that data from the cloud. In order to release a fix and not break dependancies else where, we need some additional time to come up with a fix and deploy it in a test environment.
In the meantime, you can view our Q&A email by either using the web client for your perspective outlook accounts or you can actually process a change for your non-outlook email if that's possible. Thanks for the patience our customers have displayed so far, if you like us to give you an update when a fix has been made, you can either email us at help@moz.com or I could simply update this thread once a fix has been deployed!
Best,
Peter

The avatars are getting caught in the cloud.

Same here.

Yes, I noticed this too. The workaround doesn't seem to help in my case as I already had images turned off. Not sure what to make of that?

You're not alone. Check the thread here: http://moz.com/community/q/moz-email-is-freezing-microsoft-outlook. It looks like they're working on the problem. peterli of the help team wrote:
Hi guys!
Thanks for all the heads up we have so far regarding this. It looks like the Q&A emails has an image on their outlook tries to pull from our servers, that process can cause outlook to appear frozen/crash if your version of the outlook is queueing the the server (AWS) for the image. Currently you could work around that by turning off images in your settings in outlook. You can check out this thread on MS' support hub about blocking pictures on outlook: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/turn-off-blocking-automatic-picture-downloads-HP007310739.aspx
Hope that helps, I have created a ticket for you on our end, so I look forward to talking to you!
Best,
Peter

Significant difference with DA scores on Moz Chrome app VS Website Tool
I saw a big difference between DA scores on Moz Chrome app VS Website Tool. Which DA score is the correct one? I personally believe the scores on Moz's site is most accurate. Community Discussion - What's Been Your Experience With Moz Content?
When the content developed Moz Content, I was excited as can be about having another tool in the content marketing and content strategy repertoire. I knew it could and would help marketers better identify the content they should be creating and make it easier for them to move the needle for their brands. Since it's been available, I've had fun using Moz Content, seeing it as a great vehicle for flattening the learning curve for content ideation and creation. In a recent post, Here's How I'm Using Moz Content for Mining Local Link Opportunities, David Farkas described how brands can use Moz Content to better create localized content. I'd like to know how you're using it, or if you're using it: Have you tried Moz Content? And if not, what's stopping you? If you have used it, what are you really liking? What would you change? What, if any, additional features you'd like to see added? What tips can you share for helping others get the most out of the tool? Looking forward to reading the comments below.

GA snippets for subdomains and best tracking in MOZ
Hey there, I have a blog running at blog.URL.com. I need to add Google Analytics and I want to track the value of this subdomain as separate from the main URL. Can I do that? If I do a unique snippet in the header of the blog is that the right way to go? The main site is on an antiquated CMS system and will be converted over the next few months to a full on WP site, does that change anything long-term? Thanks in advance for your help. Cheers, Lisa

Moz crawler finding my homepage multiple times
Hi and thank you in advance for your help! I have a Moz Pro campaign running (I am a complete Moz novice by the way) for one of my websites (balloonsutah.com). After crawling my site, the Moz crawler informed me that I have 3 pages with duplicate content. While I am not sure why exactly this is happening, the crawler indexed my homepage 3 times under different url's. -balloonsutah.com

-balloonsutah.com/
-balloonsutah.com/index.html I checked my FTP server and I cannot figure out for the life of me why the crawler is finding anything other than the index.html file. I suppose I need to do something regarding a rel="Canonical" but I am not terribly familiar with that either. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Moz Report-Canonical
Moz crawl reported in issues: Rel Canonical: using rel=canonical suggests to search engines which url should be seen as canonical. But we have sorted out this a long time ago. Is there a way where can I verify if the moz crawl is wrong or if we really do not specify the canonical?

Why moz does not update actual keyword possition
I managed to get first place on google by keyword: vervo.lv kravu pārvadājumi in google.lv (it is in first place all this week) But in moz reports it shows just second position? I added so far about 100 keywords to monitor so if it shows incorrect this one how can i trust to other keyword results. Report says it updated on 3. september and it already was in first place. I really need to monitor keywords but if it does not show actual positions it is useless.
