Facebook and SEO

Hello, recently we've noticed my companies Facebook page (www.facebook.com/dishcostsless) is not being crawled by Google. When you type in DISH Costs Less Facebook it does not show up, even when you type in the exact URL there are no search results. We used screaming frog to check out the back end of the page and there are no meta tags like there are on most FB pages. Also we noticed there were two re-directs; one from the http page to the https page, and the other directed the https page to the http page creating one giant cycle. We think this has something to do with the problem but not sure. Is there anyone who has had a similar issue, and how did you fix it? We'd love to be assured that the search engines are tracking our interactions on Facebook for SEO purposes.

I can confirm that the page does pull up in the Facebook directory but when doing a URL search in Google, the page still does not pull up! There are no Country nor Age Restrictions on the page.
It appears that DishCostsLess is not the 'name' on neither the Facebook nor your Google +. Perhaps changing the name to "DISH TV by DishCostsLess" would help.

I haven't come across your particular situation before but I looked at your FB page and noticed the name of it is "DISH TV". I know that Facebook's open graph search is very particular to Page Names and not FB URLs. If you search for DISH TV your page does show up in FB search however. If you change your FB page name to Dish Costs Less I would assume you would get the results you are looking for. You have over 1k followers so you'll have to verify your business with them first.
On a side note. I've personally seen strong correlation between ranking a FB page in Google with having the keyword as the page name. Not saying that is correct but the pages that I manage that I do that with, have been successful. This search https://www.google.com/search?q=ac+repair+miramar+fl&pws=0 and this search https://www.google.com/search?q=ac+repair+parkland&pws=0 are both on the first page of Google. The first page has an exact fb.com/url and the second one doesn't match the title name. They both rank though. FYI

Facebook adds a trailing slash to urls?
Hey Guys, we are facing a problem in our www.batuta.com with Facebook shares. Seems like because we choose to set our preferred canonical version urls to end with a trailing slash ( / ), like this one e.g.: www.batuta.com/الوجهات/إسبانيا/ Facebook adds automatically another ( / ) when trying to read the url on first share before its ever indexed in FB. Which makes Facebook think its a bad request! cause then the URL has two // at the end of it. hope this was clear. anyway, so first question: did anybody face this issue before? any solutions? Second, and might be more important: I might be forced to face the option of changing the canonical tags to be a url without a ( / ) if I will have to do this I will enforce a redirect on every url request with an ending trailing slash ( / ) to be redirected to the new canonical version without. will this be enough? how big am I supposed to suffer here? am I facing a long time with double indexed urls? wonder if anybody faced this problem before! Facebook have moved my page likes to another page
Hi Hope someone can help or offer advice about an issue that has arisen today i had a facebook page with approx 20,000 likes and a competitor had a page with approx 500 likes. Today the competitor has over 20,000 like (my likes have been transferred to them without informing me) I have spent quite a lot of time and money in facebook advertising building up the page and this came as a total shock today. The page (was) www.facebook.com/wildatlanticway It is very difficult to contact facebook. has this happened to anyone else Regards Brian

Does adding a twitter or facebook feed to a website help rankings in regards of providing fresh content?
I have been asked if this is a sufficient way to provide fresh content to a website, however I am unsure if Google considers this as "fresh content", and I can't seem to come across a clear answer. Any thoughts?

Blog posts copied to Facebook or Linked? Any Duplicate Content Issues?
I wasnt able to find any good answers on this. I have two separate ecommerce websites, one with a top level blog. (www.xyz.com/blog) and different website with a subdomain blog (blog.xyz.com)***note on the subdomain blog, although it links to our website. You cannot directly shop from it. Until i can make some sort of scraper, its what I have to work with. For quite some time now I have been copying the blog posts and re-creating them on facebook as a Note. Using the same anchor text/links on facebook as my blog post. Part of the issue is that I want the facebook pages to have some content and not just links. Both get 2-3 updates per week, 1 of those being a blog re-post. Does anyone know if google or bing considers this duplicate content? Should I simply link directly to the blog everytime, as a best practice? Any insight on this would be great. Thanks!

Is Tumblr difficult to Optimize? Is Tumblr bad for SEO?
To All, I love Tumblr as a social media marketing tool and blogging platform, especially for niches/brands with strong visual content possibilities. But I've never had much luck in getting good rankings or even getting some pages/posts to index. I've come across many blog posts like this one: http://danzambonini.com/tumblr-seo-and-why-i-moved-to-wordpress/ But is Tumblr really bad for SEO? I mean some folks who know a lot more than me(like Wil Reynolds and Jon Cooper) run Tumblr blogs, so it can't be that bad, right? Are Facebook posts indexed?
Can using keywords and target phrases in posts on my Facebook fanpage help my SEO strategy, or does Google not crawl those pages so it doesn't matter in terms of SEO? If it can help, can you please provide an example? Thanks!

SEO w/o Social Webinair experiment - how can RTs of a URL of a google search possibly affect the position of one of the search results?
I missed the webinair but have just been going through the slides. Looking forward to watching the video when its up. I have a question however regarding the experiment conducted by Rand to find out: Is Social Influencing Primary Algorithms (slides 7 - 20) The suggestion is that an RT of a google search URL affects the ranking of one individual ranking site. The +1 side of the experiment I understand completely - it is clear how Google can see that there is a social preference for the site and reward accordingly. But how would retweeting the search result URL possibly affect its rankings? Is the suggestion that those doing the experiment also clicked on the relevant link? And if so, how is Google discerning that this additional traffic is down to Twitter? I feel I am missing something incredibly obvious. Anyone want to help me out here?... otherwise I'm not going to sleep tonight...

Ashton Kutcher talks about SEO?
Search for SEO in Twitter and top result says: "aplusk: I'm starting to become convinced that people put my name in articles just to improve their SEO or hoping I'll tweet it." When you click on the result it brings nothing! Another weird thing, when I search for the sentence and view cached Google result it immediately redirects (which is unusual and annoying). I managed to find a text only version of cache here. Can somebody please explain what's going on here?
