Why Are Moz Pro Ranking SOOOO Inaccurate?
-
I have a set of keywords for which I have been consistently ranking in the top 10 for months. Moz Pro, a service that I pay for, has shown for the past couple of months that I don't even rank in the top 50. Google Webmaster Tools confirms that I have been ranking in the top 10 for these keywords. Am I doing something wrong or is Moz Pro more of an estimation tool?
Thanks

Try turning personalized search off, using an URL like this: https://www.google.com/search?q=keywords+to+find&gl=us&pws=0
At least for me, what I see there matches what Moz shows, although those are the results shown to a person in god knows what location with personalized search off, they match Mozs'.
Hope that helps.

Another thing you can do to test your ranking is to use the Google Ad Preview tool on non logged in, compare the results with what comes up: [https://adwords.google.com/d/AdPreview/?__u=1000000000&__c=1000000000
N](https://adwords.google.com/d/AdPreview/?__u=1000000000&__c=1000000000)o ranking tool is 100% at the moment, even AWR with proxy setup.

Damn that Google

Were you signed into any google services? I am not aware of it, but google might be caching profiles to ip addresses. Then that could taint the results that Moz brings back. It is really a tough area, google tries to stop people like Moz and Moz tries to get around google.

I used a fresh, cache cleared browser on a separate machine. Also, Google Webmaster Tools confirms that I have been ranking in the top 10 for these keywords.

My best guess would be because of the landscape of search engines. Search results used to be if anyone searched for "dogs" everyone saw the same results. For the past few years google has been actively tailoring search results to what you want to see. These things are based on what you have searched for in the past, sites that you frequent, geographic location, and many other factors.
My best guess is that Moz uses proxies to do their search monitoring. So they generally return general results. When you are testing, are you just opening up your browser and googling what terms you want to rank for? If so, you are more than likely getting results tailored to you. Use a proxy like tor, not logged into a google account and search. Try changing nodes to and you will see the results differ as well.

Rank tracking in Excel via MOZ API?
Hi there, i hope someone knows the solution to this problem. I created/ copied the "advanced Excel Keyword Analysis Report" that Dan Peskin was kind enough to share, you can find it here: http://moz.com/blog/how-to-build-an-advanced-keyword-analysis-report-in-excel. Now i m looking for a solution to rank my Keywords by using an API, preferably the MOZ API. My keywords are alligned in a column "Keword List", which will be regularly updated. Next to this column i would like to have a column with the corresponding rank. Is there a automatic solution, or do i have to do it manually?

Ranking report orderng when exporting to pdf
When I am in my rankings report I like to view the results in order of ranking, so that the keywords with higher position in google for example appear at the top, which is great. However when I export it to PDF it seems to default back to appearing in alabetical order... is there a way around this? Thanks!

Why are the rankings of my keywords different to rankings from other programmes such as 'Access my Lan' and 'Firefly'? Does SEOMoz count 'Google Places and Maps' in their rank count? Im thinking this could explain the difference

If there a basic overview of the SEOMoz Pro tools?
I'm surprised there is no simple overview of all the features anywhere, or a guide on how to use the tools? There's a nice intro video, and a good beginners guide, then BAM! - straight into the Pro Tools (it's a bit daunting for someone learning!) Or at least that I can find... and help or pointers would be great 🙂
