Following moz guideliness complety, will it certainly improve keyword rankings, domain authority

Hi!
G’day to you. I am Naresh from Dotline Infotech. I’d like to take up couple of concerns to be clarified for my better understanding on Moz tool.
Indeed, Moz is a nice SEO tool that helps in improving Search engine optimization comprehensive process. We are moz pro member since a year. Moz has equally bifurcated every SEO activity and rate it according to its own benchmark. I intend to ask a series of concerns;
Q1. Moz has page grading system A to F. According to Moz guidelines, if the keywords on the page gets repeated minimum 4 times, Moz consider it as ‘A’ grading (one of Moz metric to evaluating the page). Whereas, Google indicates repetition of same keywords time and again is treated as keyword stuffing. According to me, if keywords are already within the content one or two time and furnishing relevant information, why keywords re-occurrence to be 4 time. Does the repetition of same keywords 4 times will lead to give more valuable information? Just a request to let me share why we should unnecessarily repeat keywords?
Q2. As per Google guidelines, only 3 keywords can be placed in title tag and also advisable to use only one h1 tag instead of multiple. Among 3 keywords in title tag, only one main keyword can be used in H1 tag. Moz gives much weight age to that particular keyword placed in H1 tag but rest two keywords does not get any importance. I just like to know if we use three H1 tags within page, will it increase the page grading or not.
Q3. Does Moz tool have its own index data or refer to Google’s ones?
Q4. Following the Moz guidelines completely, will it be 100% sure all our keyword rankings, page authority, domain authority certainly be improved.
Looking forward to hear you soon.
Thanks

A1. Repeating keywords on a page has diminishing returns; however, if you aren't using the keyword you can't expect to rank for it. In some cases one exact match keyword may be enough if you are using synonyms throughout the content. The number of times you should use a keyword also depends on how long the copy of hte page is - the longer the page the more keywords you can incorporate without it sounding unnatural.
I always try and use a keyword in the first sentence of a page, and the last sentence of a page. If you can naturally fit it into the content a few more times it will not hurt you. I'm assuming SEOmoz grading is based on correlation studies. They must have seen 4 keyword mentions correlates with higher rankings. Check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHYA5gAsRBA
A2. Stick to one H1 tag. I like to think of it in a couple ways:
The H1 tag may not even be a ranking signal, but rather that H1 tags are traditionally used at the top of a page. Is the H1 tag the ranking signal or simply mentioning the keyword at the top of a page the ranking signal? Having more than 1 H1 tag is unnecessary and may just send a red flag to Google that your are over optimising.
If the H1 tag IS a viable ranking signal, then the more you use it on a page the less effective it may be. If I have a paragraph and I bold every other word and ask someone to pick out the most important word it is going to be very difficult. If I have a paragraph and only bold one word and ask someone to pick out the most important word it is very easy.
A3. Not really sure what you are referring to, but SEOmoz does have its own software to crawl your site and gather the information presented in your Moz campaign. Additionally, the information in OpenSiteExplorer is their own.
A4. Rankings and traffic are never, and should never be, guaranteed in SEO. However, if you are paying attention to these elements and optimizing properly I'm sure you will see some results.

Answer to Q1 - Write for the readers/users and not search engines. Keywords are important but use it when required. Avoid keyword stuffing. Write the content, read it as a user and then ask yourself - Does it offers what the page promises to? You can use keywords in the alt tags of the images and internal links. But excessive usage is strict NO.
Answer to Q2 - Using multiple
tags for SEO purposes is actually a misuse. h1, h2, h3 etc. tags should be used to define the content structure i.e. headings of the page. h1 - main heading, h2 - sub headings etc. Again, keyword stuffing them is a violation.
Answer to Q3 - I guess MOZ has its own index.
Answer to Q4 - MOZ's guidelines are for our education. Obviously, the guidelines and tutorials are good and helpful but it is your effort that counts. MOZ can tell you what to do but how you do it is your responsibility.

Domain authority drop
Hi SEOmoz gurus, The last 2 months I am seeing a drop in the Domain authority for some of my clients. Some of them are old sites. Some are new (less than 6 months old) For the old sites I thought the reason for the drop might be caused by discounting the value of low quality backlinks. But this cannot be the case for the new sites - they have high quality backlinks from newspapers and I can't make any sense of the drop. Has anyone else experienced the same issue? Might this be caused by a change in SEOmoz algorithm? Thanks!

What could cause your Domain Authority score to drop?
We have 3 websites that are on 3 different campaigns. Our flagship website is www.cannontrading.com. The Domain Authority score on it was 42. When I first (Mid November 2012) started, we had 295 keywords allocated for Cannontrading.com and 5 other keywords for allocated to our other websites... e-futures.com and e-mini.com. What I wanted to do was optimize the other two pages and I did this by taking taking 50 the keywords that were not ranked in the top 50 from Cannontrading.com and assigned them to the our other two sites. Could this have caused the drastic drop in the score? Our keyword rankings for the "Top 3" has dropped from 93 to 34 since November 2012. We did have a company that did article submissions for us up till October 2012. Could this have caused our drop in the Domain Authority Score and our Keyword Rankings? I didn't make any other changes to Cannon website beside taking away those keywords and given them to our other sites. Any suggestions or thoughts would really help me. Regards, David

What is the easiest way to track historical ranking across keywords?
I could not find a way to look at past data dynamically via the SEOmoz interface which would be an amazing feature. For example, people able to change the time period like in Google Analytics to see past results. Has someone developed an excel template to keep track of this data historically if this cannot be done within SEOmoz itself?

Sudden decrease in Moz Page rank
Hello, We have a serious issue with 404s and recently saw our Moz Page rank fall from 53 to 47. 1. OSE Inbound links no longer shows any of our Linked In posts, did Linked In stop passing juice? 2. Does SEO Moz reduce your ranking when there's a sudden increase in 404s? 2a. WP Yoast SEO - I accidentally checked the box on this plugin to "Strip the category base (usually /category/) from the category URL" which basically caused all of our blog post categories and Datafeedr categories to disappear. Didn't realize till too much time had passed that I accidentally clicked that box. Datafeedr is a plugin for our estore that parses the data feeds from affiliate vendors and allows you to create a saved search that auto updates old products every 3 days. I had a no index/follow parameter on the category items, but seeing the # of 404s continue to increase, I temporarily removed this parm last week to see if it reduces this now static number of 404s. Google Webmaster tools started showing a ton of soft 404s that kept increasing, while SEO Moz didn't show any of those 404s. I didn't pay much attention to GWT since Google kept saying it won't affect our rankings, and nothing was showing up on SEO Moz. Last week a fraction of those 404s showed up and I am not sure if that's what lowered our Moz rank or what looks like a possible delinking from Linked In and a higher ranking complimentary website directly related to our field itsallaboutyoga. Looking at the Moz graph of "Total Linking Root Domains Over Time" all of our competitors took a similar % hit since between June and the end of July, so I am thinking its more wide based than fat fingered mistake. I fixed # 2, (have to still figure out what to do with most of those 404s, thinking of submitting a request to Google vs 1,000s of 301s) so in doing my review of this sequence of events and using it as a learning experience, where would I assign max destructive value as a percentage? A. Ignoring GWT soft 404s in favor of SEO Moz campaign reports B. No follow from Linked In and related industry site C. Datafeedr, thousands of indexed products through Datafeedr that are no longer available mostly due to WP Yoast SEO fat finger error. I did have the D. WP Yoast SEO, "Strip the category base (usually /category/) from the category URL" E. Global Google algo change Cheers, Michael

Sudden drop in rankings
I've been working on a site since it launched in April and the rankings for all targeted keywords have been creeping up in that time. For example the site was position 5 for "satchel" and 6 for "satchels". I've just had the latest rankings report from SeoMoz and it is showing "not in top 50" for both keywords and big drops on most other keywords. What is the likely explanation for such a big drop? The website is Z atchels.com

I want to be able to track keyword rank by week, I've been playing around but can't seem to get it nailed on, I'm looking to put keyword in column 1, domain in col 2 and keyword rank on google uk in col 3. Anybody done/seen anything like this in a G spreadsheet? Cheers Jamie

Certain Domains no longer recognised by open site explorer
Afternoon everyone (well, it is for me), We've been tracking the linking root domains to our domain for around 6 months now, alongside tracking these domains we have also been engaging in linking building activities. Our initial activities worked quite well with linking domains rising from around 620 to 720 in 3 months. However, recently we have seen those numbers begin to fall away, in many cases it is because certain domains have stopped linking to us, have become no=follow sites or have been archived. But, in some cases we can see the link is still there, and is being registered by other tools such as yahoo or webmaster tools. My question is really, does anyone have a way of working out why a link, that was in the past being registered by open site explorer, is no longer registering and presumably no longer passing over juice to help with domain authority. What kind of signals should i be looking for to tackle a 'decaying' link? Looking forward to hear your thoughts!
