Understanding Source/Medium & Conversion Paths

I had always thought that the Traffic Source/Medium in all sections of GA shows last interaction, and the only way to see indirect conversions was through Multi-Channel Functions/Conversion Paths.
However, the screenshots - shows transactions and conversion paths that resulted from an email campaign we've done recently.
As you can see on the conversion path screenshot, there were 5 conversions (1 conversion type selected - ecommerce/transactions) 3 direct conversion or last interaction and 2 assisted conversions.
However - according to the transactions screenshot - there are 5 transactions, all show up as email.
I would have thought, that the transaction page would have only shown 3 email conversions - for the 3 direct/last interactions conversions seen in the conversion path.
Any idea why this would happen? Was my initial understanding of traffic sources wrong?

Cross-domain / subdomain tracking in GA?
Hi there, My client has a site website.com and a booking engine, booking.website.com They are currently tracking the main site and the booking subdomain as two separate properties in the same GA account. The issue is we can't see where users are originating on the subdomain property; it's all being counted as referral. My understanding is we need to set up subdomain tracking using Google Tag Manager in order for GA to pass the user data between the two subdomains. This is fine, except for this one line I am reading on Google's guide to cross-domain tracking: Subdomains If you have updated your tracking code to analytics.js, then no additional configuration is required to track subdomains. You can use cross domain tracking to collect data from a primary domain, like www.example.com, and a subdomain, like www.subdomain.example.com, in a single Analytics account property. That last line makes it sound like we should be using cross-domain tracking for this purpose. Are we correct in setting up subdomain tracking and NOT cross-domain tracking to be able to track users across subdomains on the same domain?

Google Analytics Question - Impressions & Queries Up, Sessions Down
I'm working with a client who, according to the Google Query report, impressions and sessions are up since we've started work with them about 6 months ago, but Google sessions are down. In moz, we're seeing a gradual, but steady increase in search visibility specifically with Google. Note: this is all organic. From when we started tracking queries, the first month we were tracking there were 43,581 impressions and 690 click throughs for the month. This past month there were 98,293 queries and 1015 clicks throughs for the month (granted not year over year data) - of these 1,015 clicks, 995 of them were from web. However, for those same time periods, sessions from Google are down over 30% - 1,750 vs. 1,189. I'm not sure how to interpret this. I realize that clicks and sessions are not a straightforward comparison, but I would think that if clicks were up according to the query report that sessions would also be up. Is it that some of these clicks are bouncing and therefore not being tracked as a session? Is there a potential issue with how data is being tracked?

Universal Analytics & Google Tag Manager - Track URLs that include hashes
Does anyone have any experience tracking URLs that include hashes (#) using Universal Analytics and Google Tag Manager? Can it be done using GTM's container for UA, using the "more settings" options? Or building another tag to work with the GTM UA container? The fallback I'm considering is implementing the UA code in GTM for every page as Custom HTML with the "ga('send', 'pageview', location.pathname + location.search + location.hash);" solution, rather than GTM's specialized UA tag. I'm not yet sure what problems may arise from that, if any. Thanks in advance.

Why am i getting a flux of increase in Impressions on my site & then it decreases
They guys. Hope everyone is having a great week. I wanted to get some inputs from you guys in regards to what is happening to my site that i quite don't understand. Every month or so i get this influx of high visibility with impressions for my keywords and then the impressions go away but my rankings still keep going up. Has anyone experienced this before and can give me some insight on what is going . Why do i get such a big jump and then it dies off only to return again a month later or 2 months later. I know you guys want probably some info from my site or from analytics or webmaster tools so i will provide as much as i can . For now i have included a screen shot. What services/reports to try during my free trial period?
Hi all - I am just starting the 2nd month of a two month free trial. So far I have run advanced reports snooping at the dofollow backlinks of other bloggers in my niche to get an idea of where they're getting their backlinks from. I have also been looking at top pages of lots of blogs in my niche to get an idea of what the most popular content is. What else should I be trying out during my free trial period? Note, I'm not selling anything directly on the site. I'm looking to increase visitors, comments etc.

Unexplained Crawl Diagnostic Errors & Opencart
Hi, I've been looking at the crawl diagnostics for my site and trying to fix the errors that are showing up but Seomoz is producing some strange results. It's saying pages are duplicated upto 16 times but those pages dont exist. It's adding "page=3", "page=4" to the end of the product URL but I don't see how it's finding those pages, nothing on the site(as far as I can tell) is linking to them. There is no "page=3", just the one product page. Again on the duplicate content it's saying under the "other URLs" there's URLs like "http:///product-a" but again I don't see where it's finding these URLs and obviously those URL's dont work. Those three slashes aren't a typo either. So far I've reduced the amount of errors from 2,005 to 543 but the rest of them I can't make sense of. Also, what does one do when you have two products, eg: "product-a-white" and "product-a-black" to prevent Seomoz from seeing duplicates? Canonical links wont work because there's no parent item, just those two. Google Webmaster tools doesn't seem to have a problem though. Using Opencart 1.5, if it helps. Cheers,

Does using Google URL Builder override original source in Google Analytics?
During a free trial on Tatango, we send daily emails to customers to give them advice, resources, etc. We started using Google URL Builder http://www.google.com/support/analytics/bin/answer.py?answer=55578 to create individual links in each of these emails, but when the customer purchases a subscription now, the source in GA isn't Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc. they are all showing up as the source we created using the URL builder for each email. Does Google URL builder override the original source in Google Analytic?

Switching Blog to domain/blog... worth it?
So we have a great business. Let's say: Service.com. And years ago we launched a great blog. Let's call it ServiceDiscussion.com. So, both are PR5 sites. The BUSINESS gets about 50k page views a month. But the BLOG is getting about 100k page views a month. So, my question is... is it time to fold the blog into the business domain? Let's say we did a 301 redirect and turned it into Service.com/blog. We'd be folding all this extra traffic into the business domain. Would the google juice be worth doing this?
