Why My Keyword Rank Had a Huge Drop?
-
Hi guys.. i really need your help.. I have a problem, why after i optimization my keyword with one article each day, after 1 week later my keyword rankings had a huge drop from page 1 down to page 5? (the data from moz.com rankings)
How the best way to increase my keyword rank in Google? Is there any other way than to use article?
Really appreciated for your help..

Hi Jarno,
Thanks for your response. I build links through article on my own personal blog and I also build links through another website through free article submission.I make one article a day, with the keywords that are repeated about two-three times per article. So far I have not received any warning from Google.
I am not sharing content on a different site and feel that I am not over optimizing as the article is only written once a day. Unfortunately since this is a work I am doing for a client I cannot share much information. Would it be possible for you to show me, what I can look for from the domain name and recent articles I write?
I really appreciate you helping out. ThanksRegards,
Debbie

Debbie,
there is no clear explanation due to the dropping of rankings based on your question. Is all you do build articles on your own site with links to different pages or do you optimize pages according to the predetermined method and build links to the article and page on different hight authority communities (like moz?) and social media? Do you share content with different website? Did you over-optimize the pages? Did you receive links from "suspicious" websites or perhaps did you buy some links to the article?
There can be a ton of reasons for the droppings of your rankings. Can you provide us with an example page of your website? For instance the domainname and a recent article you wrote so we can take a look at that?
Regards
Jarno

Exact Keyword is Used in Page Title & Exact Keyword Used in Document Text at Least Once
Hi Folks, I have a page https://purplegriffon.com/courses/itil-training/itil-foundation-training/itil-foundation that grades with the 'On-Page Grader' as a B grade for the keyword 'itil foundation' but reports that there is no 'Exact Keyword is Used in Page Title' and 'Exact Keyword Used in Document Text at Least Once'. The thing is, it actually is but because of IP (intellectual property) rights we have to include a '®' (®) symbol when we mention the course title 'ITIL® Foundation'. Now I believe Google is smart enough to recognise that this symbol should not be included but it seems that for the specific criteria mentioned above, the MOZ bot isn't smart enough to recognise this, even though it recognises the keyword usage elsewhere. So my question is this. Would this constitute an issue in terms of ranking? Another question I have, is how significant are the gains with shorter URL's? For example, the URL to the page in question is: https://purplegriffon.com/courses/itil-training/itil-foundation-training/itil-foundation Would a URL such as below have a significant effect on SEO?: https://purplegriffon.com/courses/itil-foundation Thanks for your feedback.

Is Rank Tracker accurate?
Rank Tracker tells me my page is #3 on Google (US) for a keyword phrase When I check Google.com myself, I see my page is #6 Am I missing something here?

Why are my keyword rankings dramatically changing week to week?
I have a site (actual several) that has been up for many years now. Content is changed monthly - regularly. It would always rank in the top 5 positions for 5 or 6 keywords. Now all of a sudden (without any dramatic changes to the website) my ranking results from my weekly Moz reports are dramatically different from week to week - every week. One Keyword will be #1, then the next week it will drop 49 positions, the 3rd week it might be #5, then Not in the Top 50, then #1 again, and so and so on. This happens to all my keywords on my site. I was waiting for Google to finish it's changes to it's algorithms but it's now been long enough and I can't get a handle on what's happening, why it's happening, and what to do about it, and what direction to take with my SEO. My Traffic has actually improved over last year by approx. 25%, but I have also started a PPC campaign for this client. Any suggestions would be great.

Accurate Google Keyword Ranking for a domain
Hi Folks, SEO N00b here, in a new job so please go easy on me if i ask stupid questions. I'm looking for some clarification on Google Keyword rankings. I am looking for accurate Google Keywords rankings as when I log into Google Webmaster Tools I am given values like (6-10) for a ranking? When I used SEOMoz (Research Tools -> Keyword & Ranking -> Rank Tracker) it gives me an even less accurate range by simply saying >#50?Why is SEOMoz giving a completely useless metric? Why is its actual rank not shown? I know rankings are becoming less useful as a metric with Google moving toward personalized search but I still have reports to deliver to clients so the conversation of what metrics are going in the report is to be had another day. Right now I just want to get accurate rankings, from what I've found online Google Webmaster tools is recommended as the de-facto ranking tool but it doesn't provide accurate results so how can that be (yes I know it averages out the ranking but 6-10 is a range of values not a single value that represents an average) Dave

What's up with Yahoo and Bing in my keyword rankings?
SEOmoz is good I've learned a lot from it. I'm on my 3rd month and now have 8 keywords in top 50 for one site and 1 keyword in top 50 for another. This is for Google US. For Bing and Yahoo! US however I am still not in the top 50 for anything. I have read elsewhere that meta-tag page words can be regarded by these engines as a spam signal. In my meta I have used competative keywords that are relevant to my content, some of which are in the body, but are not my actual targeted keywords as a red-herring to potential competitors. Also might be usefull for other smaller places that still use meta-tags. Could not appearing in BingHoo! have something to do with their alogrithms and the meta-tags? or is it an SEOmoz issue? I have another question also. The " / " after a domain name doesn't appear in my Firefox address bar (I think I did a 301 redirect), but when I copy and paste it into an entry box (e.g. for a link submission) it puts the " / " there at the end which I take off. Does this make any difference?

The keyword ranking report takes into account all my website urls? Can I specify the URLs where I want to track the keywords?
I don't know if my weekly reports are reporting the ranking of my keywords correctly. I have added some new keywords, since that all my reports are in red numbers. I don't know if this is happening because I did something wrong, or if is because my rankings are really falling down.

Keyword Difficulty Tool
Is there a way to use KDT and include my own URL in the process so that I can see (and show my client) how things look competitively across all these nice dimensions? All is well if my client's site is in the top 10 - but if it isn't, how can I get the same set of metrics on a specific URL as it pertains to a specific keyword? Do I somehow to remember it used to do this? Or am I imagining things? I can't seem to get it to work this way. Thanks,

"Rank Tracker Tool" is not agreeing with "Keyword Difficulty Tool"
I usually don't sweat a lot for ranks and such but last couple of days, our rankings have been moving drastically. 'Rank Tracker' shows 1st position for many keywords and the "keyword difficulty tool" shows 2nd and 3rd positions. Is is just me or this is a common thing?
