Create content for long tail keywords.
-
I have identified some potential long tail keywords. But I am not a good writer. My strengths are in programming so I am coding the web site. In the mean time, what is the best way to create related content in terms of blog entries. I intend to have landing page in my blog and rank it as high as possible.
How did you
- outsource the good content creation.
- How much did you pay?
Thanks..

If you go too cheap, you're going to get content that could do you more harm than good. I've had people in Q&A ask why a site wasn't ranking, and I went to look, and there was content like "think before you beverage" instead of "think before you drink".

wow $49 is kind of steep for me. any other services out there that you guys recommend and have used successfully?

Hi -
First of all that's a great strategy. I hope adwords - keyword planner is coming in handy.
if you plan to outsource the content (which is indeed a good idea), you have portals such as scripted that can get you a blog post at $49. Obviously here the quality and genuineness of the content is guaranteed.
However if you wish to not spend much, you can resort to tools like Fiverr. Here you might compromise a bit on quality.
Hope it helps

DMOZ gone!! The king is dead. Long live the king.
So it appears AOL have pulled the plug on DMOZ. The reason why? - I suspect a financial decision somewhere along the road but personally I think it still had something to offer. I realise there are mirrored versions of it online still (for how long - and for what reason - not much link juice in that) but to pull the plug on one of the oldest and most trusted directories is, well, rather final. Amongst the rubble that litters the web - the endless paid entry directories and the self proclaimed ultimate listing portals I at least felt there was someone else out there (human) validating my submissions - even if it took some time to find my newest sites online. We all know that links need to be adequately sourced but it was a resource I always began with on the quest in achieving ranking greatness. Which begs the question - was it still as popular in the last couple of years or have I been chasing my own tail?

Will it be replaced? Or have even human edited directories had their day? I'd be interested to hear what others think. RIP DMOZ0 -
Press Releases - duplicate content
Does anybody know if Google makes allowances for duplicate content from press releases? If you submit a press release to a press release distribution service, does it have to be different? Any help would be much appreciated.

Is there a ranking delay for highly competive Keywords?
Is there still a delay in ranking highly competitive keywords with commercial intent. If so how does it work exactly and how do you determine which keywords are highly competitive. Thanks

Link & Content Building
this is a tough one for me. Some of you know that the average SEO contract is fairly limited in budget.Clients in very competitive industries are fearing spending a lot on SEO. I do not think I should list the reasons for this.what do you do with limited budgets for SEO.The onsite-technical optimization is fairly easy and take much prsonal labor but it is manageable. The off-site optimization, links, content , and just getting you client out there is time and funds consuming over the scope of regular projects I know.My question is what do you do with onsite optimization really. I am sure some advice will include write great content, get it out there, guest blogging however those are not readily available and are not fitting the scope of any project.what do you think?

Content Calendar Help
Hey guys, I am about to start creating a content calendar that I will be using to pitch blogs and news websites with the goal of gaining a link and driving traffic to my site. Do you guys have some bookmarked links that can help me follow a step by step process on how to develop a content calendar? I'm looking at something like what tools to use, how to figure out what's hot in a particular niche, social media topics, etc. Thanks in advance!

How to pick the right keywords for backlink building in a Huge site
Hi there, I'm running a coupons/discounts web site, with more than 1 millon page indexed. The website niche is crearly related to Coupons, Discounts, Deals, but those discounts may apply to hundreds of different categories. Currently we are getting 15K organic visits a day. Every time we have to write blog articles to increase backlinking, the same question came up. Should we target our niche keyowrds (which are very competitive) or should we pick long tail keyword (3-4 words) to be more specific ? The 70-80% of the organic traffic we receive every day came from long tail keywords, for which we never did any offert to rank with. This 70-80% traffic lands into internal pages. So basically the question is: should I keep backlinking the home page to get more juice on my domain, which will organically flows to the long tail landing pages ? Or should I write hundreds of articles targetting directly the long tail ? I think that targetting the long tail will cost me a lot of effort, i.e. for a particular long tail google search (with 4 or more keywords) I get 10 visitis a day, ranking in postion 3. If I made a lot of effort to rank in the first position for that long tail keyword, I may only get 50 visits a day, so for duplicating my daily visit amount I should do that work for thousandths of keywords, which seems, to not have much sense. So, should we target the domain and lets the rank flows from there, or should we point to thousandths of internal long tail landing pages ? I hope I made my self clear enough. Thanks in advance
