Is there any way I can find out a list of the top keywords for my site automatically without having to type in certain words myself and wait on the results?
-
Eoin,
If you have you Google analytics synced to your Moz Analytics, you can go to Search | Keyword Rankings and then click on the Opportunities tab ( in the old moz pro its: Overview | manage keywords | find new keywords ) and get a list of keywords that people found you site for in the past 30 days. It doesn't give you your rankings for any of those terms unless you add them to your keyword list but it does give you some other good info about the term. Remember though, this keyword data is getting less and less as Google basically not providing it in their google analytics any longer.

Hi Eoin
Searchmetrics can help you do this. The free version will reveal some keywords for you, and the €69/month option reveals all of the data.
If it's in your budget, it's a great tool. Gives SEO and PPC data for your site and any other site as well, so you can use it to analyse competitors as well.
Hope this helps.

Hello there,
You said: "find out a list of the top keywords for my site automatically"
You can have a look into Google Webmaster Tools and see which keyword has brought people to your site or have a look on Analytics reports if that is what you want to find out!
Hope it helps

How to leverage keyword research on-page.
I'm a newbie and I'm a little embarrassed to ask this question, but here it is. Let's say I've done my keyword research and have 200 keywords. How do I use that for on-page/site optimization? Or do I not use it for on-page/site optimization? I guess I'm unclear about the relationship of keyword research and on-page/site optimization. Thanks.

Please critique inexperienced keyword research strategy
Hello, Here's how I'm gathering keywords for my new website. I'm using a hrefs to gather (through looking at 50 competitors) many top content topics in the industry. I will make a list of hot keywords. Then I'm going to look at keyword planner and Google and add to the list. What else can I do? Tips/Articles/Videos welcome.

How can I "target keywords"?
Hello everyone, Could you please explain how can I "target keywords"? So from my understanding, I do a research on keywords, then find those which I can rank for easily, and then what? Do I build links to my website pages with these keywords? Or do I create different articles on the website with this keyword?

How do I use two keywords?
Hello! I am ranking very well with a keyword. But that same keyword without an S at the end (making it singural) gets quite a few more searches per month according to Google's Keyword Tool. However, dropping the S just doesn't sound quite right or make as much sense. So how can I target both keywords? Thanks in advance!

How do I make sure my homepage ranks better than my 2nd page when I need the same keywords for both? I don't want them competing against each other for keywords.
I seen here on SeoMoz something about more than one page having the same keywords so they don't compete against each other for the same keywords that makes sense to me. But I would like my main page (homepage) to be ranked better over time rather than the 2nd page or do I just not care about the second page ranking at all and don't SEO the page very well? ,Both pages have similar content so I need the keywords for both. So im very confused on what to do with the second page. Thanks in advance to any helpful answers, i am a newbie when it comes to SEO.

How do you order similar keywords when writing content?
Let's say I sell widgets: plastic widgets, paper widgets, brass widgets and steel widgets. These are in order by how popular they are but none is so popular to really stand on it's own. When writing general content about widgets, lets say for the main Widgets page, would you write: 1. "We sell plastic, paper, brass and steel widgets." -or- 2. "We sell plastic widgets, paper widgets, brass widgets and steel widgets." I understand I can have specific pages for Plastic Widgets, Paper Widgets, etc., but like I said this would be for a main category page, maybe even for a quick "this is what we do" opening paragraph on the homepage. Is it better to be concise like in example 1? Or to individually call out each type like in example 2? I'm looking for SEO insight and the customer experience viewpoint as well.
