Thousands of Web Pages Disappered from Google Index
-
The site is - http://shop.riversideexports.com
We checked webmaster tools, nothing strange. Then we manually resubmitted using webmaster tools about a month ago. Now only seeing about 15 pages indexed. The rest of the sites on our network are heavily indexed and ranking really well. BUT the sites that are using a sub domain are not.
Could this be a sub domain issue? If so, how? If not, what is causing this?
Please advise.
UPDATE:
What we can also share is that the site was cleared twice in it's lifetime - all pages deleted and re-generated. The first two times we had full indexing - now this site hovers at 15 results in the index. We have many other sites in the network that have very similar attributes (such as redundant or empty meta) and none have behaved this way. The broader question is how to do we get the indexing back ?

I'd second Federico Einhorn... He's correct about the description tags.
I did check the robot.txt file (looks okay)
And the meta info also looks okay, too:
<meta name="<a class="attribute-value">google-site-verification</a>" content="<a class="attribute-value">ruda0O6aWmbMZZc-UyJEYH4lx6e8T41glM3QIo_Ae7Y</a>" /><meta name="<a class="attribute-value">robots</a>" content="<a class="attribute-value">index,follow</a>" /><meta name="<a class="attribute-value">GOOGLEBOT</a>" content="<a class="attribute-value">index,follow</a>" />
But I agree that it might not be included in Google Webmaster tools correctly, due to this message:

Hey Jason,
Did you notice that ALL the pages in your site are lacking descriptions?
Your description tag is empty. You can also see the result of that in Google doing a site search. Almost all results have the same description.
Another thing I would consider is fixing the text. Why is it all in caps? It's not only annoying to see in the site, but also in Google's search results. Just put the caps where they should be.
Other things I checked were fine.
Did you verify that subdomain in WMT?

Google Indexed Old Backups Help!
I have the bad habit of renaming a html page sitting on my server, before uploading a new version. I usually do this after a major change. So after the upload, on my server would be "product.html" as well as "product050714".html. I just stumbled on the fact G has been indexing these backups. Can I just delete them and produce a 404?

PR Dilution and Number of Pages Indexed
Hi Mozzers, My client is really pushing for me to get thousands, if not millions of pages indexed through the use of long-tail keywords. I know that I can probably get quite a few of them into Google, but will this dilute the PR on my site? These pages would be worthwhile in that if anyone actually visits them, there is a solid chance they will convert to a lead do to the nature of the long-tail keywords. My suggestion is to run all the keywords for these thousands of pages through adwords to check the number of queries and only create pages for the ones which actually receive searches. What do you guys think? I know that the content needs to have value and can't be scraped/low-quality and pulling these pages out of my butt won't end well, but I need solid evidence to make a case either for or against it to my clients.

Our website scores A but on google we are still on 7th page
Hi all, I have run on page keyword optimizations with exact terminology used to find our company service or our competition on google. We have ranked A, with almost all points complete. I did the same for our main competitor and they ranked F. Then i did page positioning on Google and they get on page 1 fifth line and we get page 7. We have plenty of unique content and extensive website.

Getting 260,000 pages re-indexed?
Hey there guys, I was recently hired to do SEO for a big forum to move the site to a new domain and to get them back up to their ranks after this move. This all went quite well, except for the fact that we lost about 1/3rd of our traffic. Although I expected some traffic to drop, this is quite a lot and I'm wondering what it is. The big keywords are still pulling the same traffic but I feel that a lot of the small threads on the forums have been de-indexed. Now, with a site with 260,000 threads, do I just take my loss and focus on new keywords? Or is there something I can do to get all these threads re-indexed? Thanks!
