How to check Page Authority in bulk?
-
Hey guys,
I'm on the free trial for SEOmoz PRO and I'm in love. One question, though. I've been looking all over the internet for a way to check Page Authority in bulk. Is there a way to do this? Would I need the SEOmoz API? And what is the charge?
All I really need is a way to check Page Authority in bulk--no extra bells and whistles.
Thanks,
Brandon

OK, great, thank you.
Is there a forum on SEOmoz where I can ask for professional help? Or do I just submit another question?
Thanks.

No worries, we're all noobs at some point. I'm currently working on something similar as a side project (doesn't have the bulk aspect though, just setting up a personal system to keep tabs on certain link targets via url-metrics and recording/comparing aggregate results over time). I'd say your best bet for finding someone would be here - whether that's allowed, I don't know either - or maybe even just source a hungry computer science undergrad at your local college? For someone well-versed in PHP or similar, this probably wouldn't take more than a few hours of time spent coding.
You'd need to provide them with the SEOMoz API documentation, and also follow the basic steps here to generate the credentials for your account:
http://www.seomoz.org/apiAnd also, I'd start by digging around in the API Wiki linked at the bottom of that page. Lots of good writeups for making basic API calls and such, sample code, etc. You can even make a basic call with just a web browser if you'd like to see what kind of data you get from the API.

Heh, I'm a total and utter PHP noob. I don't know if this is allowed to say here (apologies if it's not), but I'd be happy to pay someone to do it for me here. If I can't do that, can you recommend a good place for me to hire someone to write the code? And what do I need to provide them for them to be able to write it?
Thank you so much!

If you have some basic coding skills (or even just a decent grasp), I would definitely go with the free API. You can pass the url-metrics API all your URLs in bulk via PHP and return page authority for each. I'd go into more details, but SEOMoz has some pretty good documentation already:
http://apiwiki.seomoz.org/w/page/13991153/URL-Metrics-APIThey have a cap at 1mil URLs per month, so hopefully your definition of "bulk" doesn't exceed that.

Hi Daniel,
I have a long list of different URLs (different domains), and I want to check the Page Authority for all of them.
-
You can do a linkscape backlink analysis on a site and get 10k backlinks and export to excel - can also use OSE(open site explorer).
I think you're going to need to be more clear as to what you want to check on mass - serp's for a specific keyword perhaps or do you mean backlinks for a specific site/domain?

High Page Authority / Low Domain Authority
I have been building links to the home page of my web site. At this point, the site has a DA of 22 and the home page has a PA of 35. I am a bit puzzled as to how the PA can be so much higher than DA. I suppose it might have something to do with the fact that most of the inbound links are going to the home page. Are there any other factors that might be contributing to this situation? Does it point to a weakness in our backlink profile?

Page Authority and Google updates favouring websites with black hat practices ?
Can someone explain how is it that most of the competitors I have online and that rank in first page of the search results almost entirely get links ( in the thousands) and still have higher or equal domain/page authority than mine? I went 1 by 1 checking all their links and they mostly come from sex pages, and non related sites. I say stop creating angry pandas and penguins and start taking out of the game people that just play dirty. Thanks.

A 301 redirect to a page with a rel canonical to a page with a 301 question...
MOZ registers thousands of DC and Duplicate titles on a Drupal site which has a little strange setup. Example: www.1234.com/en-us 301 redirects to www.realsite.com/en-us which has a rel canonical to www.1234.com which 301 redirects to www.realsite.com. If you're still with me I thank you.

My question is since MOZ registers errors, if indeed the rel canonical isn't recognized due to a 301 redirect?0 -
Moztool and on page ranking matching
How does the Moztool compare and filter the search phrases you enter in your campaign? Or more correctly, will it filter out stop words or is it an exact match? For example I enter a phrase to track that say: "book ski trip austria" Identified in Google I see that most users search for just that "book ski trip austria" But in content, I cant write that as that is uncorrect english and I want to maby write something like: "When you book a ski trip to austria you get..." How will this affect my on page SEO report, will it still match and mark a "V" in done or show a an error? Even more interesting is, what happen if you do phrases in different order like "An austrian skip trip will make you feel..."

Issue getting total links, page & domain authority
Hi guys, I am trying to get total links, page & domain authority using the API. I am requesting the following columns: Cols=6871947673632768328204816384343597383681653687091214 { "fjid": 207343179, "ued": 43324279, "pib": 255645, "ptrr": 0.0056131743357352125, "fmrp": 8.246626591590841, "unid": 954915, "fjf": 4003651, "fjr": 0.00040067116628622016, "ftrp": 8.308303969566644, "ftrr": 0.0012189619975325583, "fejp": 9.265328830369816, "pnid": 45883246, "fjd": 2480265, "ujfq": 1277385, "pjip": 1230240, "fjp": 9.586342983782004, "fuid": 294877628, "uu": "www.google.com/", "pejr": 0.0004768398971363439, "ufq": "www.google.com/", "pejp": 9.647424778525615, "ujp": 300689, "utrp": 7.916901429865898, "ptrp": 9.487254666203722, "utrr": 0.001639219985667878, "fmrr": 0.000731592927123369, "pda": 100, "pjd": 5600882, "ulc": 1342758719, "fnid": 12165784, "fejr": 0.00016052965883996156, "ujb": 107264 } I cannot see the UPA column returned in the JSON object. How Does On Page Analysis work
Hi guys, I just need to run something past you. when I look at my on page analysis I have 5 key terms I am focusing on. For instance one of them is "computer backup". According to the report the current grade is 'F' when looking at site page "/" which I assume is the home page.
Moz Pro | | cubetech
When I do a lookup on other pages of the site it gets a ranking of A. Which is good. But since the hompage ranking went from A to F my rankings have definitely been affect. So i guess my questions are: does "/" mean the hompage, or all pages overall. What should I really be looking at here. I am assuming that you select certain pages to target certain key words. Should i be focusing like this, or more to the "/". Thanks Guys hoping to clear this one up.0
