Link Building Recommendations Please
-
Hi -
I am responsible for a small but growing number of websites for companies that serve the elderly population. I need help with link building for these websites and I'm looking for suggestions on finding one or two professionals to whom I can outsource that work.
1. Can you recommend anyone for this need, someone I can contact who you know to be qualified and professional?
2. Can you give me an idea of what such services should cost?
Thanks!

Hey tcolling!
Whatever you decide, I would guard against looking for a "good deal" in terms of price. REAL, quality link building efforts that have the potential to drive real results for you is not going to be cheap. If you have the budget, I would consult with Eric Ward before you do anything. He is THE expert in the field and can provide a great consultation for you that details the type of outreach and specific targets that will benefit your efforts the most.
Eric had a quote somewhere that went something like this...
Links can do 1 of 4 things:
a) help search rankings
b) help drive quality web traffic
c)neither
d)both
I'd make sure whomever you use is focused on link acquisition efforts designed to do both. THOSE are the links that Google generally values the most anyways.
There are many people who would be happy (myself included) to provide link building services, but anyone who does it the RIGHT way will need a fairly large time investment to do so (especially since you are dealing with multiple sites). I would say $1000/month/site would be a realistic starting point for someone qualified to produce for you.
Link building is no longer a manipulative task centered around manual link placement. It IS a process of outreach, networking, relationship building and research that (when done properly) can drive business to your sites, increase brand awareness and drive search rankings!

Can I include "commissioned" posts in my link building strategy?
Ok "Commissioned Posts" meaning industry influencers/bloggers etc writing about your brand, products or services and possibly "linking" to your website (in exchange for money, or not) a) I'm contacted by a blogger who wants to write a piece about our product and naturally links back. b) A blogger says, yes, we can write a fantastic article about your brand and link to you for $$$..$ - is this ok if not at scale? What is deemed as ethical? I want to make sure our link building campaign is done within Google's guidelines. Here is currently what we are doing, or intending to do; 1. We're producing unique content on our site and sharing this with key influencers organically on Twitter, Facebook and G+ communities. This so far is working well for a new start up. 2. Writing guest posts on authoritative sites (with only our author bio at the bottom, branded link to our site, social links) sharing knowledge or interesting content which readers will want to read. Sites like HuffPost, The Guardian would be great although we're starting on authoritative well maintained blogger sites within the industry to begin. 3. Reaching out to industry influencers who may like to review our products. Many of them have got back to me stating that they "can" run commissioned posts (normally requires a large fee) which carries a followed link, branded or unbranded. Although we may have initially contacted them, and money could be exchanged, in the eyes of Google wouldn't this appear as a natural post? Please let me know your thoughts on this? It would be great to gain more of an understanding exactly what I can or cannot do when it comes to developing high quality links for our business! Your feedback (sharing any examples if possible) would be truly appreciated. Thanks Gary

Should I become a regular contributor to help my SEO link building?
I've been offered the opportunity to contribute to a blog as often as I want and have a link included at the bottom of each post. Will this be much help to me in my link building SEO campaign? As I understand it more links from different root domains are what really count? So 20 links each from a different site is more valuable that 20 links from one site? Should I take up this opportunity or are my efforts best spent elsewhere?

A few questions about link building?
1. Is it worth gaining more then 1 link on a website when link building, for example if I did a guest post on a blog, is it worth doing another guest post on the same blog linking to the same website? So 2 guest posts on 2 blogs, or 4 guest posts on 4 blogs? 2. When building links through guest blogging, you have two options, a link in the byline and a link in the content. Will a link in the content have more benefit then in the byline as its surrounded by relevant content? 3. Does having a link higher up the page have more benefit then one lower down?

Newbe question - What is the most effective link building strategy? (white hat)
Hello, I was just wondering what is the best way in terms of time-spent/results to create links to your site. I just saw a couple of videos on article syndication and article spinning and was wondering if this really works. Cheers Luca

Market Samurai's Latest Link Building Tool
Hey, Would be interested to see everyone's opinion on the latest software form Market Samurai http://www.noblesamurai.com/as/video/3 It's basically an article spinning & syndication promising to be the 'biggest in the world'. Most things they mention in the video is quite contradictory to everything SEOmoz teaches about link building. What's everyone's thoughts about Market Samurai and their practices?

I want to learn from one of the best how to do real link building. I currently outsource this and just aren't sure if they're that good or not. Can you please let me know if Rand is doing any training or presentations on this in L.A or California this year? And if not him maybe someone else you can recommend who's good. Thanks much.
