Authorship Implementation - Is it needed to place Rel='Publisher' on every page on eCommerce

Hi,
On my eCommerce site I've placed rel='publisher' only on the homepage and rel='author' on all of the article pages. Is that the way to do it?
Do I need to add rel='publisher' also on the article pages besides for rel='author'?
P.S
Even though I placed rel='publisher' only on the homepage, when I use Google's test tool (http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets) I see my publisher ID also on product category pages (that don't have publisher nor author on them but do have regular +1 buttons). How is that? (bacuase of the +1 button) -

I did play with it a bit and I do agree (and appreciate) with all responses but I think I can add something...
It seems that the basic fact of having a "G Follow" on every page already covers the rel=publisher part and the Google Structured Data Tool @Adam here recommended does show my company as the publisher even though I did not specifically add rel="publisher" (simply because of the Follow button).
This is also why I don't know if I need it along rel="author" since I have the "Follow" button on all pages but I assume that you are correct and the two are not needed together.

Hi there, thanks for your question! Rel=Publisher is for brands, while Rel=Authorship is for people. As the code snippet fork Rel=Publisher should only be placed not the most important page of your site, placing it on the home page is a good choice. As the markup tool is verifying your Publisher setup, I'm assuming you have correctly placed a link on your Google+ brand page back to your site's homepage. Well done.
Yes, the Rel=Authorship code snippet should be placed on all article pages and blog posts --- that have a byline for a particular author, that is. You then need to establish a link from that particular author's individual Google+ profile back to your site. There are a few ways to go about this. AS Alberto says you are pretty much correct in your implementation however I just want to check a couple of things.
If you are looking to get authorship set up you do not really need to set up rel=publisher so lets leave that part for a moment. If you want the homepage to have authorship simply put rel=author on the homepage linking to the correct Google Plus account. I assume you have done this part.
The next part is to go to the Google Plus account and make sure that on your profile you have added your eCommerce site in the "Contribute to" section. This creates the link and will start the authorship markup and it should appear in SERPs.
If you want to double check that authorship is working correctly then use the Google Structured Data testing tool here and enter your sites URL. This will let you know.

You can add both to all pages, for now rel = publisher is not much, and may the rel = author you benefit something to enrich your snippets.
However as you say you have now is the right way, an ecommerce has no author but firm, like behind an article post yes there is an author who writes, usually a person, not a company .
Remember that Google is in the testing phase for both author and publisher.

Hi guys, I just saw this rel="me" attribute and I can't find any reputable recent (within last year) information. I never heard of this and wonder if it's any beneficial in any way. At the same time, should I use nofollow or follow on links from website to social accounts? I've heard different opinions but, again, no recent relevant and trustworthy information. Trying to find a WP application (that does not require a FB application) that synchronizes website blog posts with a company facebook page
I'm not a developer and it's been about 5 years since I helped a client synchronize their wordpress blog posts with their FB page. I remember it being much simpler to do this in the past. However recently I'm noticing that all of the WP auto post applications require a Facebook application to get the synchronization to function properly.

Google + Business Page Custom url -too-spammy-long-url?
Hi to all, Ok so I was offered a custom url from Google Plus, greatly appreciated. Yet do you go ahead and add keywords when prompted? I mean if its your business page, and Google says you MUST add some sort of number or letter behind your custom url, do you add some keywords? Like ford for example sake. Would it be smart to put google.com/+ford-mustag-f350 So you add a couple of hyphens, and a few keywords? I understand the principle of shorter is better. But if your url is already like 15 characters, does a few more hurt? Or is it useless? Another example: Your Google page is tv repair man. Your Google offered url is google.com/+Tvrepairman But again it says you must add a number or letter etc. So do you add like your location? so tvrepairman-colorado or maybe no hyphen? Or go farther and go with tvrepairman-colorado-springs-co My point is, I am lost. It seems like for now its a one and done. You mess it up, your stuck with it for a while, and I cannot find any ideas online on how to work this. Maybe because its common sense, but just looking for some friendly and honest advice. Chris

Rel=publisher
Hi there, One of the things I want to get my department to do is pursue Google Authorship. I don't think assigning a person with rel=author is the best idea for us, so I am going with the rel=publisher option. Are there any other actions I should take - aside from having good content that will be +1'ed by Google - to ensure that I am taking full advantage of the benefits of having strong Google Authorship? Google Plus Page vs. Local
We have a google plus page here, set up as a business: https://plus.google.com/b/118361610870255631824/118361610870255631824/posts Then we also have a migrated local page: https://plus.google.com/111600136449742974371/about?gl=uk&hl=en What I would like to see ideally, is to keep the local marker so when people search through Google Maps our name still appears, but on a branded search for 'world of books' I want to see our Google+ page down the right hand side, rather than the local page currently, search for 'world of books' I want it to look the same as if I search for 'music magpie' Help!

Are you doing SEO on Twiiter and Facebook pages?
Seems to be a thought process emerging (CALL THE MEDIA!) that twiiter and facebook are having through various different paths a real ranking effect. Is anyone now doing SEO on a clients Social media page because of this. I know they are no follow. I am not sure they don't pass juice.

Shared articles in the SERP's - who sees these shares?
Hi Folks, I am trying to find out a little more about how individuals need to be connected to see that someone 'shared' something and for this to then show up in my results when signed into Google. Can anyone shed a little more light on this please? I am just looking for extra clarification. Would we need to be connected through Google Buzz? Facebook? Twitter? Quora? LinkedIn? None of the above? With everyone you are connected to through your Google Account? What is Google using when it looks at how I am connected with others? How does Google 'see' Facebook shares?
With Rand's new post about the correlation between FB Shares and rankings, I wanted to ask... How is Google able to see what links are being shared? Does the profile have to be public? Or do they get anonymous info direct from FB as part of some deal?
