What metrics does the fb:admins Facebook Open Graph tag actually provide?
-
I'm considering implementing the "fb:admins" Open Graph tag on our website to provide our social media team with additional analytics. We already have the other standard OG tags in place. My question is twofold:
-
Can you use a Facebook Page ID rather than an individual user's account ID?
-
What data, specifically, will this tag provide? Our site already has an official Facebook Page and I'm curious whether this tag would make any NEW information available, outside of what we can already get within the Page Insights. I would love to see a screencap if anyone has it implemented!
Facebook outlines the tag usage here, but it's not exceedingly helpful: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/insights/
Thanks guys!

That's right.

Thank you so much, Takeshi! This helps.
So if a fan page already exists, implementing the tag wouldn't create an additional fan page to deal with, would it?
Thanks again!

Adding fb:admins will allow you to see Facebook Insights for your domain, which shows you things like how many times your site has been liked & shared on Facebook. The fb:admins tag also serves other functions like allowing the admins to moderate comments (if you're using Facebook comments) and automatically creating pages in Facebook when the admin likes a specific page. So the tag does a lot of things.
You can only use user IDs for the fb:admins markup, not page IDs.

Is a Facebook lookalike audience a good idea when audience requires a necessary characteristic
We are running a social media campaign for a point of sales system for restaurants and retail stores. We have had quite a bit of traffic to our website from Adwords and SEO. We have thought of the idea of creating a new look-alike audience based off the people who have come to our website already. However, we only really want to only build a Facebook audience consisting of business owners, managers or decision makers of restaurants and retail stores that would be interested in a point of sales system at some point. We know that most of the people who have come to our website (from SEO and Adwords) have been interested, in some degree, in our point of sales system. My reservation though is that if we create a look-alike audience, Facebook will not be able to replicate the type of audience that really fits this profile - that it will create an audience possibly of similar personalties, interests etc to that of those that have visited our site, but not one that consists predominately or entirely of owners, managers or decision makers of restaurants and retail stores. This is the necessary characteristic we are wanting for our audience members. Is it fair to assume that in this situation Facebook won't be effective in its creation of a look-alike audience to fulfil what we are really needing as stated? Or am I underestimating Facebook's abilities? You thoughts here would be greatly appreciated.

Facebook Business Page Optimization: Awards Section
Hi everyone! I am looking to add my clients awards to the Facebook business page to add a little "pow" and give myself a "look what I did" talking point at my next meeting with them. I was comparing their page to the competition, and I noticed the competition has a lovely Awards section under their About. Do you know how/where this is hiding? My clients business page is rather new (a little over a year old), so I'm leaning towards this was an old feature that Facebook has not hidden from older pages. Anyone have any idea on where this is hiding? fXVWEwM

How to regain Facebook Page Authority - For page badly affected with spam users
Case- company Facebook page has more than 10K users and almost 50% are spam. When this happens, edge rank of the page is badly affected (because spam users are not interested in your shared content so they hide you/remove you from feed and of course never engage). Not to mention Facebook released an update end of 2014 where page will have less visibility anyway compared to user updates. Overall the Page updates get very less exposure / impressions Now only solution is to remove this huge no of spam users one by one or by an API. Question - Does removing the spam users regain the authority of the page ? Does that solve the overall issue ? What are the other solution to fix the situation ? Thanks.

Benefits of getting inbound links to your Facebook account to go through your domain?
Hi, I was browsing a magazine recently and came across an advert that had a text of: domain.com.au/facebook When you visit this address you are automatically redirected to their Facebook account. It got me thinking, is there any benefit to this? It's the first time I've seen it and I presume they get links from outside sources to their FB account to go to domain.com.au/facebook rather than facebook.com/sitename Thanks

Facebook Fan Page Title
I am creating a new fan page for my company. The page will definitely begin with my brand name. Is it a good idea to add keywords after the brand name (3-4 word short description of what the brand is) or is it better to keep the name just the brand? Thanks!

Moderate blog comments Yes/No? Facebook comment plugin?
I was reading outbound marketing and they suggest that a good blog "does not" moderate comments. I have always taken the moderate approach, but their thought was this inhibits a conversation from taking place on the blog. I am wondering what thoughts others may have on this and its potential positive and negative impacts, both SEO and in general. Also I am thinking about using a Facebook plugin with my blogposts. I think this may be a good way to help get social visibility... Has anyone tried this yet?

Is facebook and twitter always a good idea to promote a website and improve Google rankings?
I'm attempting to promote a fresh seafood market / restaurant here on the Sunshine Coast, Australia. I have not found a lot of examples of people using Twitter and Facebook to promote this type of business here. Is it hard to justify the time for return here? One benefit I thought for twitter is we could have tweets displayed on site giving us some dynamic content which would hopefully keep Google spider coming back more regularly is this correct? Is there any link building advantage to using these social media sites?
