H1 Tag on Homepage
-
The name of our company is LEDSupply; our tag line is: "For All Your LED Project Needs!".
Currently the H1 Tag for our homepage is
LEDSupply: For All Your LED Project Needs - Low Prices, Big Bulk Discounts & Free Shipping
My questions is should I break out everything but the tag line so the new H1 tag is:
LEDSupply: For All Your LED Project Needs!
Which is better in your opinion?
Here is a link to our homepage: http://www.ledsupply.com/
Thanks! -Brooke

i was thinking that same thing, so I took out the LED before supplies. I could probably take out the LED before project and add "lighting" in there!
LEDSupply - Best Deals on Cree LEDs, LED Drivers & Supplies For All Your Lighting Project Needs!
It's live on the site. I like it, thanks for the comments, that was helpful!

LEDSupply - Best Deals On Cree LEDs, LED Drivers & LED Supplies
For All Your LED Project Needs!
Prob not a big deal but could be seen as too spammy by G with the whole thing (mention LED 5x vs 4 + the "for all..." dilutes the other keywords)

How about this:
LEDSupply - Best Deals On Cree LEDs, LED Drivers & LED Supplies For All Your LED Project Needs!
?

thank you for the suggestion.

Considering that you don't have keywords in either case, doesn't really matter. Won't affect your rankings.
My opinion, add more keywords along the lines of: LEDSupply - Best Deals on LED Drivers, Strips & Lights!

Multiple H1s and Header Tags in Hero/Banner Images
I work on education websites, and our sites are being flagged by SEO and accessibility checkers for having multiple H1s. The home pages have the site name as an h3 in the hero image, and an aspirational headline (think: Be Like Mike) as an H1. The sub-pages have two H1s: one on the site name in the banner image, and the other on the page title. Note that the site name is very keyword-rich. If we were to remove the H1 and H3 tags from the hero/banner images, would it do any SEO harm? At the same time, we’d rewrite the H1 on the home page to be more keyword-focused. Any other options? I also read that it’s OK to have multiple H1s as long as it’s clear which H1 belongs to the heading area and which one belongs to the body area of the page. Thanks in advance!

What are the benefits of the URL meta tag?
We have too many meta tags and want to get rid of all the outdated ones. However, we don't want to eliminate valuable meta tags by mistake. So, before we say goodbye to the URL meta tag, we want to make sure we understand the pros and cons, if any. By the way, we are not referring to canonical URL tags, just URL as in:

Is It better to have a blogroll style Homepage to your website? or one main post?
Does a site rank better or is it better to have a blogroll style homepage linking to all of your other post in your website. Or is it better to have one homepage post for the main keyword theme of the website, with the other post titles in a side column?

Is it ok to use the H1 tag for bullet points?
Our search results page doesn't have a typical H1 tag because adding a true header would take up space unnecessarily. Therefore, we've assigned the h1 tag to be the breadcrumb. As filters are applied, the breadcrumb grows to include these filters. This breadcrumb is coded as bullet points, even though they're not the typical style of bullet points. Here's a screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/AjGC9iAYR3 For example, the breadcrumb: Home >> NYC Social Media Classes >> Adult >> Manhattan is currently coded as: | |
On-Page Optimization | | mevseo
| | * class="first"><a <span="">href</a><a <span="">="</a>/">Home |
| | * <a <span="">href</a><a <span="">="</a>/nyc/classes/social-media/age-adults/neighborhood-manhattan" class="Selected">Search results |
| | |
| | |
| | id="cat_social-media" type="checkbox" checked onclick="setCategory('social-media')" /> |
| | # style="font-size: 12px; display: inline;">NYC Social Media Classes |
| | <label <span="">for</label>="cat_social-media"> |
| | |
| | |
| | |
| | <nobr>id="age_adults" type="checkbox" checked onclick="setAge('adults')" /><label <span="">for</label>="age_adults">Adults</nobr> |
| | |
| | |
| | <nobr>id="nbhd_manhattan" type="checkbox" checked onclick="setNeighborhood('manhattan')" /><label <span="">for</label>="nbhd_manhattan">Manhattan</nobr> |
| | |
| | | Right now that H1 tag just relates to 'NYC Social media classes', but we'd like to expand it to include both 'Manhattan' & 'Adults' - would that be ok? And if so, would it be better to put the tag before and after the tag?0 -

Meta Description Tags and Rankings
Hi there, I have a lot of pages set up on my site but most have no content. If I add the correct meta description tags to those pages, will that help rank for the root domain? I am slowly getting the content added for each page but wanted to see if I could boost rankings in the meantime. http://www.petmedicalcenter.com Example: most of pages under "Services" are blank. Thanks for the help!
