Abusive links submission
-
Hello,
I wonder how many links you can submit to web directories without Google realizes that there is something fishy?
I know that sending a massive amount of in a short period of time is not recommended, but I am sure there is a limit not to cross what would it be?Thank you in advance for your attention.

I think it depends on the customer really. It might be wise to discuss your strategy openly with them, it is quite possible they have someone on their staff that could help you write copy, and save your time for more valuable things.

Thank you for your advice, i'm sure your right but now that you're talking about blogging and all, if you're doing that SEO activities for your customer, would it be risky to right something for them or do I ask them to invest time in blog post redaction?
-
Your right, it woulb be!

Honestly i wouldn't bother much with submitting links to directories. You can spend your time much more productively trying to aquire links directly from related blogs and local businesses or friends websites. It takes a bit more work, but from my experiance those link directories are pretty much ignored by google, and won't gain you much other than an easy way to waste your time.
Try guest writing some material on a related blog, then you have full control over the link and the anchor text as well as the content it is surrounded by.

You seem to be looking for a magic number. There isn't one. Or if there is, no one knows what that number is.
I suspect there are numerous factors and considerations including the source of the links along with your domain's authority.
Google does not make this information public, and for good reason. If we all knew that 100 links in a month is ok, but 101 is crossing the line then SEO would be a lot easier, wouldn't it?

Internal linking
Hi, I currently have built my website with internal links to boost my category pages (the ones that are the most important with the most traffic). Is the way to go or nowadays or doesn't it matter what pages you boost. I beleive what I did is some sort of "page rank sculpting" but is it still useful ? or I should I link natural across my website even though some pages will get a boost and some won't ? The link that I have are at the bottom of my content (not in the footer) but at the bottom of the page next to each other ? does they count or is it really bad to have them that way ? I have a blog and I was wondering if when I link from my blog page for example about "Barolo" to my page about "Piedmont" if I should also link from my page about "Piedmont" to my Barolo page or if the link only has to go one way from my blog / Barolo page to my piedmont page to boost Piedmont. Thank you,

Removal of Bad Links
Before I started doing SEO for the company I am currently working in, they had an Indian company doing loads of spammy SEO work for their site. My question is as follows; should i try to remove the links that were inserted there. I am doing link building now in a natural way, which obviously takes days to get a link - not minutes. I'm worried that the link profile is full of years of spammy links and I can't dilute it as fast as I would like. Here are a few links to different sites that the company created links on: http://youdoze.com/ http://www.video-bookmark.com/ http://mylinkvault.com/ http://www.puplinks.com/ http://huzoo.com/ How do I go about this?

Google Link Disavow and sites with extremely heavy but poor link metrics
Need help/opinions from the SEO's out there. I am working with a site that in the past hired an SEO company out of India. Over the course of their time together, this company submitted the clients url to tens of thousands of link exchanges and directories. Around the time of Penguin, the owners told me their inquiries dried up. Literally that same week they had a new website launched (designed by a local competitor) that really butchered the site. They were convinced the reduction in traffic/inquiries was due to the new site but I am convinced otherwise (suspect Penguin). Not only does the site need to be re-structured but their link portfolio needs to be diversified. Now on the plus side, the company caters and sponsors a number of events that earns them organic, relevant links. These are overshadowed by the tons of poor, irrelevant ones though. I read a few posts recently on the Google Link Disavow tool and to proceed slowly due to the unknown nature surrounding it. I have a good idea of what links are problematic and which ones are well served. However, the number of problematic links in my estimation is quite high (thousands). I am very hesitant to dive into Google Disavow and submit such a large number of requests. What are your thoughts? How would you proceed?

Is there a software to help me check whether the sites that i give link to, also place my link on their site (reciprocal link)?
When i exchange links with others, i usually put their link on my site hoping that they'll do the same. Since it's impossible to check all sites whose link i have placed on my page to see if they have put a link back to me, i was wondering whether there is a kind of software to help me do that!

External links incorrect
Hello, My 'air intelligence' campaign is indicating my site has no external links, but I know from Google analytics that there is over a 1000 links. How long should I expect SEOmoz to take to discover all the links. Regards

Links from Real Estate Websites Link Page, Do or Don't?
It seems that real estate sites have at times been under heavier scrutiny from the search engines. But real estate agents get networking, which makes acquiring those links a little bit easier. Plus with localization of search, I think real estate sites may give off a good GEO scent. Should SEO's go for links from real estate websites? Does a reciprocal link devalue said links?

Back links not being found
I am working on optimizing a client site that was launched in January of 2011. A number of back links are starting to show up when I do a competitive link analysis, however in Google WMT the only IBLs that are showing up are from the non-www of the domain, even though I have a 301 redirect from danwilson.ca to www.danwilson.ca (and has since the site launched). I also have verified the non-www version with WMT and declared the perfered domain as www.danwilson.ca. Any ideas why the non-www domain links are being shown as inbound links by Google WMT rather than internal links. This likely means the site is getting dinged for duplicate content...
