Google Analytics - Sessions vs Views?
-
In Google Analytics under Audience Overview I want to visit total visits during any given period of time but instead it shows me sessions. Am I missing something? How do I switch from sessions to page visits?

Here's another post from SERoundtable with info:

I noticed the change last week. I made a pretty simple dashboard, no more and no less than what the clients and I have agreed upon. Naturally, half of them are now confused. Ahh... GA... you make life interesting...

I was watching this video on YouTube on Google Analytics 2014 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7YA1oZhevo) and noticed hers says 'Visits' where mine says 'Sessions'...so they are pretty much the same?
EDIT: Nevermind, I just read on SearchEngineWatch.com that the names were just changed and they are the same. Thanks!

Pageviews is on the same page.
Not sure what number you are trying to get? A session = visit from one user where they don't go idle for a certain length of time (default = 30min). So if a person visited your website, didn't do anything for 1 hour, then refreshed the page, that would be 2 sessions. But aside from that instance, a session usually is a visit.
You can further distinguish new vs returning visitors under Audience > Behavior > New vs Returning

Strange Traffic Spike In Google Analytics
Over the last two days I have seen a huge spike in the pageviews to my site www.learnbonds.com. Up to this point my average page views per visit has been less than 2. For the last couple of days it has jumped to 5 but the average time on the site has not increased. Upon further investigation under the browser and OS page of google analytics I found that traffic coming from internet explorer and IE with Chrome Frame is reporting 10+ pageviews per visit. Below is a screenshot. Any insight into what might be causing this and how to fix it that the community can provide would be appreciated. Thanks

Google Analytics Not Tracking 100% of Visits?
Hi all, We're having an issue with Analytics where we are getting different figures from what Silver Pop are saying. For example email campaign A sent via Silver Pop, with Google Analytics tracking code show's 50 unique clicks in Silver Pop. Looking at Google Analytics there are only 10 visits from that campaign. So I thought it could be something with the tracking, but there wasn't a significant rise in web visits = either Google Analytics is not recording visits properly or Silver Pop figures are wrong. I'm more inclined to think that it's something to do with Google Analytics. Has anyone come across something similar? Where one system is showing you X amount of visits but the figures on Google Analytics don't add up? A few quick things already covered: Double checked the links have been tracked properly, but this doesn't explain the low increase in web visits generally We've double checked that Google Analytics tracking code is properly installed (and it is / was at the time of send). Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks guys.
