Does embedding Google map help local SEO?

Sorry to double post, but I went and looked and they also have one specifically for local business.

I think adding the map by itself couldn't hurt, but I would combine it with schema organization or business markup for the best results. You can specify where your physical location is with either of those two mentioned.

Thanks for sharing Matt - we did a similar test and found improved SERP results with a full address/G map on the contact page above the fold.

We've tested this a few ways.

Add map to the footer - seems to help somewhat. Not a big jump but definitely a boost.

Add map to the contact page along with the address - this helped the most in our testing.

Add map to any other page - no effect in our tests.
We tested 2 controls and 4 sites set each way = 14 total.
Of the 14, the 2 controls and the 2 "any other page" had very little improvement. The 8 on #1 and #2 had definite moves and so it does seem to affect the results. Putting the address on the page, along with an embedded G map was by far the best for us.

Hello! So I have a business that I run out of a single location for the last 3 years. I am unfortunately having to move here in the next few weeks My question is what do I need to do in order to have the best chance at SEO for the new location? When should I make the changes? Local Recreational Marijuana Dispensaries Disappearing from Google Maps when Plurals used.
This is the second time I have posted this question and never got a satisfactory result. I have an SEO client in Tacoma Wa and when you type (Dispensaries Near Tacoma they are in the Top 3 snack pack and the Google maps shows 20 other similar businesses. However, when you search (Dispensary Near Tacoma) only 3 or 5 recreational marijuana shops show up and my client disappears. Someone earlier suggested it could be because of the categories selection, but that can't affect ALL the other shops and like I said it happens in other cities. for example Dispensary Near Olympia vs Dispensaries Near Olympia. "Duplicate" on Google Local - Attorney and Business Listing
For our law firm, we have a Google Local listing for the firm (Riddell Law LLC). Google also created a local listing for one of the attorneys (Riddell) (we didn't create it, but are in the process of verifying it). Both listings are at the same address. Moz Local says these are "duplicates" - is that true? Would Google penalize us for this? I am not sure how to fix it - both the individual attorney and the business are in fact at the same address. If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!!

Scoot local links
I've been approached from Scoot trying to sell me their local directory links.

Its a one-off price of around £80 to be listed on all of their 500+ directories and £20 a month to be able to do any changes and to keep the web links active.

I was thinking of reselling this so the cost is not the problem so much, its just the quality of the links in question.

Google My Business for a Multi-Business Showroom
We are considering signing up for a multi-business showroom co-op concept in our area. Basically this space (1 address) has 10+ businesses that have their products represented at the location. There is one person working that passes along the leads to the individual companies when someone visits the showroom and shows interest in a product. I know at least 5 of the businesses are using this address for a Google My Business profile, and we would like to also. How can I manually build local citations for a client?
Note: I am not interested in paying for services to build citations for me. I am managing building a client's citations. On many sites I am asked to create an account and verify my information. I have tried to create accounts using my client's email address and specified password so that they can manage their citations down the road should their NAP change. However, many sites require further verification such as security questions or a phone code. It isn't practical or effective to ask a client to confirm and verify all of these accounts. What is the most effective way to manually build local citations for a client? How can I get around the issue of email and phone verification?
