Magento: Moz finding URL and URL?p=1 as duplicate. Solution?
-
Good day Mozzers!
Moz bot is finding URL's in the Catalogue pages with the format www.example.com/something and www.example.com/something?p=1 as duplicate (since they are the same page)
Whats the best solution to implement here? Canonical? Any other?
Cheers!

This is a popular plugin for managing parameters and faceted navigation in Magento: http://amasty.com/improved-navigation.html. I have read quite a few reviews on this plugin, and it seems to be referenced quite often (however I don't have experience with it).
This paired with some robots.txt should do the trick.
Hope this helps!

This is for the category pages. Since we have many products in the category, there are many pages as well. We are currently using rel next prev, but not canonical. The problem is that Magento generates two URLs for the first category page for all categories:
I dont see how we could block these in robots.txt or parameters, because then they wouldnt be crawled at all?

I agree. Use robots to filter out bad urls, and set your url parameters in webmaster tools. Careful if you dont know how to use this, as you can potentially get rid of urls you want. Read up on it first.

Is there only one page? Is there a www.example.com/something?p=2 and www.example.com/something?p=3 as well? If this is the case, you may want to look into rel="prev/next".

Canonical will help yes, but also if the pages ARE duplicate content, you can block them in robots and let Google know in Webmasters Tools under URL Parameters.

Moz page optimizer - avoid keyword stuffing
Hi Moz community, A quesiton about our dutch travel insurance website. Two weeks ago we had a ranking drop from 17 to position 35. The project is still fresh (we started in may this year). I quess penguin 4.0 didn't like our rapid linkbuilding. But we also receive a message in page optimization tool for keyword stuffing. When we analyze the homepage www.reisverzekering.net for reisverzekering (meaning travel insurance) Moz suggests to avoid keywords stuffing. But I dont understand, we don't use the keyword that much and Yoast doesnt give this message. How much key

Duplicate content error?
I am getting a duplicate content error for the following pages: http://www.bluelinkerp.com/products/accounting/index.asp http://www.bluelinkerp.com/products/accounting/ But, of course, the 2nd link is just an automatic redirect to the index file, is it not? Why is it thinking it is a different URL? See image. NJfxA.png

How can I clean up my crawl report from duplicate records?
I am viewing my Crawl Diagnostics Report. My report is filled with data which really shouldn't be there. For example I have a page: http://www.terapvp.com/forums/Ghost/ This is a main forum page. It contains a list of many threads. The list can be sorted on many values. The page is canonicalized, and has been since it was created. My crawl report shows this page listed 15 times. http://www.terapvp.com/forums/Ghost/?direction=asc http://www.terapvp.com/forums/Ghost/?direction=desc http://www.terapvp.com/forums/Ghost/?order=post_date and so forth. Each of those pages uses the same canonicalization reference shared above. I have three questions: Why is this data appearing in my crawl report? These pages are properly canonicalized. If these pages are supposed to appear in the report for some reason, how can I remove them? My desire is to focus on any pages which may have an issue which needs to be addressed. This site has about 50 forum pages and when you add an extra 15 pages per forum, it becomes a lot harder to locate actionable data. To make matters worse, these forum indexes often have many pages. So if I have a "Corvette" forum there that is 10 pages long, then there will be 150 extra pages just for that particular forum in my crawl report. Is there anything I am missing? To the best of my knowledge everything is set up according to the best SEO practices. If there is any other opinions, I would like to hear them.
