Linking between properties

I own 3 domains. One is my blog, one is my photography business site, and one is my graphic/web design site. They are all hosted on the same VPS account.
I link between each site. Also, since the links are either in the nav, footer or sidebar, all pages from one page link to the homepage of each other.
Is this an issue for SEO? Should I not be doing this? Would it be beneficial to use a no follow link instead if I'm to keep them?

The site all follow good practices, so I don't foresee an issue and those are not the only backlinks they have. Thanks guys!

Agree with Dennis, if you were relying on this method alone for all your link building, you're going to have a bad time. However, it's perfectly natural for sites owned by the same person or company to link to each other. The best-practice warnings of "nofollow everything!" exist because people abuse and overdo this sort of linking. If you think any of these sites might otherwise be in trouble for any reason, consider being as safe as possible and nofollowing, but I doubt you have to.

you'll probably get responses here to nofollow them or to remove them just to be safe.
Personally, I just don't worry about it. I've never had problems with it in the past as long as all my links are not like that.

Linking Etiquette
Hi Moz Community, Long time lurker, first time poster. I work for a real estate firm and have recently done some link analysis. I'm noticing that my company is not getting linked to as frequently as we should be. Several news outlets (including NYT & Bloomberg) have cited our reports, interviews with employees and other original content belonging to my company without linking back to our site (although they do mention us).Some publications are even linking back to our competitors for similar content but not ours. Is it appropriate to reach out and ask for links from these outlets after they've been published? Does anybody have tips on making others aware we want links shared for future articles? Thanks in advance!

Link Building
Guest blogging, guest blogging, guest blogging. Since I started my career as a "brand manager" I've heard the term "guest blogging" at least a million times. So I've put a fair amount of energy into it and for a long time it worked beautifully, still is in many ways. However, in the last month or two nearly every blog I have contacted about guest blogging has said that "due to an increase in guest blogging request we are now charging a fee of x" so on and so forth. Doesn't paying for links put you at great risk for being deindexed? And can't bloggers get in trouble for this as well? Do they not know, not care or think it doesn't apply to them? And if it's a sponsored post, say I send them $100 of free product and pay them $100 to do it, isn't that just hiring someone to talk about my brand? Why would google punish me for that? Anyway around it? Thank you so much! I look forward to your suggestions/advice/criticism.

What would you do about dead inbound links?
Hey guys, I recently asked a question similar to this, but wanted to spark up a bit of a discussion around it to see what everyone's feelings were on it. The web is always changing - as we're all too aware - so links you may have obtained (by however means) let's say 2 years ago may not be 'active' now. By that I mean you may have had a link from "example_-website.com" in 2010 and now "example-_website.com" is no longer an active website - but still shows a parked domain. The thing is... this parked domain is still cropping up in OSE, suggesting that Google may still believe there's a link there - and may not have re-crawled that site to prove otherwise. The issue I've had with this is an SEO company built links to the sites I'm working on now (one of the sites has been penalised as a result of their link building). These links aren't 'active' anymore and when viewed on OSE, they just head straight to a parked domain with no visible (or in-source) link to my site. What are everyone's feelings on this? What would you all do? I'm in two minds whether to re-write a section of the website.... but I'm swaying towards creating better content and NOT re-directing the old URLs to it (just contact the decent links and ask for a change of link). Are These Types of Links Tracked
I have a client that is looking to be listed on a group of directory sites for the service that they offer. After reviewing the site I found that they have a unique way of listing their links, check out one example at http://www.lakidsguide.com/Summer_Camps.php#educational where each title is a link that goes to the client website. IF you look at the first listing for Adventure Treks the link actually goes to http://www.lakidsguide.com/linktrack.php?type=listing®ionid=33&bid=9391&listingid=10176 and then is redirected to their true website at http://adventuretreks.com/. Would this link be picked up by Google and the other engines as a link from lakidsguide.com to adventuretreks.com with the way they are directing the link to their own tracking page first? To me it seems that the engines would not see any outgoing link and therefor the listing would not give the client any benefit as far as SEO is concerned. Any input?

Using an SEO Agency to build one-way links for you via link exchange
There are a number of SEO agencies which offer link building as part of their SEO offerings. I believe they build one-way links to the client site, by offering another link in exchange to the liking site. So, if the client site is "C", and link is being requested from site "A", the site "A" owner is offered a link from site "B" in return. Is this a good and/or recommended practice?
