Hi Akhilesh,
Link velocity is determined by hopefully real natural factors. For instance, your client and you discuss a way to get some attention brought to whatever their product or services. Let us say you put out a press release and because that product is unique enough or interesting enough therefore it will be picked up by a lot of bloggers and legitimate media outlets including sometimes national news stations. I have a client who currently gains 60 links a day on average naturally he went from gaining maybe two a day to a natural 1000 today when it hit Fox news, NBC ABC etc. we got lucky to an extent but we knew the negative link velocity was going to occur it was not like this was in a be a surprise. So I can tell you that Google does view things that are not manipulative to their rankings as legitimate therefore will not come after you. To imagine a peek like that for a week and then a consistently higher daily link intake than you had before that is great but it did not affect the rankings negatively when it came down but what was really doing was just settling it had no idea that there was going to be a slowdown to that degree until it occurred. At the end of the day I am still extremely happy of what we did we got the website a lot more domain authority and domain trust long with a lot more traffic we have quadrupled base traffic in one quarter. The use a lot of techniques because you have to use Google plus, twitter, linked in whatever will get you attention and it has to be high quality or people will not stick around. I know people use that word a lot but it really has to be a lot of work done.
I have put a lot of time and wrist a lot of my own money proving that press releases are completely legitimate method when used correctly not when you are just throwing stuff out there hoping some is going to catch it and then write it. I recommend actually putting in the time and the money with a real quality public relations agency I also recommend using Wistia in order to have your clients make a once a week the video similar to white board Friday's however make it relevant to their industry. You know they talk about it I got to speak to Chris at search love and they grew their business by speaking about relevant topics in their industry and getting ranked that way through videos pointing back to their site. That is amazing because the cost is not high it has white hat it is great for content and the end-user it should be implemented immediately. You should also transcribe them this will create content for you that is natural and one-of-a-kind.
Videos have the schema in them if there using the super or Seo embed on Wistia in addition to helping your site rank they keep people on your site longer and if you allow them to have the embed code (the I-frame embed code) and the video is good enough it will be shared people will simply put it on their website and it will point links back to your website.
You can do this with other video providers I believe there is a tool on distilled if you look up "Phil Nottingham distilled back link video tool" you will find it. Keep in mind though all the stuff that you need is already in Wistia if you can give those PR releases out with your video you will get a lot of links. I hope that answers some of the questions here are some links on link velocity and other methods being used that are okay with Matt Cutts

Thanks Thomas,
Can you explain @ We need to earn natural links by making sites better for the end user.
Below are the article point want to discuss with you and other viewers.
7. Your Rankings Will Drop If You Stop Building Links
“Can we build links for three months then stop and see what happens?”
No, we can’t. Can you go to the gym for three months, stop and then expect to keep those ten pounds off?
Link building is a constant and continual process. There is no “maintenance mode” that we can switch to once we reach your goals. Search engines reevaluate listings and their algorithms constantly, and the only way to still say relevant to them is by keeping your links and your content fresh. Stopping link building may keep you stable for a month, maybe more, but you will lose all of your progress by doing nothing.
What’d I miss? What are some other things you wish top execs knew about link building?
Thanks
Akhilesh

Would you mind summarizing the question I appreciate the link to the article but are you asking my opinion on everything contained in the article and what my opinion in contrast to the authors is?
I think the word link building is a bad word now I can tell you that.
I am unfortunately I will have to find more time to read the article before I can give you a full reply I am sorry.
Why do not you just list the things that you would like answered and I would be more than happy to tell you what I think.
I do believe that the word link building should be removed from search because it sounds manipulative from the get go.
We need to earn natural links by making sites better for the end user and I will read this article and get back to you.
Sincerely,
Thomas

Difference between anchor text pointing to an article in our section pages and the title of our article
My concern is described more in details in the following hypothetic scenario(basically this is the same method that CNN site applies to its site): In one page i have a specific anchor text e.g. "A firefighter rescued a young boy" and this one is linked to an article which if you enter you will see that it has a different title than the anchor text/short title that i mentioned above. So the internal titlte of the article is "A firefighte rescued a young boy in Philippines while it was rainy". I want to know whether this is a good SEO practice or not. Regards, Christos

Publishing the same article content on Yahoo? Worth It? Penalties? Urgent
Hey All, I am currently working for a company and they are publishing exactly the same content on their website and yahoo. In addition to this when I put the same article's title it gets outranked by Yahoo. Isn't against Google guidelines? I think Yahoo also gets more than us since they are on the first position. How do you think should the company stop this practice? Please need urgent responses for these questions. Also look at the attachment and look at the snippets. We have a snippet (description) like the first paragraph but yahoo somehow scans the content and creates meta descriptions based on the search queries. How do they do That?

Will cleaning up old pr articles help serps?
For a few years we published articles with anchor text backlinks to about 10 different article submission sites. Each article was modified to create similar different articles. We have about 50 completely unique articles. This worked really well for our serps until google panda & penguin updates. I am looking for advice on whether I should have a major clean up of the published articles and if so should I be deleting them, removing or renaming anchor text backlinks? Any advice on what strategy would work best would be appreciated as I don't want to start deleting backlinks and making it worse. We used to enjoy position 1 but are now at 12-15 so have least most of our traffic.

Beating the file sharing sites in SERPs - Can it be done and how?
Hi all, A new client of mine is an online music retailer (CD, vinyls, DVD etc) who is struggling against file sharing sites that are taking precedence over the client's results for searches like "tropic of cancer end of things cd" If a site a legal retailer trying to make an honest living who's then having to go up against the death knell of the music industry - torrents etc. If you think about it, with all the penalties Google is fond of dealing out, we shouldn't even be getting a whiff of file sharing sites in SERPs, right? How is it that file sharing sites are still dominating? Is it simply because of the enormous amounts of traffic they receive? Does traffic determine ranking? How can you go up against torrents and download sites in this case. You can work on the onsite stuff, get bloggers to mention the client's pages for particular album reviews, artist profiles etc, but what else could you suggest I do? Thanks,

Article submission, and how to build backlinks for Ecommerce? [HELP]
Hi guys, I have a question, for high quality backlinks apparently you go to these article websites where you submit your site such as Ezine etc etc, however is it just one article you submit to these as it'll look like duplicate content? Also can I have it on my site first? How does it work? Also I run an ecommerce website, how can I build backlinks to each product, theres over 200+ products and 1.6k subcategories. I would like to rank for as many as possible but getting an SEO company to do this would cost to much. Any ideas on how I should go about it?

What are good sources to buy traffic and video views?
I am looking into buying traffic for a website and I'd like to know if anyone has had a positive experience doing so. What are the best companies that sell traffic? I also want to buy video views. This is a trickier question. I upload the videos to YouTube and use the embed code on my website. I want the paid video views on my site so I get the traffic and YT gets the video view. Any suggestions? Thanks

Such as, if i wrote a ymoz, and suddenly the articles is accepted, will the link to our site coming out of that Article Post increased our SEO Standing? Another example would be http://active.tutsplus.com , yesterday i have successfully pitched a tutorial idea, and they told me to write it so that they can published it , and they also promised that i will be able to put my site link (dofollow) ... But will these link be a Good BackLink that will increase our site's SEO Standing? The last one is exactly the same link , but this time coming from a News Site , such as http://teknologi.kompasiana.com/internet/2011/06/09/website-full-flash-dengan-inovasi-hebat-karya-indonesia/ , in this article (kompasiana is a very wellknown site news in Indonesia, in fact KOMPAS is the biggest newspaper firm in Indonesia) , our site is being featured , there is a link coming out of that article (DOFOLLOW), but will that link make our site much more SEO Friendly? Again please enlighten me 🙂
