Can internal links cause Google to penalize me for key terms/phrases?
-
For example, having a link on many pages (so dozens of links in total) using a product name, all pointing to that product page. Could Google see that as "spammy" and penalize that product page in the SERP's?
Note: My product page has been penalized for the search term "Product Name" and there are no external links pointing that page using the product name as a term. This is new with the latest Panda Updates.

Thanks Irving. When you say stuffing the blog and knowledgebase tags. Do you mean stuffing on specific blog or knowledgebase article pages? Thanks!

While it's possible to over-optimize anchor text on a site, I don't believe this is your issue. You need to make sure the site is buttoned up completely from a SEO perspective. One example I see is that there is keyword stuffing in the keywords tag, on your blog tags and on the knowledgebase tags. I would frankly drop the subdomains and port over the content to the main site :www.absoluteautomation.com/blog and drop all the keyword tags.

Hi Oleg, yes it's - http://www.absoluteautomation.com/sensaphone-400-fgd0400/ - with the keyphrase being "Sensaphone 400"

I know that if you stuffed the link with other keywords.. e.g. "product name, product variation, buy product online, cheap product name", then you can get an overoptimization penalty. I have not seen a case when linking with the same related, non-spammy text causes a penalty (theoretically, any page linked from a header navigation can be penalized then).
Maybe share the url so we can see?

How to increase external and internal followed links?
From analyzing my competitor‘s websites I can see that I have way fewer external and internal followed links. The number of followed links my competitors are getting each week increases by around 300. Where do these links come from? How can I increase my followed links ?

Once you have cleaned up links / disavowed them how to get google to take notice quicker
Once we have contact webmasters and had some links removed / changed from money anchor text to brand anchor text. Or failing that once we have submitted spam URLs to our disavow file, should we just wait and keep and eye on the how quickly google re caches the URLs or should we try and force google to recrawl the urls quicker by submitting them to Google's submit url tool ?

Extremely high internal Links
While looking over a client’s monthly analytics, I noticed some oddities in the Links- competitive metrics. Although my clients leads in every category, they were still trailing in “total Links” to a competitor. That competitor has 25K links to our 1.9K. So I ran OpenSiteExplorer on the competitor and found that they had 25, 636 internal links. This is a very basic website, with only about 50 pages. It appears the links started building in January and just keep increasing. Anyone seen this before? Any ideas why they would do this?

Do footer links pass less link juice?
One of my best inbound links for PA and DA happens to be a footer link, curious if it's less valuable or has any value at all.

How can I find all the outbound links from a website domain?
I want to find all the outbound links (basically whatever comes in <a>tag) from a domain (say www.abc.com) as well as all the subdomains under it (say abc.com/a etc). Open Site Explorer provides the inbound links from a website but does not provide any functionality to get all the outbound links from a website. Is it possible to do?</a> <a>Thanks in advance. How is it possible that Interflora can bounce back from a Google penalty so quickly - is that normal?
As far as I understand it Interflora was removed from Google organic search results on February 20th. I guess no one knows for sure why they were delisted other than Google but I have heard theories such as giving flower bribes to bloggers in return for links 🙂 How sweet - and placing paid follow links inside advertorials within local newspaper sites. Whatever the reason for their de listing it seemed Google must have wanted to send out a strong message since even a branded search wasn't ranking. Fast forward 13 days to today and I now see Interflora ranking not only for their brand but also for flower delivery London etc etc... How is it possible that they managed to get back in the SERPs so quickly? Is it normal to get a penalty and be back up and running at position 1 in less than 2 weeks? Is that normal for a penalty? I was under the impression that being caught gaming Google to the extent where they delisted you was something far more serious and had much longer term repercussions?
